A novel combination of millimeterwave linearly frequency modulated (LFM) technology and new radar imaging techniques can provide a good high-resolution imaging sensor that can be inboard in unmanned vehicles, in which stringent limitations of size, weight and power consumption are required. This paper presents an approach of multiple transmission and multiple reception in elevation for vehicle-borne millimeterwave radar high-resolution imaging. This radar employs orthogonal frequency diversity modulated (OFDM)-LFM waveforms, so as to obtain a high-resolution imagery over a wide swath coverage. The system concepts, geometry relations and signal models are provided. Computer simulation examples are also performed. Additionally, the generation of the OFDM waveforms with parallel direct digital synthesizer (DDS)-driven phase locked loop (PLL) synthesizer is discussed, and the block diagram of the synthesizer is provided.

The characteristic spectral line provides a basis for the ship identification and location tracking, therefore, the research on extracting the characteristic line spectrum has important significance in practice. The method combining Welch algorithm with Chirp-Z transform can extract the spectral line from the ship-radiated noise effectively. Both the simulation signal and the real ship-radiated noise were analyzed. The results demonstrate that the method is convenient and able to extract characteristic line spectrum accurately. And the spectral resolution can be up to 0.36Hz. In addition, according to the extracted characteristic line spectrum, the filtering interval was set to filter the original signal of the ship radiating. By processing the filtered data, the ship-path could be tracked exactly.

This paper addresses issues about the rejection of false jammer targets in the presence of digital radio frequency memory (DRFM) repeat jammer. An anti-jamming filtering technique is proposed that it can eliminate this type of jamming signal. By using a stretch processing with a particular selected reference signal, the presented method can fully separate the echoes being reflected from the true targets and the signals being re-transmitted by a jammer in frequency domain. Therefore, utilizing the nonoverlapping properties of the received signals, filters or suchlike techniques can be used to reject the undesired jamming signals. Particularly, this method does not require estimation of jamming signal parameters and does not involve a great computation burden. Simulations are given to show the validity of the introduced approach.

The camera digital signal processing (DSP) core is a key component for a video catching system. In this study, first high-performance and low-complexity algorithms are developed for the camera DSP system. The main functions involve the color interpolation, white balance, color space transformation, auto gain control, edge enhancement and color enhancement. Simulations demonstrate that the proposed method can achieve good quality as for a color-filter-array format camera. Based on the algorithms, the DSP processor is developed with pipelined structure. The prototyping chip is verified with one FPGA device, and then its ASIC is also realized with 0.35um CMOS process. A real-time camera system with 1270×792 resolutions is successfully demonstrated by the combination with the extra components within one PCB broad.

Adaptive hybrid synchronization of two different chaotic systems with unknown parameters is investigated. Based on Lyapunov satiability theory, an adaptive hybrid synchronization controller and parameter update laws are designed analytically. Our scheme includes complete synchronization, anti-synchronization and projective synchronization, simultaneously. Numerical simulations on the hyper-chaotic Chen system and hyper-chaotic Lü system are presented to verify the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

Medical embedded systems of the present and future are recording vast sets of data related to medical conditions and physiology. Linear modeling techniques are proposed as a means to help explain relationships between two or more medical or physiological signal measurements from the same human subject. In this paper a statistical regression algorithm is explored for use in medical monitoring, telehealth, and medical research applications. An essential element in applying linear modeling to physiological data is determining functional forms for the predictor signals. In this paper we demonstrate an efficient method for symbolic regression and model selection among possible transformation functions for the predictor variables. The three-stage method uses LASSO shrinkage regression to select a brief functional form and performs an polynomial lag regression with this form. This method is applied to medical and physiological time series data exploring the link between respiration and blood oxygen saturation percentage in sleep apnea patients. We found that our method for selecting a functional transformation of the predictor variable dramatically improved the goodness of fit of the model according to standard analysis of variance measures. In the dataset examined, the model achieved a multiple R2 of 0.3373, while a plain time-lagged model without transformation or polynomial lags had a R2 of only 0.016. All of the variables in the model produced by the algorithm had high scores in t tests for validity.

Using the Kunming 40-m radio telescope at Yunnan Observatory, a Pulsar coherent de-dispersion experiment has been carried out, which uses a dual polarization receiver operating at s-band and a VLBA back-end: Mark5B+, whose highest sampling rate is 64MHz. The data processing system is based on the C programs on Linux. Some pulsar profiles had been carried out using the DBBC and Mark5B+ record system. In this paper we will discuss the application of the DBBC platform in pulsar observation domain and the algorithm of de-dispersion. The main purposes for the instrument are studies of pulsar mode changing, pulsar timing, scintillation monitoring, glitches, GPs (Giant Pulsars), etc.
