Possibility estimation of determining carbon dioxide sources by the spaceborne lidar 星载激光雷达测定二氧化碳源的可能性估计

An analysis of the differential optical depth from the lidar signals simulated by IPDA on board the space platform in detecting carbon dioxide sources is presented, and estimates of the limiting capabilities and technical characteristics of a possible lidar system are given. Interannual variability of CO2 content in the atmosphere of the south of Western Siberia according to satellite observations in 2014-2021 基于2014-2021年卫星观测的西伯利亚西部南部大气CO2含量年际变率

The behavior of the total carbon dioxide content in the atmosphere of the south of Western Siberia (48°–53° N, 60°– 90° E) has been studied using data from the orbital carbon observatories OCO-2 and OCO-3. OCO-2 data analysis was carried out for the period 2014-2021, OCO-3 results have been added to processing since 2019. To describe the seasonal cycle of CO2 content in the atmosphere of the region, we use an empirical model that was proposed for the interpretation of GOSAT satellite data and verified by the results of measurements of TCCON the global network of ground stations. It was found that for the studied period the increase rate of CO2 in the atmosphere of the region is about 2.48 ppm/year, and the amplitude of seasonal fluctuations is about 9.3 ppm. The possibility of applying satellite data with sufficient precision, coverage, and resolution to support of works on the carbon polygons in the south of Western Siberia was analyzed.

When studying the condensation growth of atmospheric aerosol, many researchers note the dependence of hygroscopic properties on the particle size. In this work we consider the relationship between the parameter of condensation activity and the parameters of particle size distribution in the nanometer range on the example of test measurements. Due to the small amount of data, the results are preliminary.

Interactions of stationary planetary waves during winter 2008-2009 and 2018-2019 sudden stratospheric warmings 2008-2009年冬季和2018-2019年平流层突然变暖期间静止行星波的相互作用

In the stratosphere, there is a correlation between changes in the amplitudes of stationary planetary waves. This correlation is most clearly manifested during sudden stratospheric warmings (SSWs). An analysis of wave-wave and wave-mean flow interactions during winter 2008-2009 and 2018-2019 sudden stratospheric warmings was made using the equation of perturbed potential enstrophy. It is shown that wave-wave interactions make the least contribution to the wave activity variation during the 2008-2009 SSW, the contribution of all interactions is comparable during the 2018-2019 SSW.

The use of spectral parameters of temperature fluctuations in estimating the structure constant of turbulence 利用温度波动的光谱参数估计湍流的结构常数

The structure constant of refractive index fluctuations is one of the most important characteristics of atmospheric turbulence affecting the propagation of optical radiation. However, in a real atmosphere, the conditions of homogeneity and isotropy of turbulence, which are necessary for a correct experimental estimation of the structure constant and its further use in calculations, are not always realized. In 1, to characterize real turbulence, it is proposed to use an equivalent structure constant calculated by introducing a scaling factor depending on the parameters of the spectrum of turbulent fluctuations - the outer scale and the exponent of the spectrum. In order to assess the possibility of using this approach, the report presents the results of calculations of an equivalent structure constant based on spectral processing of sonic weather station data.

Automatic selection of digital hologram registration parameters 自动选择数字全息图配准参数

The quality of particle images reconstructed from digital holograms depends on the choice of parameters for digital holograms recording — the exposure time of a digital camera, the laser radiant power, and the laser pulse duration. The problem of automatically choosing the parameters for recording a digital hologram under conditions of a changing optical transmission of the aquatic medium while studying plankton in its habitat arises. Using the maximum of digital hologram contrast as a criterion for choosing the parameters for recording a digital hologram to obtain the best quality particles images reconstructed from a digital hologram is proposed.

The phenomenon of atmospheric mirror reflection 反射大气镜面反射的现象

Consideration of the results of the interaction of electromagnetic radiation with non-spherical atmospheric particles with anisotropic properties is of both scientific and practical interest. Particular attention should be paid to the interaction of directed optical radiation with spatially oriented atmospheric ice crystals. Failure to take into account the mirror image of optical radiation from an ensemble of spatially oriented atmospheric particles of non-spherical shape can distort model representations, significantly complicate the interpretation of the results obtained and lead to incorrect interpretation of some phenomena observed in the atmosphere. The paper considers some results of observations of the phenomenon of mirror reflection from horizontally-oriented flat crystal parts localized in the atmosphere. This study was supported by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

The current algorithm for retrieval of the optical and microphysical properties of clouds from satellite measurement data involves the use of independent pixel approximation and a model of plane-parallel horizontally and vertically homogeneous clouds for each pixel of satellite image, that in some situations can lead to large retrieval errors. The paper describes an alternative approach based on applying neural networks trained using the results of 3D simulation of solar radiation transfer in the Earth’s atmosphere in the presence of a field of broken horizontally inhomogeneous clouds. To generate a cloud field realization, the fractal multiplicative bounded cascade model is used. The examples of modeling the stratocumulus clouds by means of the bounded cascade model are considered. The model is successfully tested using the MODIS image of stratocumulus cloud scene.
