Introduction: Therapeutic communication tries to build relationships that promote an attitude that helps health personnel with care and with this create favorable conditions for the patient or family member, involving various elements such as empathy, respect, active listening to reach the patient. Likewise, nursing staff need to develop certain skills to establish adequate therapeutic communication. Objective: To categorize the experiences of therapeutic communication between nursing staff and relatives in neonatology. Method: The research is mixed, cross-sectional. In the qualitative phase, the information was collected through semi-structured interviews with 20 family members, at which time the information was saturated, and in the quantitative phase, the scale on "communication skills of health personnel" was applied, with a Cronbach's Alpha of 0.94, guaranteeing the reliability of the instrument; through the Likert scale applied to 22 nursing professionals from the neonatology area of the Ambato General Hospital. Results: 70% of the relatives reported that the reinteraction of information would be one of the strategies that would help improve communication with the nursing staff, agreeing with the responses of the nursing staff. More than 40.9% of the nursing staff mentioned that although bodily communication is an important axis, health personnel demonstrate it in a personal way, as highlighted in the interviews, the most cited actions were eye contact and smiling. Conclusions: Nursing staff need to maintain a correct therapeutic alliance with patients, the implementation of a communication guide will facilitate compliance with this context. Therefore, it is necessary to develop these skills in health professionals

At the end of 2019, a pandemic brought remarkable variations in the corporal and cerebral health of individuals. The states of lockdown cause people and especially youngers vary their methods of connecting with people and studying. Stating that youth bring with emotional, cultural, and social variations, it is significant to recognize how this pandemic could further increase these states. Objective: Get to know the prevalence of post-COVID 19 sleep pattern deterioration in nursing students of Technical University of Ambato cohort October 2022 – March 2023. Methodology: Data was collected from a statistically sample of 275 students through an online questionnaire. Sociodemographic information was gathered and two instruments were used for validation: the insomnia severity index and the Epworth sleepiness scale. Results: It is shown that 83.64%of the individuals showed at least one mild sleep disturbance. 76.4% of the evaluated individuals presented some insomnia problems and 57.1% have sleepiness problems during the day. A statistically linked correlation was defined among the results of the two questionnaires and women have a slight tendency to experience sleepiness compared to men. Conclusion: The results and the information suggest that sleep disorders are generated by a poor framework of students ‘schedule. Despite this, lockdown may be a severe factor for the condition that could generate other disorders.

Communication is an eminently interactive activity through which the establishment of interpersonal relationships is fostered, especially trying to transmit information to others as happens with health staff, especially nurses who dedicate the greatest percentage of their time to patients care. Considering these aspects in this work, the objective was defined to analyze the relationship between the assertive communication of nursing staff to mothers about vaccines and compliance with the immunization schedule in children under 5 years old at the Atahualpa health facility, September period. 2022 – August 2023. To achieve this purpose, a phenomenological exploratory study was developed in which 183 mothers from the aforementioned health facility participated. Based on these results, 62.8% of participants were identified with an understanding of the explanations provided and adequate levels of satisfaction with the information received, as well as the corroboration of the working hypothesis that assertive communication by the nursing staff influences the compliance with the vaccination scheme by the representatives of the children.
