Introduction: In this research, the issue of the role of nursing in breastfeeding in hospitalized neonates is addressed. Breastfeeding plays a fundamental role in the health and development of hospitalized neonates, and adequate support from nursing staff is essential to promote and facilitate this practice. Objective: To explore the experiences and perceptions of mothers, fathers and nursing staff in relation to breastfeeding in hospitalized neonates, as well as to evaluate the correlation between a good latch of the neonate and the production of breast milk. Methodology: Through a mixed methodological approach that combines qualitative and quantitative methods, to obtain a complete and holistic understanding of this important issue to improve neonatal care. Through in-depth interviews, focus groups, and structured questionnaires, the experiences and perceptions of mothers, fathers, and nursing staff were explored, as well as the correlation between newborn latch-on and breast milk production. Data analysis revealed that the instruments used in this study showed good reliability, with Cronbach's coefficients higher than 0.8. Results: They showed common challenges in breastfeeding, such as the lack of information and emotional support. A significant correlation was found between a good latch of the newborn and a higher production of breast milk. Conclusion: The training of nursing staff and the implementation of support strategies, such as the use of lactation consultants, were identified as key elements to improve breastfeeding care in the hospital setting. These findings support the importance of the role of nursing in the promotion and support of breastfeeding in hospitalized neonates.

The Chilean poet Raúl Zurita writes from the pain of living during the military dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet (1973-1990). At that time, Zurita was kidnapped and, in his memory, there remains a wound that cannot heal. Although the term documentary poetry does not exist in Latin America, this article addresses the possibility that the poet is a precursor of Latin American documentary poetry. For this, it is based on the importance of the context in which Zurita lived and how he found a way to transform pain through poetry. In this article we will see how in Purgatorio —translated to English as purgatory— (1979), Zurita applies tools typical of documentary poetic creation such as intervened images, polyphony and wordplay. In the United States, documentary poetry has as its referents poets such as Ed Sanders, Charles Olson, William Carlos Williams, among others. They also wrote about historical events using documentary poetry tools. Therefore, we consider the importance of a poet like Zurita to demonstrate how violent and historical events in Latin America remain through poetry.

With the need for improved learning materials for General Biology becoming increasingly evident, this study developed a constructivist e-learning module and evaluated its effectiveness for teaching senior high school STEM students. The module, anchored in the 5E Instructional Model (engage, explore, explain, elaborate, and evaluate), was implemented in a blended instruction setting for 81 senior high school STEM students. This module distinguishes itself from traditional e-learning modules by emphasizing student-centered learning and experiential engagement through hands-on activities, problem-solving, and peer collaboration. Pretest and posttest were used to assess content mastery and cognitive skills performance. Mean, standard deviation, and paired t-test were used to describe the scores and significant differences between the scores. The posttest scores revealed a significant increase in both content mastery and cognitive skills performance. The constructivist e-learning module effectively enhances student engagement, content mastery, and cognitive skills development while aligning with curriculum of Philippine Department of Education (DepEd) and can be seamlessly integrated into existing classrooms.

The study aims to determine and correlate environmental attitudes and proficiency level among STE grade 7 students in environmental science subject at Heracleo Casco Memorial National High School. The study was conducted through a survey method, with consent forms. The findings reveal that the overall level of environmental attitudes of the students is moderate, which implies that the students' attitude towards the environment is sometimes manifested. In addition, their proficiency level in environmental science is classified as “novice”, indicates that the students lacked sufficient knowledge and understanding of the fundamental concepts in environmental science subject. It was revealed that there is a significant negative correlation between the Proficiency Level in Environmental Science Subject and the Role of Nature and the Environment, Climate Change and Global Warming, and Lifestyle. However, there is no significant relationship between the Proficiency Level and Human Impact on the Environment.

Microtia is a congenital anomaly that directly affects the external ear. Although the etiology of this pathology is not fully elucidated, there are several factors that are associated with its occurrence, such as genetics, perinatal and maternal conditions. During organogenesis of the outer ear it is important to mention that as anomalies occur before the sixth week of pregnancy, the chances of severe defects or total absence of the outer ear increase. At the genetic level, the etiology of microtia has been related to multiple causes, as well as the identification of genes involved in allelic expression pathways and transcription factors. Furthermore, this anomaly does not always occur alone, but associated with other pathologies such as cleft palate (12.8%), cleft lip and palate (11.5%), anophthalmia/microphthalmia (11.5%), facial asymmetry (10.6%), as well as oculoauriculovertebral spectrum syndromes, Goldenhar syndrome, craniofacial microsomia, Treacher Collins syndrome, Nager, DiGeorge or 22q deletion, Townes-Brock syndrome and branchi oto-renal syndrome. Treatments are based on the aesthetic management of the patient, but also related to the improvement of the patient's hearing ability. Epidemiologically, the prevalence ranges from 0.8 to 17.5 per 10,000 live births. One of the main risk factors for variation in case identification is altitude, genetics and maternal-perinatal factors. This literature review provides a thorough analysis of information for the better understanding, analysis and clinical management of this congenital anomaly.

The sensory stimulation of smell and taste are very important. Now is the time to pay more attention to it, since its correct functionality is essential for life, health and safety of people, especially in old age. At this stage, is when these senses are deteriorating, possibly due to decreased production of receptor cells. Therefore, the objective of this article is to identify existing methods for sensory stimulation, physiology and evaluation of the chemo-sensory senses: taste, smell and everything that contributes to the knowledge, approach and intervention of these senses. Documentary design was applied, with reference review in databases such as: MEDLINE, LILACS, SciELO, Springer, Elsevier, EBSCO and Google Scholar. Descriptors in Health Sciences (DeCS) were used: Aged, Taste perception, Sense of Smell, Sensation. The search included the languages: English, Portuguese and Spanish. The references have been published in the last 6 years. That is, from 2017 to 2022, 30 articles were included since they met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results obtained were: identification of physiology, evaluation methods, diagnosis, and stimulation. They have been implemented and have been shown to be suitable for exploring, analyzing and improving functionality. In conclusion, diagnostic tests and sensory stimulation methods are suitable for application in elderly people.
