The teaching of College English intensive reading faces many thorny issues, among which the interest of student is a big one: some articles in the textbook are not that relevant to students' lives and contain grammatical points that students consider boring, therefore they do not have a strong interest. It becomes a big issue how to raise the interest of college students and enhance teaching efficiency. This article applies experiential learning theory and explains how to raise students' self-awareness accordingly, with a case study of Unit 5 Unfreezing Frozen in iEnglish book 1.

From the perspective of media convergence, this paper systematically analyzes the influence mechanism of media convergence on network ideological and political education in universities, and the practical path of media convergence to boost network ideological and political education. This paper analyzes the influence mechanism of media convergence on network ideological and political education in universities from three aspects of communication mechanism, content form and technical means of media convergence. From three aspects: improving the system and mechanism, creating cultural characteristics, and improving the quality and efficiency of education, it discusses the practical path of promoting the network of ideological and political education in colleges and universities, and shows the innovative application and effectiveness evaluation of the media convergence in the network ideological and political education in colleges and universities. Thus, it provides a new perspective and method for the theory and practice of university network ideological and political education. The opening chapter of The Dogs of Babel sets up the suspense of the death of the protagonist's wife, Lexy, who fell from an apple tree.It unfolds for the reader Paul's quest to discover the truth about his wife Lexy's death in the form of reminiscences by the main character, Paul.The only witness to Lexy's fall from the tree is a Rhodesian Ridgeback, which Paul the linguist hopes to make talk. In the course of his efforts, memories of Lexy converge gradually and the gap between husband and wife emerges progressively. The presence of a feminist element in the Dog of Babel cannot be ignored, and this paper attempts to explore some of the feminism and the female predicament shown by Lexy from a feminist perspective.

In this study, the author used questionnaires and interviews to investigate the current situation and influencing factors of students' career orientation in three universities in Western China. The results show that the career orientation of college students in the western region is relatively simple, concentrated in relatively stable fields, and they do not have creativity and daring. Social factors, family factors, and school factors all affect their career perception and choice. Therefore, the author gives corresponding suggestions from the government level, the university level, the family level, and the individual level, so as to help the western region form a healthy and scientific career structure, and benefit the development of society and individuals.

Blended learning environments bring new dimensions to the teaching capabilities of college instructors while also presenting novel challenges. Addressing these challenges requires investigation not only at the theoretical and policy levels but also in terms of individual awareness and practical implementation. Grounded in the control-value theory, this study scrutinizes the teaching evaluation design, control-value assessment, and students' learning motivation in blended courses within the blended online, online, and offline classroom settings. The study aims to explore the intricate relationships among these three components. The findings reveal that the teaching evaluation design of blended curriculum has no direct and significant impact on students' learning motivation in college classrooms. However, it does exert an indirect influence on students' learning motivation through control evaluation and value assessment. The outcomes of this research contribute to enhancing instructors' comprehension of the mechanisms that stimulate students' learning motivation in a blended curriculum context. Subsequently, it offers valuable insights for interventions to enhance students' learning motivation in college classrooms.

Background: Nursing students' attitudes toward older adults was considered as one of the main reasons of willingness to provide elderly care. Previous studies could not consider the heterogeneity characteristics of nursing students' attitudes towards older adults. This study was to identify nursing students' attitude towards the elderly using Latent Profle Analysis (LPA) and discussed the influence factors of different potential attitudes. Methods: 622 participants were included. Palmore's Facts on Aging Quiz, Kogan's Attitude Toward Older People Scale and Interpersonal Reactivity Index were completed. LPA and Logistic regression were used to categorize participants into distinct KAOP subgroups and identify predictors of KAOP subgroup classification, respectively. Results: Latent Profles Analysis produced two profiles: Positive attitude (60.1%, n = 373), negative attitude (39.9%, n = 249). Positive attitude towards the elderly was decreased from 95.8% to 60.1% based on the population heterogeneity. Logistic regression analysis revealed that multiple-child family, the relationship with older adults, knowledge of aging, perspective-taking and empathic concern affect nursing students' attitude towards the elderly. Conclusions: Targeted interventions to improve attitudes might focus on those subgroups from person-oriented approach through helping them to build good relationship with older adults, strengthening knowledge of aging and cultivating empathy.

Since modern times, the feudal autocratic Qing government and the advanced western capitalist countries have been defeated many times in the battle, and the reflection on the defeat provides the background for the spread of evolution. Under the birth of the theory of evolution, the Chinese national bourgeoisie actively explored the road of China's independence and prosperity. Kang Youwei, Liang Qichao and Yan Fu spread the theory of evolution to provide public opinion support for the Reform. After the failure of the Hundred Days' Reform, more reformers were forced to join the camp of bourgeois revolutionaries. A group of bourgeois revolutionaries, such as Sun Yat-sen and Zhang Taiyan, vigorously propagated the revolutionary evolution theory, and the emergence of modern nationalism, especially in the debate on evolution between revolutionaries and reformists, highlighted the characteristics of revolutionary evolution. The development of evolutionism in China at the end of Qing Dynasty and the beginning of Republic was not only influenced by western science and culture, but also restricted by Chinese traditional culture. The spread and development of the theory of evolution not only promoted the development of China's Enlightenment movement, but also led to the vigorous revolution of 1911 in the early 20th century.

Since ancient times, China has been pursuing the beauty of symmetry and harmony. As symmetry has gradually become a spiritual pursuit, symmetry is often reflected in everyday expressions, just like the idiom "dong X xi Y" which is used frequently in daily communication. Adopting the methods of quantitative and qualitative analysis, based on Construction Grammar Theory, this study first defined "dong X xi Y" as a symmetrical construction, and proposed a cognitive analysis framework of symmetrical construction "dong X xi Y" to analyze its constructional meaning, the construction coercion phenomenon contained in it, and its cognitive motivation. Results show that (1) the constructional meaning of symmetrical construction "dong X xi Y" includes polar construction meaning and critical construction meaning; (2) the "dong X xi Y" construction suppresses the parts of speech and semantics of X and Y; (3) subjectivity is the cognitive motivation of symmetrical construction "dong X xi Y". The study of the symmetrical construction "dong X xi Y" is of great importance for the deeper understanding of the internal structure of the construction and its internal complexity, and in the future it is hoped to provide a cognitive reference for similar constructions.

As symmetry has gradually become a spiritual pursuit, symmetry is often reflected in everyday expressions, just like the idiom \"dong X xi Y\" which is used frequently in daily communication. Adopting the methods of quantitative and qualitative analysis, based on Construction Grammar Theory, this study first defined \"dong X xi Y\" as a symmetrical construction, and proposed a cognitive analysis framework of symmetrical construction \"dong X xi Y\" to analyze its constructional meaning, the construction coercion phenomenon contained in it, and its cognitive motivation. Results show that (1) the constructional meaning of symmetrical construction \"dong X xi Y\" includes polar construction meaning and critical construction meaning; (2) the \"dong X xi Y\" construction suppresses the parts of speech and semantics of X and Y; (3) subjectivity is the cognitive motivation of symmetrical construction \"dong X xi Y\".
