The influence of the storage time on the useful properties (cohesion, adhesion, stickiness) of silicone pressure-sensitive tapes (Si-PSA) was investigated. Two types of silicone resins PSA 529 and PSA 590 (Momentive, USA) were used and crosslinked with bis (2,4-dichlorobenzoyl) peroxide (DClBPO). There was no significant effect of tapes long-term storage (7 years) on their properties. The tapes based on PSA 590 resin were more resistant to aging than PSA 529.

The structure and geometrical accuracy of injection-molded gears made of PA6, PA66 and PPA filled with glass fiber (30, 35 and 50%) were investigated. Using the AMI software, the injection mold cavity and the injection point distribution were simulated and the orientation of the glass fibers in the product was determined. SEM analysis of the gears fracture surfaces confirmed the good adhesion and dispersion of the glass fiber in the polymer matrix. However, the low accuracy class of injection-molded gears may indicate the need to optimize the injection process, which will be the subject of further research.

The process of semicrystalline polymers thermo-oxidative degradation was analyzed on the example of isotactic polypropylene (iPP). Oxygen degradation takes place mainly in the amorphous phase into which oxygen diffuses. This leads to oxidation (formation of hydroperoxides) and next the chains scission. The polymer becomes brittle and breaks down into small pieces (e.g. microplastics). The crystalline phase is more difficult to access for oxygen that initiates the thermo-oxidation process. An increase in the crystallinity degree and a decrease in the viscosity of the solutions diluted in p-xylene as a function of the degradation time were observed. The number of iPP chain scission (change in molecular weight) as a function of degradation time was also calculated. These values depend on the polymer initial crystallinity degree and its supermolecular structure.

The stable emulsions from oxidized polyethylene waxes with the use of various non-ionic emulsifiers from the group of fatty alcohol ethoxylates with HLB in the range 11−16 were obtained. The effectiveness of the emulsification was assessed by measuring the dispersed phase particle size and the emulsion stability. The highest emulsifying efficiency was achieved using a non-ionic emulsifier with HLB of 16.3.

The article presents the results of strength tests of screw-nut threaded connections made of polymeric materials such as: ABS, PLA, PET-G and RGD720. In order to make physical models, three 3D printing techniques were used: Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF), and PolyJet. The tests took into account the stresses caused by the axial force generated when the bolt is screwed into the nut or other structural element. Due to the complexity of the issue, the presented studies are only a starting point for further research.

The effect of natural and thermo-oxidative aging on the structure and physicochemical properties of LDPE films stabilized with hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS) was investigated. Based on multiple linear regression analysis (MLRA) mathematical models to predict the lifetime of the LDPE were developed. Four statistical criteria were used to evaluate the developed models: residual variance, coefficient of determination, Student's test and the Fisher-Snedecor test. The half-life times predicted by the mathematical models were found to be statistically significant (p < 0.05).

The influence of co-solvents such as: dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO), isopropyl alcohol (IPA), ethylene glycol (EG), ethanol (EtOH) and deionized water (DI) on the properties of ink based on poly(3,4-ethylene dioxythiophene), poly(sulfonostyrene) and silver nanoparticles (PEDOT/PSS/SNP) blends was investigated. The ink was obtained by the ultrasonic dispersion method by mixing PEDOT, PSS and SNP and then adding co-solvents. The ink was applied to the cotton fabric by printing method. The structure, electrical and functional properties of fabrics were investigated. The increase in electrical conductivity was found as a result of the phase separation between PEDOT and PSS due to the use of co-solvents. SEM micrographs showed good adhesion of the ink to the cotton fiber, which was confirmed by the FTIR method. The developed ink has great application potential, especially in electronic devices for biomedical purposes.
