This study describes the fundamental elements of Active Learning and how it facilitates the development of soft skills in the teaching of Project Management, this theme makes it easier for students to manage the resources involved in a project in an experiential way, in addition to the experiences shared in class increase the way in which these skills are developed as the sessions and dynamics go by. The perspective from a preliminary study shows the variables used with the students in the applied instruments, defining an entry profile to the course and an exit profile, with which the growth in the skills proposed for the study can be compared. It is important to establish a starting point or diagnosis for students entering the course so that these can then be measured and compared with the results generated at the end.

The covid 19 epidemic has been marking the pace of life around the world for the last two years, and it left clear marks on economic activity, our social life and even the pollution associated with human activity. One of the consequences is related to the decrease in car traffic, especially in the months of mandatory social confinement. This work analyzes the impact of the epidemic on traffic regarding access to the beaches of Barra and Costa Nova in the region of Aveiro, Portugal, through the infrastructure of the PASMO project. Therefore, the weekly and weekend traffic profiles evolution were analyzed over the various months of 2020. The work also compared the evolution of infections with the evolution of road traffic, as well as the impact of the various events related to the epidemic in road traffic.

The tourism sector is one of the sectors that most benefits from technological innovation. There are many online platforms and mobile applications available that provide a better experience to everyone. Cultural tourism, being a specific type of tourism focused on tangible and intangible culture, also benefits from this factor. This paper aims to investigate the needs and expectations of real users through interviews with experts in the field, a systematic review of the literature and the state of the art of mobile applications already on the market. This paper presents part of the results of the investigation carried out within the scope of a project whose objective was the creation of a high-fidelity prototype of a mobile application for cultural tourism and interculturality.

The design and development of learning objects for higher education, currently surpassed by competences based approach, require a well known structure and pedagogical rules. Educators need both a methodology and tools to guide them through these processes, to provide valid and reliable learning objects as outcomes. With the objective of addressing these needs, this paper presents an ontology based conceptual model. It defines a Learning objects structure, restrictions and relationships among components, and pedagogical rules. Then a recommender system that guides educators in the learning objects creation process, can be developed based on this conceptual model proposed.

A Digital Twin (DT) is a virtual representation of a physical object which plays an important role in the digital transformation of industry, where an important requirement for intelligent manufacturing is cyber-physical integration. One of the objectives is to improve the performance of the real system using the information generated in the virtual part. The present paper shows the development of a low-cost DT used for monitoring the state of the process and the product development using augmented reality (AR) and free software for its configuration and programming. The design was tested in the MPS 500 classification station, which is a modular production station that has industrial sensors and actuators and was controlled with a Raspberry Pi (RPi) board responsible for sending data to the Firebase cloud to further show the DT in real-time in a mobile phone. Results show that with the help of the DT and AR, it is possible to automate industrial processes and monitor them from different places, collecting and analyzing data to achieve the implementation of solutions based on the data generated by the DT, enabling a greater level of digitalization and information to increase the efficiency and reliability of the processes.

More than a virtual world, Second Life (SL) is characterized by being an online metaverse in which the user can, in fact, create a second life. Since Second Life is a metaverse that simulates reality, users or residents can explore the world, meet other people, participate in activities, and thus simulate real world routines [1]. Based on the LOCUS project, this article intends, through the vision of the residents, to understand their preferences and what they value most in Second Life. The focus is on the space and the places they most like and what they value; on communication, that is, how are the communicational interactions between residents and preferences; and, on playability (if there is playability and if there is interest in this topic). In this way, the respondents' answers will be a trigger to build the interaction and playability of the village of Amiais in Second Life. Through this feedback, Amiais will continue to be developed with the goal of being an interesting environment that arouses curiosity, the desire to play and interact with other residents.

For students who are trained in the distance learning modality, it is imperative to have practice scenarios that allow the development of competencies according to their area of knowledge and even more so nowadays, when access to training sites or real judicial simulation has been limited. The purpose of this study is to present the experience of developing a multi-user prototype for the realization of simulated hearing practices. The methodology followed is oriented to the development of virtual worlds, where the most important aspects to be taken into account to carry out experimental practices in simulated environments between teachers and students are highlighted. It is concluded that the prototype allows in an interactive and dynamic way to execute hearing simulation practices considering the different roles of an oral litigation case. Also, the methodology can be applied in any simulated environment in different areas that require synchronous interaction with role assignment through multi-user environments.

Industry 4.0 represents one of the key factors for digital transformation and, proof of this is, every day, more and more companies are digitizing their processes to improve them, maximize their performance and gain a competitive advantage. This digitization leads to explore new technologies and how to adapt them to productive operations so, the operators can be able to perform their tasks more and more efficiently. StoreMe-MR is a toolbox whose main objective is to bring technology and production processes closer together, making it possible to manage a warehouse in an optimal way without interfering with the actions performed by an operator. To achieve this, StoreMe-Mr uses mixed reality technology together with the benefits of artificial intelligence algorithms to provide the end user with all the information he needs in real time. Tests of StoreMe-MR in a laboratory environment show promising results to be considered as one of the essential tools in an operator’s day-to-day life.
