While social media has been used prevalently on the daily basis, the users with different demographic background and socio-economic status (SES) perceive use of social media differently depending on their incentives and purposes. With the premise of accessing social media especially by mobile devices, this study adopts the Stages of Concern from Concerns-Based Adoption Model and intends to explore the incentives of how working professionals of generation X and Y interact with each other and how they achieve the state of parasocial interaction and social capital as anticipated. The research participants are 300 full-time working professionals in business administration. The participants are pre-screened by whether using social media to interact with their customers and colleague to maintain the customer relationship and service quality. The findings suggest that Gen X and Gen Y differ in the state of parasocial interaction including cognitive, affective, and behavioral perspectives. In addition, the users possessing mobile devices of the same brand reveal higher state of parasocial interaction. More findings and implication in lieu of managerial practices are further discussed.

For children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), most are mixed symptoms, such as Asperger syndrome (AS), Tourette’s syndrome (TS), Anxiety disorders, and so on, just collectively known as ADHD, but the most obvious symptoms are inattention, learning disabilities, emotional disorders, sensory integration abnormalities. Therefore, this research focuses on building blocks and Augmented Reality (AR) links, using the building blocks of animals as the theme, coupled with the operation of building blocks to enhance patience, touch, construction and other capabilities, through the interaction of AR and dynamic performance can attract attention to ADHD children’s eyes and attention. There are two objectives in this study: Firstly, is to have a positive interaction with AR for children under six years of age who have ADHD. Secondly is to increase the difficulty of interaction, improve the continuous response to designed AR and attract; Not only use the building blocks to interact, but also through the AR increase in children’s patience, initiative, associated with the combination of AR and tablet. From this trend, it can increase the child’s touch operation action. Finally, through interviews, experimental teaching, observation and evaluation, this study explores the effects of APP interactive blocks on the learning of ADHD children. Building Blocks

In the study of “Flipped Classroom of Science instruction module”, twelve-year compulsory education and its core literacy spirit were combined in the curriculum design to enhance students `self-learning ability, and also aiming to cultivate talents for life-long learners. The course was carried out with the following four steps:1. Self-making teaching aids; 2. Learning the principles actively; 3. Clarification and internalization of concepts; 4. Sharing self-study report. In terms of the quantitative analysis of effectiveness, there were sixty-one eighth-grade students from three classes who involved in this course. The before-and-after score of its descriptive statistics were below the significant level of 0.01. Whoever the students from classes were involved in the course, the before-and-after scores all performed significant differences. After the students have gone through the concept clarification and internalization course, their learning effects on the worksheet of “Cooperation and Sharing” all made a great improvement both in the depth of the contents and the concepts.

This paper proposes a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) combination scheme for anomaly detection to train feature extraction and to test anomaly prediction by using Stacked Convolutional Neural Networks (S-CNNs), Stacked Gated Recurrent Units (S-GRUs) as the typical model of RNNs, and a linear regression layer. In this proposed model, the S-CNNs layers firstly capture spatial feature extraction of the input sequence data of vibration sensor, and the result is used to temporal feature learning secondly with the S-GRUs. After this procedure, finally a regression layer predicts an anomaly detection. The experimental results of bearing data in NASA prognostics data repository not only show the accuracy of the proposed model in anomaly prediction for rotating machinery diagnostics, but also suggest the better performance than other state-of-the-art algorithms such as a plain RNN and GRU of the individual model.

In this paper, time-frequency analysis method was studied in the genre classification of music songs. Due to the benefits of multi-resolution analysis, the proposed methods first adopted the wavelet package decomposition (WPD) to obtain candidate features from the spectrograms of music songs. Then the singular value decomposition (SVD) was used to extract the desired features because of its dimension reduction ability. In the experiments, well-known database named ISMIR2004 was applied. To examine the performance of the proposed methods, the experimental results of the proposed methods were compared with the results of the MFCC based methods.

Lighting is one of the essential elements of the theater. With the advancement of interactive technology, It is possible for performers to control the parameters of the moving stage light through gestures or body movements directly. In this paper, an interactive lighting system controlled by the performer’s body movement is proposed. Performers wearing Myo Armband, a gesture sensing device, can interact with the moving stage light, controlling the orientation, colors, brightness, flickering patterns, and timing, through the user-friendly graphical interface.

This paper proposes a hybrid model of aspect-oriented sentiment prediction which integrates tensor factorization (TF) and sentiment utility logistic model (SULM). First, using sentiment dictionary words as seeds, the aspect or opinion words can be extended iteratively through double propagation. Accordingly, the users’ reviews could be represented as the features in user-item-aspect space, in which prediction model could be built. Various combinations of the hybrid model were proposed and evaluated on the Chinese reviews on places of interest from Trip Advisor. Experimental results show that the hybrid model can achieve better prediction performance than TF or SULM. The hybrid model also outperforms either TF or SULM while handling cold-start problem.

A novel method of facial expression recognition based on convolutional neural network is proposed in this paper, we design a new convolutional neural network and expand the expression database. On the basis of CK+ and JAFFE databases, adding 200 sleepy expressions and focused expressions. The sleepy expression and the focus expression is the most common expression in the students’ learning process, recognizing that can help teacher know the students’ learning situation and change the point of teaching. In comparison to the traditional method of facial expression, the experimental results show that the proposed network is more accurate and efficient.

In this paper, a vehicle safety monitoring system is designed based on the Internet of Things and physiological characteristics identification. This system is divided into two parts, the first part is the network-coordinator and router which were installed on the road, and the second part is the network-end device that installed on the vehicle.

The HWR (handwritten recognition) problem gains more attention with the development of machine learning. In this work, a user-adaptive HWR method is purposed for the application when only handwritten digits and few limited characters need to be recognized. Five types of CNN (Convolutional Neural Network) classifier are used in three steps: digits recognition, string-type classifier and string recognition. Experiment results show that the purposed method is capable of HWR for digits and few limited characters.
