Attacks on servers to bring their services down is growing rapidly. There are several possible methods through which attackers can attack a server. Distributed denials of service (DDoS) attacks are one of these attacks types in computing environments. In this paper, we discuss the possible ways of DDoS attacks detection using artificial neural network based techniques. Here a feed forward neural network is designed to detect DDoS attacks in a network based environment. Performance of feed forward neural network is analyzed by applying three different training algorithms. These algorithms are (1) Scaled Conjugate Gradient (2) Bayesian Regularization and (3) Gradient Descent. Results show that Bayesian Regularization algorithm is better among these three training algorithms and it has less number of misclassifications.

In deserts an increase or even a small change in temperature can set ideal conditions for drought; the prolonged conditions can lead to an agricultural drought from the metrological drought. We have applied SPSS and SPI to investigate Global climate model temperature variation as a drought driven element. Met-data of two meteorological stations was analyzed to reveal the condition. The obtained results show that temperature has risen from 1oC to2.5oCin20th century. The data also demonstrates a negative correlation between temperature and drought.

Ethnoveterinary practices are very common in Pakistan due to the poor socioeconomic status of the rural farmers. The traditional veterinary healers are therefore getting more attention from farmers. Thirty mastitic goats were selected and divided into five equal groups viz; A, B1, B2, C1 and C2. Groups were treated as A: control (no treatment), B1: parental injections of amoxicillin with clavulanic acid and flunixinmaglumine, B2: trimethoprim with sulphadiazene and flunixinmaglumine, C1: oral treatment of Garlic (Allium Sativium L.) and Turmeric (Curcuma Longa L.), C2: Purple fleabane (Centratherum Anthelmenticum) and Turmeric (Curcuma Longa L.). The bacterial load of clinical mastitis before and after treatment was measured. The bacterial load was noticed significantly reduced in group B, followed by C compared with A at 7th and 14th day of conventional and traditional treatments respectively. Furthermore, on day 28th of trial the right teat bacterial load was significantly reduced in all treated groups vs control. Out of 1260 milk samples, the clinical and subclinical mastitis was observed in 65 (5.15%) and 226 (23.1 %) animals respectively. The temperature, pulse, respiration, udder circumference and cumulative bacterial load were elevated in untreated animals and on 0 day, which further subsides following treatment in different groups. The milk quantity was seriously reduced in mastitic goats, however some of the lost milk quantity was recovered following different treatments. It has been revealed that the medicinal plants can also be used effectively at very low cost but recovery is slow.

Now a day’s telecom industry is facing real problem of improving IT processes. PI projects are widely used to overcome these challenges but unfortunately these projects do not have long lasting success results. In this tech savvy era, IT projects are crucial for survival in Telecom industry. Therefore, there is a need for reengineering of PI projects and identification of the critical success factors which are inattentive. The present study was conducted to fill this gap and robust the existing process of implementation of PI in IT projects. Field survey was conducted using 5 likert scale questionnaire, based on extracted critical success factors. In order to collect the data, Purposive sampling was used along Delphi technique. 6 out of 10 experts responded in each subsequent round. Data was analyzed in SPSS. This beautiful universe is full of mathematical and engineering problems involving nonlinear equations 𝑓(𝑥)=0. The main theme of this paper is to develop an Algorithm to enhance the speed and convergence of bracketing methods for determining the root of nonlinear equations. For this cause, Newton forward interpolation difference formula and Bisection Method are recruit. Developed interpolation technique method guarantees that it converges towards thereal root faster than Bisection Method and RegulaFalsi Method. Few numerical examples are also conferred in this paper to inspect the efficiency of developed method and compared with other existing methods. It is examined from the results that the performance of developed method is better than the existing methods such as Bisection Method and RegulaFalsi Method.

Though now a days Hostel life is much essential for students but still there are some restrictions. There are many complications in the hostel life. For this purpose, we investigate the student’s satisfaction with hostel facilities. During the analysis, the student’s feedback for the hostel facilities for the year 2015 and 2016 were taken and the data has been collected from the Director Management Information System (MIS). Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS17) was used to analyze and shows the overall students satisfaction regarding hostel facilities. The results indicated that there is strong evidence of significance relationship between the results of the parameters (Food Quality, Cleanliness, Water supply and First aid) services. The null hypothesis is accepted except for only two parameters of Shah Abdul Latif, Shaikh Sindhi and Bakhtawar hostels.

The null hypothesis is accepted except for only two parameters of Shah Abdul Latif, Shaikh Sindhi and Bakhtawar hostels.","PeriodicalId":21859,"journal":{"name":"Sindh University Research Journal","volume":"29 1","pages":"95-100"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87209217","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Construction projects are usually over budget and beyond their planned schedule. One possible reason for these situations is that proper risk management techniques are not applied during the planning and execution of projects. This paper introduces a method which uses the impacts of risk in project scheduling. A simple infrastructure project is considered for analysis. Uncertainty in activity durations is assigned using various statistical distributions. Further, certain risk events are added to the project using risk register. The impact of these uncertainties in activity durations and risk events are modeled and simulated in @Risk software. The software uses Monte Carlo simulations for risk analysis. The results show that the model can predict the impact of uncertainty in activity durations on the pro-ject completion time. The additional days added to the planned schedule because of occurrence of risk events can also be predicted with confidence. The results provide confirmation that risks associated with project schedules can be managed if properly accounted for
