Memory is considered as an important cognitive domain found to be important in our daily-walks of life. Short term and long term memory are considered as the main variants under memory. The information in short term memory is prone to be transferred to the long term memory through attention, practice, rehearsal. The current study aims to investigate the effect of modality on transfer of linguistic stimuli from short to long term memory. 20 neuro-typical Tamil speaking participants were recruited for the study. The participants were divided into two groups based on random sampling. Auditory task was administered on the first group where the participants were presented with sentences and were asked to remember the key/content word. While auditory plus visual task was administered on the second group of participants. Recall of key/content words was tested at the level of immediate and delayed recall conditions. On immediate recall condition, there was no difference between the two groups but on delayed recall condition, modality of stimulus presentation had a significant role as the group presented with auditory stimulus performed well compared to the group presented with auditory plus visual modalities

Family of origin is the first environment for children to grow up and study. With the development of society, people pay more and more attention to the mental health of college students. Based on the concept of family of origin and combined with the analysis of the influence of counselor’s work on harmonious family of origin on college students’ mental health, this paper puts forward some thoughts on mental health education from three angles: family, children and school, which is of great significance to the development of college students’ physical and mental health.

In view of the current situation that the ideological and political effects of Chinese college courses are not very satisfactory and the anti-China waves in the West are constantly trying to provoke the color revolution, this study carried out an education experiment on the achievements of China’s reform and opening up for one semester among 232 college students of ZW University in China. The experiment found that nearly 90% of the 117 students in the experimental group who participated in the activity of “picture/video translation comparison+C2C international communication” accepted and affirmed the education model, and have significantly improved their patriotic consciousness, life belief, career ideal, plans for the postgraduate entrance examination, and enthusiasm for learning, and has greatly improved their English application ability, spread Chinese stories, and made friends with foreign netizens. However, 115 students in the control group who did not participate in the activity to maintain their original learning and living conditions had no significant changes in the above test indicators. At the same time, the final exam scores of the three English major courses in the experimental group were 16.69% higher than those in the control group.

Soft-skill development is increasingly gaining importance in secondary education, and extra-curricular activities are an important component of the curriculum to develop them. The purpose of this study was to investigate the state and effectiveness of extracurricular activities (ECAs) in fostering the development of soft skills among students in a selected public secondary school in the Lushoto district of Tanzania. The study had two objectives, namely, to identify types of existing extracurricular activities in selected public secondary schools and to verify the availability of extracurricular activities’ facilities and infrastructure that would enhance the development of soft skills among students in the district. This study employed a mixed-methods research approach and a convergent design. We sampled a total of 298 respondents, including 276 students, 15 extracurricular activities teachers, 5 heads of school, and 2 ward education officers. The research tools included questionnaires, an interview guide, a focus group discussion, and an observation guide. The data was analysed through descriptive and thematic analysis. The findings revealed that the kinds of extracurricular activities practiced in visited secondary schools can be grouped into four categories, namely: sports and games; academic; production-related activities, including beekeeping and gardening; and social clubs. It was revealed that facilities and infrastructure for these activities were very limited. The study concluded that the kinds of extracurricular activities offered in the secondary schools in the district are inadequate for students, which leads them to complete secondary education without adequate soft skills for them to start an independent life. This leads them to fail to seize opportunities around them with the current high unemployment rate and turn to criminal behaviour. Extracurricular activities such as sports and games, debating clubs, farming activities, and subject clubs are important aspects in the development of a student and should be a priority for practice in public secondary schools nationwide. The implications of the findings for future curriculum reviews and school supervision are discussed.

We describe here a study that assessed school community involvement in implementing a School Summary Report Card (SSRC) in public secondary schools: in Mpanda District in Katavi Region, Tanzania. The study had three specific objectives, which were to evaluate the awareness of the school community in the implementation of SSRC in school progress, examine the level of community participation in the implementation of SSRC, and explore the challenges of implementing SSRC. The study was guided by an open systems theory which originated from the General System Theory and approach by Ludwing Von Bertalanffy, in 1950s after World War II (Scott & Davis, 2016). Data were collected through questionnaires to 45 teachers; interviews with 5 heads of schools, 3 Ward Educational Officers, and 1 District School Quality Assurance Officer. Focused Group Discussions were conducted with 50 students and 35 community members. We also performed school observation and documents review. Descriptive statistics and thematic analysis were used to analyze the data. The findings indicate that the majority of the teachers and community members were not made aware of the use of SSRC. Low involvement of the school community members in the implementation of SSRC and also there varying interpretations of common symbols in the SSRC and mismatch between ratings of the SSRC indicators and the final valuation of the SSRC. The study recommends the conduction of a broader sensitization of the school community on what constitutes SSRC, and how to implement it to bring about an impact on the school and community

This paper examines university student experience during the COVID epidemic in 2020 and 2021 in two universities in Taiwan. The paper’s content is based on a questionnaire with 17 questions distributed to 35 students at National Taipei University of Business and National Taiwan University of Science and Technology in the fall 2021 semester. After an introduction that describes my experience teaching online in Taiwan in 2021, I allow students provide initial comments about their experience at school, home, and in normal life in the city of Taipei during the epidemic. From there I moved into methodology and theoretical background on the meaning and impact of the crisis. I then Provide additional information, including a look at behavior, emotions and practical measures taken during the epidemic. I then comment on the Taiwan government response to the epidemic, and the measures taken to ensure safety in Taiwan. There is then student evaluation of the broader view of the international impact of COVID. The paper then concludes with comments from teachers, and a look at the present and into the future, possibly post-COVID.

The chief object of this study is to survey the influence of fandom culture on the formation of primary school students’ values and guidance strategies. Past studies have examined the impact of worshiping stars on the values of teenagers, but there are no specific research or guidance strategies on the effects of fandom culture on the value formation of primary students who are still in the early stages of value formation. The method used in our study is known as the literature analysis method, participatory observation method, questionnaire method, and Data analysis method. The research has recorded valuable data about the influence of fandom culture on the formation of primary school students’ values and has proved that the formation of values of primary school students is hardly influenced by fandom culture. This research finally put forward useful strategies to guide primary school students to form correct values from various perspectives.

Preaching is a scriptural interpretation of human existence which enables a community to recognize God’s active presence, respond to that presence in faith through liturgical word and gesture, and beyond the liturgical assembly, through a life lived in conformity with the Gospel. Through the act of preaching, the preacher ought to reveal people’s hearts to themselves, give them the power to make judgments that liberate them, and imbue in them the confidence to face their fears with faith, hope and love. Given that young people today, (especially in this time of pandemic) are hungry and sometimes desperate for meaning in their lives, there ought to be a shift in preaching from mere scriptural interpretation to a kind of preaching which takes into consideration the concrete, existential and phenomenological realities of young people. This kind of preaching ought to assume a prophetic dimension if it is to effectively cater to young people or assure unwavering hope in this time of the pandemic (new-normal). In what follows, the paper critically examines some prevalent genres of preaching, how these genres of preaching cater to young people, and the most suitable genre of preaching to be adopted for use in the Nigerian Church today.

This article employs the method of critical discourse analysis to study the changing portrayal of the woman’s body. Our analysis shows the ways in which the woman’s body is constructed as silent, instrumentalized, sinful, and unclean in Holy Bible under the dominance of male discourses. Then we examined how the woman’s body is reconstructed as an independent and glorified entity in The Woman’s Bible, along with the subversion of male discourses by feminist renditions thereof. The study has implications for women who are fighting for their bodily rights.

There is a distinct relationship between the multiverse theory and the perception of truth when viewed through the lens of German Idealism. At their core, both theories are concerned with movement, or a constant state of flux. This paper draws two analogies between the multiverse theory and German Idealism. First, Kant’s theory of “the thing-in-itself” is posited as a rejection of the idea of a unified universe. Second, similarities are drawn between how the multiverse can be seen as layers of shifting reality and Hegel’s description of the road towards truth, which is filled with movements toward negation and advancement. Finally, the paper discusses how these analogies constitute a critique of scientism: the multiverse theory, as well as German Idealism’s concept of truth, both stand in direct contrast to how modernity places dogmatic and exaggerated trust in empirical science.
