The article investigates the specifics of naming of collective and private accommodation facilities located in the towns Apatity and Kirovsk, Murmansk region. The paper gives a working classification of the accommodation facilities and analyzes their names based on some semantic characteristics. The author draws conclusions about the dominance of the natural-geographical component in the structure of the tourist image of the region. However, this does not always conform to official positioning of Murmansk oblast as a region with rich history and culture and to the idea that the latter are just as important for development of the tourism industry in this territory as recreational resources.

After the annexation of the Azerbaijani lands to the Russian Empire, the Russian-speaking population gradually began to move to these territories of Transcaucasia, as a result of which there was a need to create educational institutions for immigrants. There was no state-owned men's gymnasium in Baku, but a private gymnasium was opened, established on the initiative of citizens. Subsequently, its status was upgraded to a classical men's gymnasium, the history of which is devoted to this work. The article for the first time examines the ethnic, class, confessional composition, and academic performance of students. The list of subjects taught the financial condition of the educational institution and the costs of maintaining the teaching staff and conducting classes were also in the field of view. Additionally, the impact of the revolutionary events of 1905 on the organization of the educational activities of the men's gymnasium in the Baku province was assessed.

The article contains a presentation of the concept and preliminary results of the new virtual project "Collectors of the Russian Ethnographic Museum", launched in 2021. Its purpose is to recreate individual portraits of scientists, correspondents and museum staff, personal and creative biographies of those who during the XIX — early XXI c., and were associated with the museum field. The fates of some of them are quite well known, others are little studied due to various circumstances. It's not just the famous specialists (ethnographers, linguists, folklorists, archaeologists, historians, etc.) and correspondents, but also representatives of different social circles, scientific and political views, levels of education, nationalities, confessions, ages, characters; with different motivation for ethnographic research and subjective approaches to their own collecting activities. Currently, according to the concept and well-thought-out scheme, materials about more than 130 people have been published, more than 30 museum employees participated in their creation. The article deals with the previously unexplored issue of the consecration of the holy tables of the parish churches of the Kola deanery in the first half of the XIX century. The research is based on the data of the statements compiled for the Arkhangelsk Ecclesiastical Consistory in 1844 and preserved in the National Archive of the Republic of Karelia. For the first time, the number of main and additional holy tables in the churches of the deanery district is determined and the features of the existing spectrum of church names are revealed. It turns out that the system of patronal dedications of the existing temples was formed at the end of the XIV–XVII centuries under the influence of the monastic culture of the region and was characterized by stability. In the deanery there were developed traditions of veneration of popular saints of the Ancient Church.

Since 1973, the Kola expedition of the IHMC RAS has discovered and studied 4 rock art sites located in the Arctic. They demonstrate both similarities with other sites of Fennoscandia and significant differences. Individual figures and their compositions are classified into a small number of types. This suggests that it was not “scenes from life” that were depicted, but mythological subjects.

The article is devoted to archives kept in families with German roots. Interest in them is due to the fact that they contribute to the study of the history of everyday life as an individual representative of the genus, and the community as a whole. Archives were created in order to preserve the memory of the history of the family for posterity. The data on tribal and family archives are presented. Five generic and ten family archives have been presented. The composition of the archives is reviewed in the article. The composition of the archives indicates which documents are significant for the family. The archive materials contain interesting information and can be used as a source for studying the history of family-related communities with German ancestry.

The author shows the special significance of the collected in the 1930s–1960s, both published and stored in the Scientific Archive of the Karelian Science Сentre (SA KarRC RAS), autobiographical materials and memoirs about the Civil War and allied intervention in Russian Karelia. The process of transforming the collective memory of participants and eyewitnesses of these dramatic events under the influence of the officially constructed Soviet discourse was covered. The relevance of studying historical experience and mechanisms of refraction and change in images of the past, the "image of the enemy" that took place over the years in the memory of witnesses of the era was noted. The origin of the used texts was established, their specifics were considered. At the same time, it was noted that the analyzed memories and materials cannot be considered a historical source of exclusively personal origin, since they inevitably bear the seal of the time when they were written or recorded by the collectors of "Stories about the Civil War in Karelia." Identified using the case study method, the "living evidence" of the past allows you to turn to the "human dimension" of time, seeing it from a historical and anthropological perspective.
