Embedding Critical and Creative Thinking in Chemical Engineering Practice 在化学工程实践中嵌入批判性和创造性思维

Critical and creative thinking are considered as higher hierarchical forms of teaching and learning. This paper describes how critical and creative thinking have been incorporated in our Chemical Engineering practice where students were tasked to perform laboratory practical before submitting a report demonstrating deeper understanding of what the students have learnt from the experiments in order to assemble the concepts and principles behind the experiments and apply them to design new processes.

TRIZ Application to the Integrating Construction Techniques of Plate Pain to Improve Heat Resistance of the Steel Deck Roofs TRIZ在板痛综合施工技术中的应用提高钢甲板顶的耐热性

The global warming has great impacts on the whole world. There are natural disasters taking place in every country, which causes direct influence on national economics. Along with exhaustion of natural resource, we should really get our focus on saving energy. Regarding this issue, there should be more inventive approaches to advance heat resistance of exterior architecture structures. This paper applies TRIZ to improve heat-proof paint on steel plates and integrating construction techniques. Both large and small test boxes are used to conduct several heat insulation tests from which it proves the new plate paint has improved the total heat resistance of plates. This improvement on heat insulation of plates saves about over 23% of electricity, which achieves the goal of energy saving in Taiwan.

An Energy Conservation Tracking System for the Device-free Target in Wireless Sensor Networks 无线传感器网络中无设备目标的节能跟踪系统

In traditional active positioning schemes, the target has to holds assistant devices for being tracked; to liberate this limitation, a new positioning scheme, which is called passive tracking, has been recently introduced. In the passive tracking scheme based on received signal strength (RSS), the device-free target can be tracked by using radio frequency tomography (RFT) in the WSNs. In this paper, we present the RFT-based tracking scheme by estimating the crossing points (CP) on the line-of-sight links (LOSLs) between wireless nodes. Meanwhile, we analyze the power consumption of the RFT-based passive tracking scheme and propose an adaptive wireless web scheme, taking into account the tracking performance and power consumption. According to the results of simulations, without loss of generality, it is observed that the proposed scheme can provide excellent performance while owning the ability for energy saving.

A Comparative Study of Machine Learning Techniques for Real-time Multi-tier Sentiment Analysis 面向实时多层情感分析的机器学习技术比较研究

Nowadays, Big Data, both structured and unstructured data, are generated from Social Media. Social Media are powerful marketing tools and social big data require real-time tracking and analytics because the speed may indeed be the most important competitive business profits. Compared to batch processing of Sentiment Analysis on Big Data Analytics platform, Real-time analytic is data intensive in nature and require to efficiently collect and process large volume and high velocity of data. Real-time multiclass Sentiment Analysis is oriented towards classification of text into more detailed sentiment labels in real-time manner. But Multiclass Sentiment Analysis with Single-tier architecture where single classification model is developed and entire labeled data is trained may decrease the classification accuracy. In this paper, Real-time Multi-tier Sentiment Analysis system (RMSA) is proposed to achieve high level performance of multi-class classification in Real-time manner. Lexicon and learning based classification scheme with Multi-tier architecture are combined to develop the proposed system. Real-time twitter stream data is collected by apache flume and, large volumes and high velocity of social data is efficiently analyzed by Spark. To improve the classification accuracy, the suitable classifier is selected by comparing the accuracy of three different learning based multiclass classification techniques: Naïve Bayes, Linear SVC and Logistic Regression. The evaluation results show that Real-time Multi-tier Sentiment Analysis will achieve the promising accuracy and Linear SVC is better than other techniques for Real-time Multi-tier Sentiment Analysis.

Optimal dispalcement amplification ratio of bridge-type compliant mechanism flexure hinge by using Taguchi method with grey relational analysis 采用灰色关联分析的田口法优化了桥式柔性机构柔性铰链的位移放大比

Compliant mechanism flexure hinge was frequently utilized in precision enginering in recently years such as bridge-type and rhombus-type compliant mechanism. The previous study used approximation mathamatic model to estimate displacement amplification ratio. But the result of this investigations obtain displacement amplification ratio aproximatly 30. It identify so difficult to obtain maximum and precision value. Therefore, in this paper designed new model for bridge-type compliant flexure in SOLIDWORK. Displacment amplification ratio was calculated by using finite element method in ANSYS. The simualtion result reveal that ouput displacement increase from 0.506 mm to 0.648 mm when length of input body increase from 5 mm to 15 mm with thickness of flexure hinge of 0.3 mm and input displacement of 0.01 mm. The displacement amplifycation obtained from 50.6 to 64.8. concentration stress increase from 78.7 MPa to 101.5 MPa. Moreover, input incline angle between two flexure changes from 1.2 degree to 1.6 degree, with length of input body of 5 mm and the input displacement of 0.01 mm, output displacemt increases from 0.505 mm to 0.521 mm. The displacement amplification ratio obtained from 50.5 to 52.1 and concentration stress increased from 78.7 MPa to 80.16 MPa and then reduce to 74.19 MPa. The length of input body has significant effected while the incline angle between two flexure hinge from 1.2 degree to 1.6 degree has slightly effected on the displacement amplification of bridge-type compliant mechanism.

QFD-Based Service Design on the Horticultural Therapy for the Elderly 基于qfd的老年人园艺理疗服务设计

This study aimed to determine the optimal design and space for horticultural therapy for elderly people. Followed by a literature review was conducted to determine the key factors in designing a healing garden, expert interviews were employed to screen design requirements. Then, quality function deployment was adopted to analyze in detail the design elements (customer needs) and engineering characteristics in actual constructions to design and plan through simulations. Finally, questionnaires were employed to evaluate the alternative designs and determine a suitable space for horticultural therapy for elderly people. The findings were used as spatial design principles for horticultural therapy in long-term care institutions.

The Analysis on Difference between Movement Afterimage of Dynamic Illusion Effect and Perception Effect in Three Geometrical Forms 三种几何形式运动后像动态错觉效应与感知效应的差异分析

This paper is stage study of the large research framework from “Study on Motion Perception in Various Forms,” it the observation angle of the apparent rotation velocity threshold boundary, this study explored changes in three difference geometrical forms influence the expression of dynamic optical illusion effect and the formation, perceptual response, and distinguishability of movement afterimage in three types of forms. According to empirical research, it is found that the shape characteristics individual shape characteristics of three different geometrical forms would make the surface continuous line graphics of three different geometrical forms would separately show different levels of design and shape alteration in the perspective of “linear graph length”, “spacing of linear graphs”, and “linear graph number,” and the three are the linkage relations under the characteristics of geometric shape, it not only appearing the “strength and weakness of dynamic optical illusion” and “movement afterimage of perception effect,” but also have causal relationship among three different geometrical forms in lower absolute threshold of movement afterimage.

A Novel Method of Hiding Transmission of Mobile Phone Images 一种新的手机图像隐藏传输方法

Network has become the most important channel for information transmission. However, insecurity of the network transmission makes information extremely leaky and intercepted. The security of network transmission has increasingly become the focus of attention. Information hiding technology provides a direction for solving this problem. What is called information hiding technology is to embed some important information into digital carriers (such as images, audios, videos, etc.) without damaging the original features of the digital carriers [1]. Mobile phones, as the advanced intelligent mobile terminal, photographing and sharing photos readily are its main functions. This paper mainly introduces a method to implement the hiding transmission of mobile phone images. Through the image format conversion, image Location Encryption-Least Significant Bits steganography [2] and mobile-side application development, we can achieve the realtime image hiding transmission function of mobile phone. Convert the image captured by mobile phone to bitmap for embedding secret images or other information expediently. Improvement in traditional LSB steganography: rearranging the secret image information, packing piecewise and taking Location Encryption-LSB steganography (LE-LSB) in specific pixels of the carrier image which can effectively increase the difficulty of cracking and improve the effect of steganography. The secret image information can be extracted and rearranged at the receiver and the secret image can be recovered. These steps are all implemented at the mobile terminal application. Through experiments, this method has better image hiding and transmission effect and protects secret image security. And it can complete this series of changes in real time in the mobile terminal, increasing the convenience which has a certain value of application.

Perception of Mobile Commerce: A case study of Taiwan’s Agribusiness 移动商务的认知:以台湾农业企业为例

This paper examines organization–s perception of using innovative m-commerce in relation to agribusiness demographic attributes such as geographical location, experiences in agriculture, and types of business that cause farmers adoption decisions of mobile commerce. This study discusses the fact of mobile commerce using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), influenced perceptions in relation various demographic factors. A quantitative approach using a questionnaire survey has adopted. Collected data was analyzed using SPSS-24 software program. First and foremost, regarding to geographical location results indicate that agribusiness located in northern Taiwan perceive more benefits in adopting mobile commerce than the agribusiness located in southern Taiwan feel. Besides, concerning experiences in agriculture, results show that newly established agribusiness feel more comfortable on conducting mobile commerce than the elder business. Finally, the perception of mobile commerce in general does not exhibit significant differences among the types of agribusiness.
