Penilaian Bencana Kekeringan dan Strategi Penyediaan Air Bersih di Wilayah Utara Kabupaten Lumajang

The drought that occurred in the northern region of Lumajang regency impacts the reduced availability of clean water. This study aims to assess drought disasters and determine strategies for providing clean water supply in the northern region of Lumajang Regency. Drought assessment using Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) with precipitation data from 2000 to 2019. The drought outputs were spatially plotted using geographic information systems. The results showed that the drought index (SPI-12) complies with drought conditions that occur in the field. The suitability of the drought index is analyzed based on the number of deliveries (dropping) of clean water to the site or location. Extremely dry occurred in 2018, with the highest index value (SPI-12)

Brawijaya University is a campus that continues to develop. This development has an impact on reducing the infiltration area. Due to poor water management, there are puddles at some points. Under Drain Box Storage (UB – Drain) is an alternative building with environmental friendly drainage concept/eco drainage that functions to reduce runoff and conserve groundwater. The purposes of this study are to determine the condition of drainage channels in UB campus area, so as to know the exact location for placement of UB-Drain to reduce runoff. Several analysis are required in order to plan UB-Drain, such as hydrology and hydraulics aspects. This study is using a Log Pearson type III method for design rainfall with Q 5 return is 122,84 mm/day and using the Modified Rational Method for analyze of runoff discharge. The drainage evaluation based on capacity of existing drainage channels and circulation system of drainage network with comparing the water level/ head and the value travel time . The result is 19 out of 27 channels were found unable to save and drain water. With the implementation of UB-Drain in several drainage channels of UB campus area, the volume of runoff and puddles is reduced by 63% and 75% for once rainfall with a return period of 5 years

Analisis Sebaran Limpasan Permukaan pada Sub DAS Lesti Sebagai Pertimbangan Konservasi Hulu DAS Brantas

The Lesti sub-watershed, which is entirely in Malang Regency, is the widest sub-watershed of the upstream Brantas watershed, which has the biggest role in contributing river flow which impacts downstream in the Sengguruh Reservoir. The current condition of surface runoff distribution in Lesti Sub-watershed is based on the latest data on rain and land use, which has not been widely discussed by policy makers. Information on the distribution and proportion of surface runoff in watershed areas is interesting to study further in order to give consideration to watershed conservation efforts. This study aims to calculate surface runoff and its distribution as a basis for policy makers to determine priority locations for conservation efforts in the Lesti sub-watersheds.

The operation and maintenance of a reservoir are essential in the sustainability of its function. To achieve this, it must be supported by adequate operating and maintenance costs The cost of operating an adequate reservoir consists of the cost of water services from water users and subsidies from the government if needed. Sustainable operation and maintenance must keep government subsidies to a minimum while at the same time taking into account the willingness of water users to pay. These two parameters of subsidy and water service fees form an interdependent feedback loop in determining operating and maintenance costs, which are included in the phenomenon of system dynamics.
