The underwater target localization problem is one important application for underwater acoustic sensor networks. A novel passive source location algorithm for underwater acoustic sensor networks is proposed, which is suitable to both two-dimensional and three-dimensional networks. The proposed algorithm firstly studies the precision of directional of arrival (DOA) for underwater acoustic sensor array and applies it to set up the statistic model of target localization based on DOAs. According to the model, the maximum likelihood (ML) method is used to estimate the target Location based on DOAs by sensor array nodes. Lastly, the result of simulation has shown the application validity and studied the precision performance of the algorithm.

Considering the limited sample support and computational complexity, the traditional localized STAP algorithms restrict adaptive processing in localized processing region and for the most part they have fixed system degrees of freedom (DOF). A new idea about the localized STAP algorithm which adjusting system DOFs adaptively with variable interference environment are presented, and some practical issues, such as performance metric selection, initial system DOFs selection and the recursion fast algorithm of weight are discussed. The validity of the research is proved by measurement data processing results. This algorithm is more robust in complicated interference environment, and it reduces large computational complexity and improves the performance of jammer suppression.

Remote sensing image plays a very important role for GIS services as one of its important data source. It's very large volume requirement may lead to latency during data transmission. Several alternative solutions are identified as the solution for the issue. This paper is intended to discuss the effect of image compression technique to allow the reduction of the storage and bandwidth requirement at the same time maintaining the quality of the compressed image. An experiment has been performed towards several multispectral images to foresee the effectiveness of the proposed method. The ongoing study shows promising result especially in terms of storage and image quality.

In this paper we propose a multi-sensor image registration approach based on edge-correlation. Firstly, edges of images are extracted and the longer edges are coded by modified Freeman. Secondly initializing correlation of chain code is calculated by integrating correlation coefficient and other methods, then the consistency detection succeeds by relative distance ratio histogram clustering detector based on center of edge correlation and angle histogram clustering detector based on average directional angle difference of edge correlation. During the calculation of average directional angle difference of edge correlation, modified histogram approach in this paper is much better than line-fitting approach. Finally accurate edge correlation pair is obtained, and then image registration parameter is attained by applying least square algorithm (LSM) in interrelated parts. The approach presented in this paper can register images of wide translational and rotary range.

The fax clustering is that the same or similar faxes will be clustered into one group in mass faxes. In order to improve accuracy of clustering, a fax clustering algorithm based on adaptive ant colony optimization was proposed in this paper. The algorithm simulates ant feeding theory, and improves the coefficient of pheromone updating, and avoids falling into local optimum. The experimental results show that the algorithm has good robustness. The effect of clustering is improved obviously.

A biomimetic model for bats' biosonar is proposed to reproduce the signal processing method in its echolocation system. The model is first simulated in MATLAB environment and the results imply that this model can distinguish two glints with highly overlapped echoes and get accurate ranges for each target in noisy environments. The FPGA realization for this model is also considered and the hardware description code for this model is developed in Simulink@MATLAB based on System Generator for DSP toolbox. The results improve that it is hardware realizable for the bionic model in a single FPGA chip and real-time processing can be achieved.

It is important to improve the capability of anti-counterfeiting and standard of identifying the passport. The “visibility” of the documents is the essential reason for making false documents. Using wavelet analysis and digital watermark technology, a new system of developing and identifying passport is research and developed. Experiments showed that the technology is safe and reliable, and can be widely applied to various types of document security.

NSCT (Non-Subsampled Contourlet Transform) is widely used in image fusion according to its multiscale, multiorientation and translation invariance. In this paper, a new intermediate view synthesis approach for free viewpoint video based on NSCT and image fusion is proposed. SIFT descriptor is used to detect the distinctive features as matching points of the given images. Then homography matrix is calculated by the matching points, so that the given images can be wrapped to the middle position, and transformed into NSCT domain to fuse, then we fill the holes by blending neighboring colors, the image generated is the intermediate view. The experimental results show that the viability of the proposed method is good.

In order to avoid the network intrusion, the network intrusion detection method is studied and developed. In the paper, a hybrid method of rough set and support vector machine are adopted to network intrusion detection. The detection model includes the data reduction by rough set and network intrusion recognition by support vector machine. The 680 cases are collected to study the superiority of the proposed in the paper, where 460 cases are applied as the training data and 220 cases are applied as the testing data. Normal support vector machine is adopted to compare with the hybrid method of rough set-support vector machine. The experimental results show that the detection accuracy of rough set-support vector machine detection method than that of support vector machine.

Though a great deal of research has been done to recognize emotions automatically from human speech, low recognition rate is still a serious problem. In order to improve recognition performance, we used an improved ranked voting fusion algorithm to combine the decisions from eight hidden Markov model (HMM) classifiers which are based on different feature vectors respectively. On the other hand, in view of the severe influence to emotion recognition precision from the individual differences of acoustic character and gender is a main factor leading to acoustic difference, gender distinction method was adopted. The recognition results show that compared with the isolated HMM classifier, the recognition results of the classifier fusion system is more satisfying. Besides, gender distinction method can also improved recognition rate evidently.
