The rise of modern science has brought about "The Disenchantment of the World" summarized by Max Weber. Disenchantment means a fundamental change in the way of understanding the world. Scientific discourse with rationalization as its essential feature has replaced religious discourse with faith as its essential feature and has become the most dominant world view. Disenchantment shows the basic characteristics and trends of the overall development of society. It strips away the mysterious meaning of the world by criticizing the construction of the world by the subjective spirit, and uses scientific and technological rationality to present the structure and appearance of the world. In this process, the world becomes an object to be understood and transformed by "I", rather than a community that shares weal and woe. Descartes' metaphysical dualism and mechanism established the main view of nature at this stage. Nature has become a huge and complex mechanical system, and mathematics and geometry are the most effective tools to describe mechanical systems. In an era when the world has become a machine, forests have also lost their subject status and become objects to be analyzed mathematically; at this stage, forests exist as "resources" in more and more places. Then people become users and beneficiaries of resources, and forests become the objects of human management and use. Scientific methods have become the main method in all fields of society. Forests that conform to mathematical ideals have become standard forests. Forests that were originally wild have become huge laboratories, filled with mathematical rules and human utility.

This paper investigates the stylistic and linguistic characteristics of Margaret Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale, a novel of Canadian origin. Employing a corpus-based approach, the researcher aims to analyze its stylistic features in-depth, focusing on specific predetermined categories. Quantitative analysis was facilitated through WordSmith 8.0 software, enabling the identification of keywords in context, which serve as indicators of the linguistic style within the selected corpus. Results indicate that the novel employs simple language and concise sentence structures. Moreover, it demonstrates lexical diversity, encompassing various themes with a higher type-token ratio (TTR), indicative of a diverse vocabulary. Notably, there is a notable prevalence of first-person singular pronouns throughout the text. Regarding content word distribution, verbs are the most frequently utilized, followed by nouns, pronouns, adverbs, and adjectives—additionally, the analysis of keywords aids in uncovering stylistic and linguistic elements embedded within the text.

After the beginning of the Cold War, an unprecedented consensus on the Cold War was formed in the United States. Civil organizations represented by the Ford Foundation deeply participated in the cultural Cold War led by the U.S. government through the way of identity reconstruction. In consideration of the Cold War, the Ford Foundation from the very beginning directed a large amount of funds and cultural projects to Asia, rather than to Europe and Latin America, which were traditionally close to the United States. Burma received early attention from the Ford Foundation because of its unique location. At the same time, the government of Burma was trying to maintain national unity and stability by reviving Buddhism, but was struggling with a lack of funds. So the government invited the Ford Foundation to help fund its Pali Project. While the latter agreed to provide cultural assistance to Burma, the ultimate goal was to enhance the understanding and identity of the Burmese people with Western culture, so as to better serve the US Cold War project.

The Palestinian - Israeli conflict has stirred up again, focusing on the global perspective. Why have conflicts between Palestine and Israel continued for nearly a century? The disputes between Palestine and Israel revolve around territorial and security issues. The deep-seated conflicts involve historical origins, religious beliefs, nationalism, international situations and other complex factors. Thousands of years of grievances and centuries of war have brought a heavy price to the people of the two countries. How will the "Palestinian - Israeli conflict" end? Where is the road to peace? It not only requires the two countries to trace their history, reflect on the present, and plan for the future, but also requires the coordinated intervention of all countries in the world and the joint efforts of global humanitarians.

Disaster movies, as a classic film genre, aim to present the essence of disasters and the brilliance of humanity through stunning audio-visual effects and a tragic aesthetic core. The commonality between Chinese and Korean disaster movies lies in their focus on "little people" within disasters, emphasizing "soft expression" of emotions and adopting parallel narratives and causal loops in their storytelling strategies. However, due to differences in the film industry systems and ideologies of the two countries, Chinese and Korean disaster movies diverge in thematic expression. Chinese disaster films often feature a strong national main theme and sentiments of patriotism and family, whereas Korean disaster films focus more on exposing human nature and reflecting on society. This paper will explore the commonalities and differences between Chinese and Korean disaster movies in terms of character development, narrative perspective, emotional presentation, and social values.

Based on the survey data of 407 college students from a private university in Hangzhou, this study uses the theory of planned behavior to construct the hypothesis of college students' campus garbage classification behavior, and focuses on analyzing the mechanism of college students' campus garbage classification attitude, subjective norms and perceived behavior control on their behavioral intention of campus garbage classification. The results show that college students' attitude towards garbage classification, subjective norms of garbage classification and perceived behavior control of garbage classification have significant positive effects on garbage classification intention. In terms of grade, postgraduate students are more willing to sort campus garbage, followed by freshmen, and there are significant differences among all grades. In addition, the research conclusions of this paper can provide theoretical reference for government departments and universities to formulate strategies to promote college students' garbage sorting behavior.

This paper employs the theory of local knowledge, taking the Liugong Village History Museum in Guilin as the research object. It classifies the local knowledge in the village history museum into explicit and tacit types. The exertion of this local knowledge is closely related to the dynamic behavior, historical induction, and local context throughout the museum's development process. The cultural value of the village history museum lies in promoting local knowledge. From this perspective, the museum plays a role in localizing rural culture, creating cultural landmarks, and constructing a folk discourse system, thus becoming a "new" coordinate in the context of rural cultural revitalization.

The formation of the legal consciousness of literati seal engravers in the late Qing Dynasty can be attributed to various factors, one of which is the inheritance of ancient culture. Seal engravers have deep education in literatures, art, philosophy and other ancient periods such as the pre-Qin and -Han dynasties. Therefore, the appreciation and studies on ancient seal engravings have led them to form a legal consciousness. At the same time, they also highly admire classic calligraphy and painting, with the seal carving works in previous calligraphy and painting works highly respected. Scholars and seal carvers improve their artistic level by learning and imitating the works of previous seal carvers, drawing on ancient aesthetic standards and techniques in their creations. They pursue independent literary and artistic creations, emphasizing individual expressions, while also having a profound understanding and respect for traditional culture. Under the guidance of this ideology, adopting the teaching of ancient people has become a way to express one's own personalities. The method has become a way for literati to express their personalities and seek their self-identity. By imitating and innovating from their predecessors, they seek spiritual comfort and stability in turbulent times.
