The influence of the composition of press powders based on alumina CT 3000 LS SG, quasi-isostatic pressing and firing parameters on the structural and mechanical characteristics of grinding balls with a diameter of 40 mm is shown. Process parameters of production of high-density corundum balls are optimized on the basis of revealed regularities. The results of complex studies of physical and mechanical properties of ceramic articles are given. The determining effect of the particle size of raw material component on the hardness, density and operational characteristics of the grinding bodies was revealed.

At the moment, about ten different methods for obtaining silicon carbide ceramic materials have been developed. This paper presents the mechanisms and describes the advantages and disadvantages of the most commonly used in practice methods of forming and sintering SiC powders. The main properties and applications of the resulting ceramic products are indicated.

The results of grinding powdered, solid zirconium and aluminum oxides in various grinding units: ball, planetary and bead mills are presented. The grinding materials were: partially yttrium-stabilized zirconium dioxide of the PSZ-5,5Y brand (USA) and alumina with an alpha phase content of more than 99,0 wt. % of the brand Almatis CT 3000 GS (Germany). It is shown that in order to obtain high-purity, ultrafine oxide powders, it is advisable to use bead mills with zirconium dioxide grinding balls with dimensions of 0,6‒0,8 mm, with a ratio of M : W, as 1 : 4 and a specific grinding energy of 0,6‒0,8 kW. Achieving the ultrafine state of the initial oxide powders activates their solid-phase sintering, increases the density of ceramic materials: for aluminum oxide from 3,50‒3,78 g/cm3, for zirconium oxide from 5,40‒5,89 g/cm3.

Изучены особенности влияния покрытий TiB2 и BN на деформацию и напряженное состояние поверхностного слоя Si3N4‒TiC-керамики под действием силового нагружения. Установлено, что покрытие BN более благоприятно влияет на напряженно‒деформированное состояние структурных элементов керамики, чем покрытие TiB2. Влияние покрытий TiB2 и BN на напряженное состояние границы между керамикой и покрытием не столь однозначно: в пользу каждого покрытия свидетельствуют по три коэффициента.
