Studying adaptive thermogenic responses as being a strategy to protect against several metabolic disorders. The browning process is a crucial point of adaptive thermogenic responses. The present study was carried out to examine whether inguinal white adipose tissue (iWAT) is a candidate for the browning process. Mice were caged in a 4 °C cold chamber (Cold group) for 24 hours and 23 °C room temperature condition (RT group). The result showed that mRNA expression of genes specific to thermogenesis, including peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma coactivator 1-alpha (PGC-1α) and uncoupling protein 1 (UCP1), was markedly upregulated in iWAT of the mice in the Cold group compared to the mice in the RT group. Consistent with this, mRNA expression of the Transmembrane protein 26 (TMEM26) gene, specific to beige cells, was also significantly higher in the iWAT of the cold exposed mice than that in the iWAT of the mice housed at room temperature. Expression of solute carrier family 27member 1 (SLC27A1) gene, another gene coding for a protein of beige cells, was tendency to increase in iWAT of the cold exposed mice compared with that in iWAT of the control mice. However, this change was not significantly differed between the two groups. These data demonstrate that iWAT is an important tissue responding to cold-induced thermogenesis and browning process. Thus, iWAT is a promising candidate for further studies on the mechanism of cold-induced thermogenic responses in white adipose tissues.

Analysis of some biochemical indicators during the growth and development of 3 sugarcane varieties ROC10, ROC23, ROC26 is one of the methods contributing to the prequalification of sugarcane varieties with good quality. The results showed that the reducing sugar content in the stems of all three sugarcane varieties decreased with age, of which ROC23 and ROC26 were less than that of ROC10. The sucrose content increased gradually, and ROC23, ROC26 had higher sucrose content than ROC10. The starch content in the cane stem decreased gradually with the age of the plant, of which varieties ROC23, ROC26 were less than ROC10. Vitamin C content of ROC23 variety was higher than that of ROC10 variety in the growing period while ROC26 variety at an early stage, vitamin C content was less than that of ROC10 variety but from 9 months old onwards, it was higher than ROC10 variety. The cellulose content of the ROC23 variety was highest, followed by the ROC10, and the lowest was the ROC26 variety. The results of this study are the scientific basis for selecting sugarcane varieties with good quality based on the biochemical changes of the plant during growth and development.

Bac Giang is a province in the northern midland and mountainous region of Vietnam. Bac Giang has many potentials and advantages in terms of natural conditions and human resources for economic development. However, climate change has been having a great impact on the socio-economic development of the province. The study applied the correlation assessment method and regression analysis to process temperature data at 4 meteorological stations: Bac Giang, Hiep Hoa, Son Dong, and Luc Ngan. The results demonstrate that in 44 years (1970 - 2014) the trend of change in average temperature is from 0.012 oCyear to 0.018 oCyear. On the other hand, the changing trend of the annual absolute maximum temperature is common at a higher level, from 0.028 oCyear to 0.032 oCyear. The variability of extreme temperature values is much broader than that of the average temperature. The trend of temperature variation (average temperature, annual absolute maximum temperature) is highest in the eastern territory of the province, in mountainous districts including Son Dong, Luc Ngan, and lowest in the western lowland areas namely Hiep Hoa district. The research results will be the assisting tool for management agencies to find solutions to develop socio-economic adaptation to climate change.

The paper uses the model of cubic ternary substitutional and interstitial alloy and conditions in which the interstitial atom concentration is very small compared to the substitutional atom concentration, the substitutional atom concentration is very small compared to the main metal atom concentration. On that basis together with the elastic wave and the elastic deformation theory of this alloy obtained by the statistical moment method, we perform numerical calculations for temperature, pressure, the concentration of substitutional atoms, and concentration of interstitial atoms dependences of the elastic moduli E, K, G, the elastic constants C11, C12, C44, the longitudinal wave velocity Vd and the transverse wave velocity Vn of alloys FeCrSi and AuCuSi. Numerical results for FeCrSi and AuCuSi are compared with that of Fe, FeCr, FeSi, Au, AuCu, AuSi, and other calculations, and experiments. Numerical results for ternary alloys predict experimental results in the future.

An adolescence period (15 - 17 years old) is an important stage of body development. Study on the nutritional status of adolescents plays an important role in health care. A cross-sectional study was conducted on 1095 students aged 15 to 18 years old at Lao Cai No. 1 High School in 2019. Results showed that median age was 16.3; weight was 53 kg; height was 163 cm; waist circumference was 68 cm; hip circumference was 80 cm; BMI was 20.0 kgm2; Z-score height for age was -0.6; Z-score BMI for age was -0.3. Anthropometric indicators such as weight, height, and BMI in boys were higher in girls as compared to boys in all grades. The rates of malnutrition, overweight and obesity were 5.4%, 9.1%, and 1.6%, respectively. The malnutrition, overweight and obesity in boys (6.8%, 3.4%, 2.3%, respectively) were significantly higher in girls (4.1%, 5.8%, 1.1%, respectively) as compared to boys (P < 0.05). These parameters of students of grade 10 (2.5%, 16.4% and 2.5%), 11th grade (6.4%, 7.4% and 2.0%) and 12th grade (6.9%, 3.7% and 0.3%) were different (P < 0.001). The results of the current study showed that the rate of stunted students was 3.9%, however, there were no significant differences in gender and grade level (P > 0.05). These results have oriented students, families, and schools to improve the poor nutritional status, and provide the best conditions for the development of adolescents.

NAC has been considered one of the largest transcription factor families in plant species. In peanut (Arachis hypogaea), 29 members of the AhNAC gene family have been identified and characterized. However, the information of their functions related to the mechanism of the stress response has been reported. In this study, a total of seven duplication events, which occurred from the segmental duplication, has been predicted in the AhNAC gene family in peanuts. The KaKs ratios revealed that natural selection prevented the presence of the point mutations in the most duplicated genes, consequently, maintaining their structure and function during evolution. Based on the unrooted phylogenetic tree between AhNAC proteins in peanuts and 23 drought-responsive CaNAC in chickpea (Cicer arietinum), we proposed 12 members of the AhNAC that potentially share similar functions with well-characterized NAC in chickpea. Furthermore, various hormone- and drought-responsive cis-regulatory elements have been found in the promoter regions of these candidate genes. Re-analysis of the previous RNA-Seq demonstrated that the majority of the candidate AhNAC genes were responsive to the osmotic stress. Taken together, our study could provide an important foundation for further functional characterization towards the improvement of stress tolerance in peanuts.

The purpose of this study is to select and determine the weights of indicators in vulnerability assessment on the agricultural sector in Binh Dinh province by AHP - Analytic Hierarchy Process method with the support of Expert choice software. Indicators with large weights show the role and impact of those indicators in determining the value of the component variables: exposure index (E), sensitive index (S), and adaptive capacity index (AC). The results of the index calculation of the component variables taking into account the weights of the indicators will reflect more objective results when no weights are applied. Analysis of the value of the component index and the vulnerability index shows that: The degree of vulnerability to the agricultural sector in the coastal plain districts and near the sea is greater than that in the mountainous and midland districts. The degree of vulnerability to the agricultural sector of Binh Dinh province is low to very high, of which very high vulnerability is concentrated in coastal districts and near the sea including Hoai Nhon, Phu My, Phu Cat, and Tuy Phuoc districts; high vulnerability in An Lao and Hoai An districts; districts in the southwest of the province have low to moderate levels of vulnerability to the agricultural sector.

The paper performs numerically the vacancy activation volume, the activation energy, the pre-exponential factor, and the diffusion coefficient for metals Au, Cu, and alloys AuSi, CuSi in the interval of the concentration of interstitial atoms from zero to 4%, in the interval of temperature from 700 to 1873 K, in the interval of pressure from zero to 180 GPa and the interval of strain from zero to 5%. The paper determines the dependence of the diffusion coefficient on pressure and stress for above mentioned metals and alloys. SMM numerical results show that the Arrhenius law is satisfied for metals and interstitial alloys at different pressures and concentrations of interstitial atoms. SMM numerical results for Au at T = 1000 K and T = 1250 K and at zero pressure are in good agreement with experiments for the activation energy (errors are below 10%) and agree in terms of magnitude for the pre-exponential factor and the diffusion coefficient. SMM numerical results of the diffusion coefficient for Au in the interval of temperature from 977 to 1321 K and for Cu in the interval of temperature from 933.95 to 1336.15 K are compared with experiments and other calculations and there are rather good agreement in terms of magnitude. SMM numerical results of the activation volume of Au and Cu agree well with other calculations. SMM numerical results for diffusion quantities of interstitial alloys AuSi, CuSi in different temperatures, pressures, stresses, and concentrations of interstitial atoms anticipate and orient experiments in the future.

SMM numerical results for diffusion quantities of interstitial alloys AuSi, CuSi in different temperatures, pressures, stresses, and concentrations of interstitial atoms anticipate and orient experiments in the future.","PeriodicalId":17007,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Science Natural Science","volume":"6 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80719647","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hai Duong is a province in the Red River Delta with a GDP of 3020 USDyear. Its economy depends heavily on natural conditions, especially in the agricultural sector. In the context of climate change, drought will be a natural disaster that greatly affects the economy - especially agriculture. Using the correlation evaluation method and building complex regression equations, a good correlation was found between the total evaporation with the total monthly rainfall, monthly mean temperature, monthly mean maximum temperature, and monthly minimum temperature. This is the basis for calculating potential future evaporation based on climate change and sea level rise scenarios. Using the method of calculating the drought index K using the input data of climate change and sea level rise scenarios for Vietnam, the study has calculated the drought evolution for the three driest months of the year (12, 1, 2) for the period 2021 - 2050 in Hai Duong province. The results show that with both scenarios RCP 4.5 and RCP 8.5, the drought index is at arid and very arid levels. The drought level in the RCP 8.5 scenario is higher than in the RCP 4.5 scenario, the drought level at Chi Linh meteorological station is 1.4 - 1.5 times higher than the drought level at Hai Duong meteorological station and especially, the drought is cyclical with the scenario RCP 8.5, which shows the maximum every 9 - 10 years.
