Discrimination and Affirmative Action in University Admissions Procedures 大学录取程序中的歧视与平权行动

 The paper examines the legal issues surrounding discrimination and affirmative action in American university admissions, with a focus on their impact on students of different races, genders, disabilities, and immigrant statuses. The research includes a thorough analysis of existing laws, cases, and university practices. It proposes seventeen guidelines for developing fair race-conscious admission policies.The study finds a complex legal landscape where universities struggle to balance fairness, diversity, and legal requirements. The proposed guidelines aim to enhance fairness in admissions without compromising academic integrity. The paper offers a unique contribution by synthesizing legal perspectives into actionable guidelines for universities, thereby addressing the challenges of maintaining diversity and equality in admissions processes.

The Degree of Activation at Secondary School Principals in Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate for Technology in The Educational Process from The Point of View of Technology Teachers 从技术教师的角度看拉马拉和比雷省中学校长在教育过程中使用技术的积极程度

The current study aimed to reveal the degree of activation of secondary school principals in Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorate for technology in the educational process from the point of view of technology teachers, and to achieve the objective of the study, a questionnaire was developed consisting of (20) items distributed over three areas, and its validity and stability were verified, and then distributed to the study sample consisting of (165) teachers. It was selected in a simple random way, and the descriptive analytical approach was used in this study, and the results showed that the degree of activation of secondary school principals in Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorate for technology in the educational process from the point of view of technology teachers came with an average degree, as the arithmetic average of the tool as a whole was (3.28), and the results of the study showed that there were no statistically significant differences between the average scores of respondents on the total degree attributed to the gender variable, and years of experience, and in light of the results of the study, The researcher recommended a number of recommendations.

Unlocking Second Language Mastery Navigating the Complex Terrain of Adult Language Acquisition 掌握第二语言,驾驭成人语言习得的复杂地形

This paper mainly focuses on the more effective way that language learners who “escaped” during the critical period of acquiring a second language. In the paper, we use the methodology of bibliography to compare the essential differences between children and adult learners from the perspectives of linguistics, neurolinguistics, society and culturology, and further study SLA theory based on the author’s own educational experience. It is an indisputable fact that older language learners have less flexibility and plasticity than children due to their mature brains. However, it can be partially compensated for by cognitive ability and social experience thus overtaking a corner. Nonetheless, some points are especially worth paying attention to, such as the necessity to “design” the grammar into the structure of the paragraph to be the “guiding framework” of thinking; Learners should not be excessively concerned about the accuracy of grammar and words at academic level, so as to avoid negative emotions such as anxiety, which affect language learning, and is partly consistent with the SLA’s Affective Filter Hypothesis. This research offers fresh guidelines for students and teachers of second languages to consider contemporary methods of teaching and learning, particularly the “fanatics” of “natural acquired” or “academically structured education.” Additionally, researchers and teachers who consider upgrading teaching methods offer evidence and inspiration owing to the growing popularity of artificial intelligence.

With the application of big data in the information age, the popularization of artificial intelligence and the coming of the network society, the traditional university education model has been severely impacted and challenged. It is an inevitable trend for higher education to adapt to the new social development reality and make corresponding adjustment and reform. Traditional university education pays attention to the imparts of theoretical knowledge and the cultivation of practical ability, but in the information age, students can get rich information and knowledge through the Internet, thus weakening the monopoly of traditional education. In addition, the popularity of artificial intelligence technology also means that some traditional teaching activities can be replaced by automation and intelligence, and the value chain of traditional education has been reshaped. The rise of the network society has also posed new challenges to the traditional university education model. The network society is characterized by a high degree of information sharing and exchange, and students can access various online educational resources and learning opportunities through the network platform. Therefore, traditional university education needs to find a new positioning and role, pay more attention to cultivating innovative ability, practical ability and teamwork ability, and provide students with more competitive comprehensive ability. Faced with these challenges, higher education must make corresponding adjustments and changes. The article carries out relevant research and puts forward specific countermeasures, mainly to update the educational concept, change the educational mode, and focus on cultivating students’ innovative thinking and problem-solving ability. Interactive technology refers to the technology of realizing the dialogue between people and computers in an effective way through computer input and output equipment, which can greatly facilitate the work of various industries in China. Based on this, this paper takes the teaching of public art specialty as an example to discuss the teaching reform method in combination with interactive technology. This paper lists the value of interactive technology in public art teaching, the current situation of low application rate, lack of equipment and unbalanced teaching content, and the improvement methods by strengthening teacher training, introducing equipment and standardizing the use of technology.

With the development of information technology and modernization, the limitations of the traditional teaching mode of “teacher teaching-students listen” are becoming more and more obvious, which is mainly manifested in the low motivation of students in class, insufficient time for students to devote to class, and the quality and effect of teaching in general. In this context, this project is based on the non-accounting majors in Beijing Wuzi University, relying on the platform of “Rain Classroom”, to build a “flipped classroom” of accounting based on “Rain Classroom”, which combines online and offline teaching, builds a friendly interactive relationship between teaching and learning, and fully mobilizes students’ motivation to improve the quality and effect of teaching, so as to provide a certain reference for improving the informatization and upgrading level of higher education.

Academic burnout is becoming a prominent issue among adolescents, impacting their mental health and overall academic performance. This paper aims to review the effectiveness of group psychoeducation and expressive arts therapy interventions in addressing academic burnout in this population. Through an exploration of various studies and empirical evidence, this review provides an overview of the positive outcomes achieved by these interventions. While more research is needed to establish the long-term effects and generalizability of the findings, preliminary results suggest that both group psychoeducation and expressive arts therapy can be valuable tools in reducing academic burnout among adolescents.

Research on the Impact of Vocational Education on Total Factor Productivity and Mediating Effects 职业教育对全要素生产率的影响及中介效应研究

As an important type of education for cultivating high-quality technical and skilled talents, vocational education provides significant human capital support for the high-quality development of the economy. Based on panel data from 30 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities) in China from 2005 to 2020, this study employs the Malmquist productivity index to measure Total Factor Productivity (TFP). Using a two-way fixed effects and mediation effects model, the study empirically analyzes the impact and mechanisms of vocational education on TFP. The results show that the expansion of higher vocational education has a more significant effect on TFP growth compared to secondary vocational education, with a particularly pronounced influence in the eastern and western regions. The analysis of the mediating mechanisms reveals that human capital and technological innovation are important pathways through which vocational education promotes TFP growth. Therefore, to achieve high-quality development of vocational education and enhance TFP growth, it is recommended to moderately expand the scale, improve the vocational education training system, increase support for vocational education to narrow regional disparities, promote the integration of vocational education with industry to enhance the conversion rate of technological innovation, shift the focus from scale expansion to internal improvement, and promote regional coordinated development.
职业教育作为培养高素质技术技能人才的重要教育类型,为经济高质量发展提供了重要的人力资本支撑。本研究基于中国 30 个省(区、市)2005-2020 年的面板数据,采用 Malmquist 生产率指数来衡量全要素生产率(TFP)。研究采用双向固定效应和中介效应模型,实证分析了职业教育对全要素生产率的影响和作用机制。结果显示,与中等职业教育相比,高等职业教育的扩张对全要素生产率的增长具有更显著的影响,在东部和西部地区的影响尤为明显。中介机制分析表明,人力资本和技术创新是职业教育促进全要素生产率增长的重要途径。因此,要实现职业教育的高质量发展,提高全要素生产率增长,建议适度扩大规模,完善职业教育培养体系;加大对职业教育的支持力度,缩小地区差距;促进职业教育与产业融合,提高技术创新转化率;将工作重心从规模扩张转向内涵提升,促进区域协调发展。

The purpose of this paper is to explore how to implement the online and offline mixed teaching mode in the modern medical courses of TCM specialty under the guidance of the concept of “Internet + ideological and political integration”, and to explore its practical experience and remarkable results. With the power of today’s Internet technology, we will organically integrate ideological and political education into the modern medicine course of traditional Chinese medicine, so as to effectively promote the overall cultivation of students’ comprehensive quality, and further enhance the attraction of the course and educational benefits.
