Background: To compare the outcome of femtosecond lasik ablation and small incision lenticule extraction for the management of high myopic astigmatism regarding visual acuity, residual ser and astigmatism pre and postoperative HOAs and TBUT. Patients and Methods: The visumax surgical platform was used for surgery. The femtosecond laser was used for flap creation in FS - LASIK group and for lenticule creation for the SMILE group. The MEL 90 excimer laser used for ablation in FS - LASIK while manual dissection and extraction of the lenticule in SMILE group patient is examines regularly one, three and six month post surgery. Visual acuity improved earler in FS-Lasik earler than SMILE group. TBUT worsen in FS-Lasik group more than SMILE group. The postoperative HOAs were higher in smile than LASIK group. There is slight myopic regression in LASIK group also there is hyperopic shift in some patients of l ASIK as an overcorrection. Results: Postoperative SER improved in both groups. The residual SER in LASIK is –0.05±0.57 and –0.25±0.43D. Both groups got 57.5% 20/20, and for 20/16 30% and 25% respectively. TBUT affected markedly post surgery in LASIK group but improved later while smile did not affected so much. HOAs was above one in smile group while near one in FS-Lasik group. Conclusion: Both procedures are same effective in management of high myopic astigmatism.

Background: Multi detector computed tomography (MD-CT) has become a mainstay in diagnosing bowel obstruction. Because the management of obstruction has dramatically changed with a decrease in the proportion of patients who need surgery, a precise CT evaluation is now both the gold standard and the common approach in patients with suspected bowel obstruction. Results: A total of 51 patients were eligible for inclusion in our study, all patients were admitted to emergency Department of Kasr Al-Ainy Teaching Hospital with clinical and radiological features of acute small bowel obstruction(ASBO). MDCT showed bowel obstruction in 40 (78.4%) patients, small bowel obstruction in 35 (68.6%) patients and large bowel obstruction in 5 (9.8%) patients, follow-up CT scan showed that contrast reached the large bowel obstruction was reported in 20 (41.7%) patients. Twelve (23.5%) patients were indicated for surgical intervention, ICU admission was reported in 3 (5.9%) patients, while one case showed leakage on day 1 post exploration. CT showed adhesions in 38 (74.5%) patients with final diagnosis of adhesive intestinal obstruction (IO) in 29 (56.9%) patients. Conclusion: We concluded that MDCT scan is a highly sensitive tool in detection of adhesive intestinal obstruction on the level of small and large bowel. MDCT scan can be used as a very accurate tool in screening for adhesive IO due to higher negative predictive value (100%).

Background: Radiculopathy caused by cervical disc disease is a frequently encountered pathology among spine specialists. While non-operative treatment methods can effectively manage the condition, surgical interventions are available as an option if conservative treatment is unsuccessful. The objective of this study is to provide a brief account of our recent encounter with posterior cervical foraminotomy for the treatment of cervical radiculopathy. Aim of Study: To present our short-term experience regarding posterior cervical foraminotomy for cervical radiculopathy. Efficacy, safety, and technique would be reported. Patients and Methods: A review was conducted on our institution's database covering the period from 2019 to 2022. The review identified 35 patients who had consecutively undergone Posterior cervical foraminotomy. The study compared the pre-intervention visual analogue scale (VAS) with the post-intervention VAS at three months (post VAS 2) to evaluate the levels of neck pain (VASn) and arm pain (VASa). Results: Concerning the functional outcome, the average VASn Pre was 6.17, the average VASn Final was 2.09, the average VASa Pre was 6.97 and the average VASa Final was 1.29. The difference between VASn Pre and VASn Final was statistically significant as the p -value was less than 0.05. The difference between VASa Pre and VASa Final was statistically significant as the p -value was less than 0.05. No complications were reported in our study. Conclusion: Considerable clinical improvement was observed in patients suffering from radiculopathy caused by cervical disc disease who underwent treatment with posterior cervical foraminotomy. The aforementioned procedure has been deemed both safe and effective in the treatment of the aforementioned pathology.

Background: The concept of digital addiction has gained popularity in recent years. Calls for methods to tackle it are increasing, particularly among teens. While the validity of this phenomenon as a mental health diagnosable issue is still being debated, there is a requirement for preventative and intervention measures that urge people to have better control over their internet use. Aim of Study: The main aim of this study was to assess the impact of health promotion activities onthe health risks caused by digital addiction atthe King Saud University cam-pusin Saudi Arabia. Material and Methods: A cross-sectional, questionnaire-based study was performed at King Saud University. A total of 516 persons participated. Results: 516 persons completed the questionnaire; 64.9% were male, 35.1% were female, 42.4% were aged between 20-29 years old, and 40.5% had at least a diploma. The results showed that 84% stated that the University implements health programs about digital addiction, and 81% stated that they hadbenefited from attending this program. Moreover, 82% stated that the University conducted previous studies on digital addiction, 82% believed that the current tools used to measure digital addiction are reliable, and 85% believed that COVID-19 increased the prevalence of digital addiction. Also, 82% knewdigital addiction is harmful, and 86% knew that increasing hours spent using smartphones or tablets harms body health. In addition, 83% stated that the University conducts health promotion activities to increase awareness of health risks caused by digital addiction. The results also showed that implemented health programs, conducted studies, tools to measure digital addiction, and health promotion activities all had a moderately positive effect on the impact of health promotion activities on awareness. Conclusion: Prolonged usage of the internet and cellphones has resulted in rising digital addiction, which has severely influenced performanceand health. The recommended health promotion initiatives helped raise awareness and decrease addictive digital usage. As a result, this study emphasizes difficulties that should be dealt with in future research.
