Prostate cancer has become one of the most prevalent diseases globally, which affects millions of men, and is estimated to go up to 288.3 thousand patients in the U.S. in 2023. Therefore, its diagnosis and management process need innovations and continuous improvements to reduce morbidity and mortality rates. The advancement of robotic surgery, defined by its minimally invasive method, has changed the game. It is superior to open surgery practice, with fewer complications after the operation time, quicker recovery, and improved lifestyle. This systematic review rigorously and systematically analyzes studies of this kind and addresses the various operative outcomes, including wound complications, surgical site infections, and urinary and sexual functions. This systematic review will be explorative, aiming to establish the benefits of robotic surgery in terms of postoperative outcomes. We intend to contribute to the cardio-thoracic surgical literature by providing a comprehensive analysis of how this type of surgery affects the postoperative recovery of patients with prostate cancer, giving recommendations for future clinical care and research in this field.

Background: Stroke represents the second cause of death and the first cause of disability in adults worldwide. Hemiplegia is the main sequel of ischemic stroke. It presents muscular alterations such as spasticity and lack of coordination. It also produces abnormalities in balance and gait, increasing the rate of falls. Physical rehabilitation through exercises is essential. There is not enough information for the caregiver to perform the exercises. Objective: to implement an exercise protocol to improve the home management of the hemiplegic patient that favors the reduction of spasticity and the risk of falls. Methods: It is a longitudinal, analytical study with a quantitative approach. It was developed in 15 people with hemiplegia by the Home Care Project for People with Disabilities of Palora Canton, Ecuador. The ages were from 20 to 64 years. The intervention was performed 3 times a week in each home. The Tinetti test and the Ashworth test were used for the initial evaluation. For the final evaluation, the Wilcoxon method was used. Results: a predominance was evidenced in the female gender 53.3% and the age range between 27 to 63 years 86.7% in the hypothesis testing of the Tinetti test (risk of falls) and Ashworth test (spasticity) where the results the value p<0.001 (asymptotic significance) With this data, the null hypothesis is rejected. Conclusions: It was determined that the exercise protocol for home management of the hemiplegic patient decreases the risk of falls and spasticity.

With a variety of aetiologies and clinical presentations, Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM) presents considerable hurdles for both diagnosis and treatment. Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) has become a useful diagnostic technique for DCM, providing information on the anatomy, physiology, and tissue properties of the heart. Using both well-established and recently developed CMR techniques, this review investigates the function of CMR in the diagnosis and treatment of idiopathic DCM. Using reliable databases, a thorough search of the literature was carried out with an emphasis on papers released between 2014 and 2024. English-language literature examining the clinical uses of CMR in idiopathic DCM were included in the inclusion criteria. A vital component of the assessment of dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) is cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR), which provides thorough insights into the anatomy and function of the heart. Precise evaluation of tissue properties, ventricular function, and cardiac shape is made possible by CMR, which helps DCM patients get an accurate diagnosis and risk assessment. The use of advanced CMR methods, such as T1 mapping and late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) imaging, yields significant insights into the underlying aetiologies and myocardial fibrosis. Furthermore, customized prognostic evaluations are provided by CMR-based risk stratification algorithms that include many factors, improving clinical decision-making in DCM treatment. Continuous developments are expected to improve prognostic utility and accuracy, which will need efforts to lower prices and increase accessibility in order to achieve better patient outcomes and wider clinical usage

Recent advancements and innovations in interventional cardiology have already revolutionized coronary artery disease (CAD) treatment and management. Interventional cardiology is a new hope for CAD patients because its evolution has improved disease symptoms. We aimed to explore the integration of diagnostic, therapeutic, and risk management innovations against CAD. In diagnostic advancements, we aimed to discuss the evolution of imaging techniques such as MRI, echocardiography, positron emission tomography (PET), and coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA), focusing on their unique benefits in the early detection and assessment of CAD. Interventional techniques, notably percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) innovations, have evolved, incorporating bioresorbable vascular scaffolds, drug-eluting stents, and advanced imaging technologies to enhance procedural success and patient outcomes. Moreover, post-PCI care advancements, including newer antiplatelet agents and PCSK9 inhibitors, have contributed to more personalized and effective CAD management strategies. This paper will also discuss significant strides made in interventional cardiology, underscoring a future where integrated approaches continue to advance patient care in CAD.

The article presents a structured bibliometric study examining the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education across four thematic axes: AI in higher education, AI in education review, AI in the teaching-learning process, and AI tools applied to higher education. Research productivity and impact indicators are analyzed using data from major databases like Scopus, Web of Science, and ScienceDirect. Results reveal a significant increase in AI-related research output, particularly in machine learning, data mining, and learning analytics. The study highlights China and the United States as leading contributors to AI research in higher education. The findings highlight AI's evolving role in transforming higher education and the need for multidisciplinary research approaches to address emerging challenges and opportunities. However, limitations include the reliance on quantitative measures, the narrow temporal scope, and the limited focus on high-production countries. Future research should incorporate qualitative methods to explore practical applications and social impacts more comprehensively, consider a broader range of geographic contexts, and discuss ethical considerations around integrating AI into higher education.

The principal objective of this study was to determine the effectiveness of a project-based learning approach on the performance level and engagement experience of Senior High School Biology students. Quasi-experimental, specifically the One-Group-Pretest-Posttest Design was employed using mean percentage score and t-test as statistical tools in the treatment of data. The findings revealed that the mean percentage score of students across content areas and cognitive skills did not meet the expectations and were interpreted as being at the beginning level. Nevertheless, there is a significant difference between the pretest and posttest results covering content areas, namely: cells, biological molecules, and energy transformation. Likewise, a significant difference was revealed between the pretest and posttest scores throughout cognitive skills, such as comprehension, analysis, and application. The results suggest that the study can be very helpful to teachers of 21st-century learners so that they can have meaningful engagement in the class by exposing them to project tasks that develop their creativity, critical thinking skills, collaboration, ownership, and self-reflection. In addition, teachers should reinforce basic concepts, employ visual aids, foster active learning, stimulate critical thinking, and adopt an inquiry-based approach. They must also facilitate collaborative learning, ensure inclusivity, enhance project-based learning using models, cultivate metacognitive skills, and simplify complex concepts through scaffolding.

Background: the study analyzed the quality of care perceived by patients with high blood pressure in a health center in Ecuador, considering dimensions such as accessibility, opportunity, continuity, comprehensiveness, and cultural competence of the services. Hypertension in older adults represents a public health problem in the region. Objective: To analyze the quality of care perceived in patients with Arterial Hypertension in Primary Health Care. Methods: quantitative, transversal, and descriptive design. The sample was 40 patients over 65 years of age with HTN. A validated 10-item questionnaire was applied to perceived quality in several dimensions: accessibility, opportunity, continuity, comprehensiveness, and cultural competence. Results: limitations were evident in the capacity to respond to urgent needs, lack of continuity in care by the same professional, deficiencies in mental health counseling, and moderate dissatisfaction with services. Conclusions: there are significant gaps in the quality of primary care for hypertensive patients regarding accessibility, opportunity, comprehensiveness, and cultural competence. Improvements are required in these areas to ensure more responsive and patient-centered care.
