Polyimide/nano-Al2O3composite films based on Pyromellitic diancompositee (PMDA) and 4,4'-Oxydianiline (ODA) were prepared by ultrasonic-mechanical method. Before addition, nano-Al2O3particles were firstly modified by coupling agent DB550. The morphology and properties of composite films with different contents of DB550 were investigated. Results indicated that the addition of coupling agent and its weight content had a remarkable effect on the microstructure, and electric breakdown strength of composite films. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images showed that nano-Al2O3 particles were relatively well dispersed in the polyimide matrix after the addition of coupling agent. When the content of coupling agent DB550 was 2 wt%, the electric breakdown strength of PI/nano-Al2O3composite films was the best and when the content of coupling agent DB550 was 3 wt%, the mechanical properties of PI/nano-Al2O3composite films were the best.

The features of scene text images determine the scene text low-quality. Existing method can not handle the issue. A method is proposed in the paper which makes use the frequency and direction selectivity of Gabor function and constructs a suitable wavelet transform to extract the feature of characters. And further the improved Gabor wavelet based on scale overlapping is proposed. The scale overlap reinforces the selection of Gabor filters to strokes width. Thus, a high robustness feature is obtained. The experiments show that the method is with good performance and is able to deal effectively with low-quality texts.

In this paper, the problem of robust guaranteed cost sampled-data control is investigated for a linear system with norm bounded time-varying parametric uncertainties. By applying an input delay approach, the system is transformed into a continuous time-delay system. Using the Lyapunov stability theory and linear matrix inequality (LMIs) method, a robust guaranteed cost sampled-data control law is derived to guarantee that the asymptotical stability of the closed-loop system and the quadratic performance index less a certain bound for all admissible uncertainties. Sufficient conditions for the existence of state-feedback controller are obtained in the form of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). A convex optimization problem is formulated to obtain the optimal state-feedback controller which can minimize the quadratic performance level. The effectiveness of the proposed method can be illustrated by the simulation example.

According to the structure characteristics of Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM), its physical model and control system were built basing on the theory of electromagnetic field. After solving it, inductance curve varying depending on the rotor rotation is got. Then torque, phase current and flux linkage are researched. Compared the calculated results with the test data, it proved that the method for computing SRM electromagnetic property in this paper is practical, and it improved the computational accuracy. It provides theory basis for SRM further study.

This paper adopts the internationally acknowledged evaluation principles and profoundly builds up the comprehensive evaluation index system and objective function as for the problems of one-sidedness and subjectivity existing in the current product evaluation system, and calculates objective weight of each index. It has brought forth the comprehensive evaluation method to compare product level according to membership values, establishment of objective function, and studies the entropy weight computation model of diverse indexes in addition to the comprehensive evaluation approach of diverse weighting. Verifies through example, this approach helps solve the common problems in product evaluation at the current level and furnishes the clients with theoretical reference for product selection.

The effect of Y addition on the average grain size and mechanical properties of Ni-Mn-Sn magnetic shape memory alloys is studied by means of optical microscope, compressive test and scanning electron microscope (SEM) observation in the paper. The results show that Y addition refines the grains of Ni-Mn-Sn alloy obviously and significantly enhances the compressive strength and maximum compressive strain. In addition, the fracture type changes from typical intergranular crack to transgranular crack gradually with Y addition into Ni-Mn-Sn FSMAS.

This paper develops the simulation model of the tidal current power generation system by using the matrix converter (MC) to control synchronous generator (SG) instead of traditional back-to-back converter. The direct MC with space vector modulation technique is used to control the synchronous generator. The performance of the proposed MC controlled SG system is simulated for its validity.

If the smart grid concept is realized, present protection strategy of distribution systems is not applicable any more because of bi-directional fault currents. In this paper, a fault location method is suggested for a distribution system with multi-power sources. Assuming that loading condition is not changed abruptly, and that voltage and current phasors are available at both ends, faulted section is identified and fault location is calculated iteratively. The suggested method is applied to a simple distribution system with power sources at both ends to show its possibility of application and effectiveness.

The paper considers computer sign language translation technology for deaf people. A detailed characteristic of the Russian text analysis stage, including prior semantic and semantic interpretation within the framework of developing a program for Russian text computer sign language translator into colloquial Russian sign language is given. Problems arising at this stage are also emphasized. Peculiarities of the Russian sign language grammatical system necessary to take into account when developing a computer sign language translator are singled out.

Gaussian filter acts as the filter for roundness signal processing and a new implementation approach for Gaussian filter is presented. Based on the theory of B-spline function, the variational principle with the tension condition and the convolution characteristic of Gaussian filter with small scale, the approximation filter of Gaussian filter is concluded, which has the amplitude characteristic deviation from Gaussian filter less than 1% and the zero-phase-shift characteristic. The algorithm for the approximation filter consists of the zero-phase-shift filtering and the weighing filtering which loop two times. The algorithm is both simply in its structure and high in its filtering efficiency. The method of cycle continuation solves the edge effects of digital filtering based on the periodicity of the roundness measurement signal. The approximation filter is also efficient and accurate for the implementation of Gaussian filter in the application of roundness measurement.
