Dealing with the overwhelming daily amount of online information is perhaps the biggest challenge faced by all computer users, whether they are novices or experienced professionals. How, where and when to store information sources, such as websites, is becoming increasingly difficult as people spend more of their life online and use the internet in all aspects of their lives. Our survey of 202 internet users found that although 85% of the participants regularly use the favorites (bookmarks) function, 73% still have trouble finding a website that they have recently visited. Whether the strategy is to bookmark in a single massive list and use the search tool, or to bookmark into folders and sub-folders several levels deep, appears to make very little difference. This research proposes a contrarian approach, giving users a highly structured favorites (bookmarks) schema using only two levels, consisting of four main headings and 12 sub-headings. An open card sorting task was used to validate the utility of such an approach. The results and their impact towards a future user-based knowledge structure are presented in this paper.

This paper addresses the problem of defining and evaluating the success of ERP throughout the life cycle of the information system. In order to solve this problem, many of the theoretical and empirical contributions on the success of the information system are analysed and discussed. This approach allows the development of a new model; especially in Delone & Mclean supported research. This work will try to establish a different perspective on the success of the ERP and can be an encouragement to some organizations or the many researchers that will be engaging in these areas, in order to help achieve more clearly the expected performance in the acquisition phase of ERPs. Many times that performance does not always happen [1].

Libraries have large growing book collections. Library users have difficulty in browsing the whole collection when choosing new books to read, particularly when looking for books without a defined goal. In this case, recommendation systems come in hand and play an important role in improving library usability. Recommendations are based on ratings and the quality of recommendations depends on the quality of the ratings. In this paper, we adapted an item-based collaborative filtering algorithm by incorporating temporal information. We, then, analyze the influence of the rating age in final predictions. Our findings suggest that prediction quality improve when some conditions are met. Moreover, user tastes are more correlated with recent rated books than old ones.

Although software industry has seen a tremendous growth and expansion since its birth, it is continuously facing problems in its evolution. The major challenge for this industry is to produce quality software which is timely designed and build with proper cost estimates. Thus the techniques for controlling the quality and predicting cost of software are in the center of attention for many software firms. In this paper, we have tried to propose a cost estimation model based on Multiobjective Particle Swarm Optimization (MPSO) to tune the parameters of the famous COstructive COst MOdel (COCOMO). This cost estimation model is integrated with Quality Function Deployment (QFD) methodology to assist decision making in software designing and development processes for improving the quality. This unique combination will help the project managers to efficiently plan the overall software development life cycle of the software product.

An exploratory study was conducted into the interaction with documentation displayed by users of an unknown software tool. Five adult men were observed during their work with a software simulation of a fictitious machine for the production of liquorice. Their only source of information on the machine's functioning was its printed user manual. The log data from the observations was analyzed with a view to pinpointing interesting patterns of behaviour that deserve further, more formal, research.

Social networking websites have grown rapidly in recent years. Many people are involved in several virtual networking websites. However, many users are not aware of the potential risk that may occur as a result of improper actions when using social networking websites. Although a lot of benefits can be received by using virtual communities, privacy and security problems may occur. The aim of this paper is to enhance the protection of users' personal and sensitive information that exist in social networking websites. In particular, this paper discusses privacy settings, security questions, and third party applications involved in using Facebook website. The results of this paper highlights the need for a regular review of privacy settings as well as a clear policy to control the interaction between users and applications.

This paper, presents a web-based service for web and mobile platform that optimizes the freight and warehouse management, as in calculating the volume for cargo and freight. Design the service concept and the marketing planning for the launch of this disruptive product for the management of the space, illustrates the creation of an entrepreneurial mindset aiming a win business in profitability as well as in sustainable growth within the complex and uncertain systems information market (1). According to Hsieh et al (2) taking profit of an opportunity is combining search and recognition of a valuable problem-solution. This new information system service, it will allow firms to reduce time and costs in the management of the store space. Through a data entered in the data base, we calculate the required load and vehicles. Thus, companies will save money. How? By making route optimizations, and improving conditioning of the loads. Save on transportation, fuel, human resources, and will have an accurate calculation of the cost for transportation in production/distribution of goods. This paper presents the analysing of the opportunity by identifying a problem and designing a product to solve it in a win-win strategy for both customers and the entrepreneurial firm. Also it shows the marketing strategy and communication actions, in order to tangibilize the benefits of this new information system to the customer in a period of economic crisis and where the old methods of managing the cargo and freight should be abandoned.

Communication skills are essential to a successful career in computing. You may be an excellent programmer, but if you can't explain your work to your peers then your career will quickly plateau. This means the most important language you should master during your graduate studies is not C# or Java -- it's English. Whether it's writing reports for class, writing conference or journal papers to summarize research results, or writing a long document such as a thesis or a dissertation, it's all writing. Your special challenge is explaining complex concepts to your readers in a way that they can easily understand. Fortunately, this is a skill that you can learn.

The development of multiple web applications with features of video games gave way to a new trend called Gamification. However, there isn't a clear explanation that allows the connection of the elements of the game applications with non-game features, mainly in traditional highly regulated financial sector. The aim of this study is to investigate the acceptance of a business application Gamified in e-banking. Based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), the results from an online survey of 183 customers show that the Gamified application had a positive impact on the acceptance of this new concept in e-banking. Our findings show that perceived ease-of-use have a strong positive influence on costumers intentions and on the perceived usefulness. Further analysis and model modification show that perceived usefulness and enjoyment have positive influence on perceived ease-of-use. The results also show that the customers have accepted and used the Gamified application to manage their investments and bought more mutual funds thus increasing the chance to win the game.
