A Comparative Study of Yuanti Flower-and-bird Paintings and Western Classical Still-life Paintings: A Formal and Thematic Analysis of Li Song’s “Basket of Flowers” and Caravaggio’s “Basket of Fruit” 元代花鸟画与西方古典静物画的比较研究:李松《花篮》与卡拉瓦乔《果篮》的形式与主题分析

In the context of globalization, cultural exchange between the East and West is becoming increasingly frequent, and painting serves as a unique perspective for exploring cultural differences. In particular, flower-and-bird paintings and still-life paintings, as two major traditional painting genres, share similarities in selecting the subject and pursuing realism while maintaining their artistic characteristics, which both act as effective research models for cross-cultural comparative studies. This paper selects Li Song’s “Basket of Flowers”, a representative of Yuanti flower-and-bird paintingsy, and Caravaggio’s “Basket of Fruit”, an iconic one of the 17th-century Western classical still-life paintings. Through visual interpretation and cultural tracing, it analyzes the differences between the two in terms of color application, spatial organization, modelling techniques, and artistic spirit, to reveal the heterogeneity of floral subjects in Yuanti flower-and-bird paintings and Western classical still-life paintings, and to examine the different artistic values and humanistic spirits manifested in Chinese and Western paintings.

A Study on Text Cohesion in Senior High Students’ Continuation Writing Based on Coh-Metrix 基于 Coh-Metrix 的高中生续写文本凝聚力研究

Continuation writing is a new type of writing task introduced in the Chinese college entrance examination reform. Text cohesion is essential for a well-written continuation. Cohesion in a text can be explicit, involving language-level textual cohesion, or implicit, involving semantic-level meaning continuity. This study uses the text analysis software Coh-Metrix to analyze the cohesion in high school students’ English continuation writing. It explores the features of coherence in these writings from both the explicit language usage and the implicit semantic continuity, and the differences between the high-scoring group and the low-scoring group, aiming to provide effective teaching suggestions and references for English teachers.
续写是中国高考改革中引入的一种新型写作任务。要写好续写,文本的内聚力至关重要。文本的内聚力可以是显性的,涉及语言层面的文本内聚力,也可以是隐性的,涉及语义层面的意义连续性。本研究使用文本分析软件 Coh-Metrix 分析高中生英语续写中的内聚力。从显性语言运用和隐性语义连贯两个方面探讨续写中的连贯特点,以及高分组与低分组之间的差异,旨在为英语教师提供有效的教学建议和参考。

An Analysis of the Lexical Culture of the Wugong County Dialect 武功县方言的词汇文化分析

As a component of the Shaanxi dialect and even the northern dialect, the Wugong dialect has its unique regional characteristics and cultural value. As Wugong County is located in the west of central Shaanxi Province, between Xi’an City and Baoji City, this geographical position makes it a major transportation route between the two places, and also makes the dialect of this place subject to multicultural influences, forming its own unique linguistic characteristics. Through an in-depth study of the vocabulary of the Wugong dialect in Xianyang City, this paper aims to explore the internal differences of the dialect and the reasons for its formation. By analyzing the lexical features in the Wugong dialect and comparing them with Putonghua, the differences in pronunciation, lexical usage habits, syntactic structure and other aspects are revealed. These differences not only reflect the influence of geographical environment and historical background on the formation of the dialect, but also the role of social change and cultural exchange on the evolution of the language. The significance of studying the Wugong dialect is that it maintains and enriches the cultural diversity of Chinese dialects, and at the same time provides new perspectives and materials for understanding the Shaanxi dialect. In addition, the study of dialects helps preserve traditional culture, promotes the excavation and utilization of language resources, and promotes the development of linguistics and related disciplines. Overall, by analyzing the characteristics and internal differences of the Wugong dialect, this paper not only enhances our understanding of the dialects of the region, but also provides theoretical support for the protection and transmission of the dialects, as well as a reference and reference for the study of other Chinese dialects.

With the intensification of globalization, English has become an important tool for international communication. However, for art students in colleges and universities, they face a series of dilemmas in English learning due to the limitations of their professional characteristics and disciplinary requirements. Through survey research and literature review, this paper analyzes the main problems of art students in colleges and universities in English learning, and puts forward corresponding countermeasures to help them better cope with their English learning dilemmas.

A Probe into the Integrated Learning Model of Academic English “Writing + Critical Thinking” in Sino-Foreign Joint Education 中外合作办学中学术英语 "写作+思辨 "一体化学习模式探析

This research attempts to reconstruct an integrated learning model of academic English “writing + critical thinking”, which is better targeted at talent cultivation in Sino-foreign Joint Education, a prominent entity in China’s higher education. This model, under the guidance of six critical thinking skills from the Delphi Report, boasts 3 vital revisions in the teaching process of academic writing: critical reading, exemplar writing methodology, and a co-constructed updated version of academic English “writing + critical thinking” marking criteria. This could enhance critical thinking dispositions and skills of students in Sino-foreign Joint Education who, with the help of these skills, can ultimately develop into critical, globally literate and competitive talents. This research could benefit the teaching reform in Sino-foreign Joint Education and its Academic English courses.

Hebraic Influences in The Life of Lazario de Termes 拉扎里奥-德-特梅斯生活中的希伯来影响

The focus of this article is the impact of the Hebrew language with its literature, philosophy, biblical exegesis, and history on the sixteenth century anonymous author of The Life of Lasiloo de Termes. I assumed the task of investigating the Jewish cultural heritage embedded in this work, as my studies in Hebrew Language and Literature could contribute towards a fuller comprehension of this masterpiece. And indeed, in addition to linguistic and biblical associations, I have detected influences that appear inspired by the monumental works of medieval Jewish Spanish theologians and philosopher Crescas, Maimonides and Nahman ides in particular. I invite the reader to share and comment on this analysis.

Theoretical Research and Path Exploration of Chinese Culture Input and Acculturation for Foreign Students from the Perspective of Chinese Character Teaching as a Foreign Language 汉字作为外语教学视角下外国学生中国文化输入与文化适应的理论研究与路径探索

With the quick development of China, the number of foreign students in China has soared. Teaching Chinese as a second language for foreigners with different backgrounds includes language knowledge, the individual cross-cultural adaptation the Chinese culture spread. Chinese characters is the key point in Chinese language learning for foreign students. The charming of Chinese culture is reflected and transmitted by Chinese characters which can help foreign students understand Chinese culture better. By sorting out the theories on Chinese cultural course and acculturation with the perspective of Chinese characters teaching, exploring the corresponding research paths, this paper proposes a reference for the research on conducting cultural course through the way of teaching Chinese characters for foreign students acculturation.

Application of Short Video APP in Ideological Education of Undergraduates Majoring in Business Administration 短视频APP在工商管理专业大学生思想教育中的应用

As a new kind of media, short video APP is popular among young undergraduates, especially undergraduates majoring in business administration. The introduction of short video APP into the practice of ideological education of undergraduates is an inevitable requirement of the modernization of university education and an inevitable choice to comply with the requirements of the new era. The article adopts questionnaire survey of using the short video APP in ideological education of undergraduates majoring in business administration, analyzes the influences, the difficulties and the path choice of short video APP in ideological education of undergraduates majoring in business administration. It is helpful for universities to apply the short video APP to ideological education of undergraduates.
短视频APP作为一种新型媒体,深受青年大学生尤其是经管类专业大学生的喜爱。将短视频APP引入大学生思想教育实践,是高校教育现代化的必然要求,是顺应新时代要求的必然选择。文章采用问卷调查的方式,对短视频APP在工商管理专业大学生思想教育中的运用情况进行了调查,分析了短视频APP在工商管理专业大学生思想教育中的影响因素、难点及路径选择。对高校将短视频APP应用于大学生思想教育有一定的帮助。

The article adopts questionnaire survey of using the short video APP in ideological education of undergraduates majoring in business administration, analyzes the influences, the difficulties and the path choice of short video APP in ideological education of undergraduates majoring in business administration. Power Is Everywhere—An Interpretation of Kazuo Ishiguro’s Never Let Me Go on Foucault’s Discipline Power 权力无处不在--从福柯的 "权力规训 "解读石黑一雄的《决不让我走》(Never Let Me Go)

The present paper attempts to interpret Kazuo Ishiguro’s Never Let Me Go in the framework of Foucault’s discipline power and investigates how those clones are transformed to be docile organ donors. It is found that Hailsham, Cottage, and recovery center are all disciplinary establishments in the shape of a Panopticon, where discipline power is exercised upon the clones constantly through three instruments: hierarchical observation, normalizing judgement, and examination. These subtle disciplinary elements fill every corner of their lives, and they are effectively observed, manipulated, and trained to behave “normally” as human society expects.

A Comparison of the Identity Construction of Foreign Ministers of PRC Regarding the Issues of Territorial Sovereignty and State Relations 中华人民共和国外交部长在领土主权和国家关系问题上的身份构建比较

The implicature under diplomatic discourse has been an interesting topic for both the media and the public. Foreign minister’s response to the media ought to stand for the position of the government and the foreign minister’s Question Time is made accessible on the Internet, thus the public may get to know what kind of people their leaders are and how they deal with other countries. However, chances are that spokesmen may react variously when they are confronted with some aggressive questions or some questions that make them feel offended. Additionally, different spokesmen may use different tactics in order to set forth China’s position and its attitudes towards territorial sovereignty and state relations. This paper aims to investigate the identity construction of two spokesmen through their responses to the media all over the world and to reveal the implicatures behind these responses. Foreign minister’s Question Time will be used as data.
