The analytical expressions allowing to calculate spectral responsivity of semiconductor receivers of optical radiation with an error no more 5 % in all spectral range are developed. Criteria of a choice of radiation wavelength and accuracy of radiation power stabilization of the injection laser in view of temperature dependence of semiconductor photodetector spectral responsivity have been received.

Scattering of plane monochromatic waves on quasiperiodic layered structures is considered. Exact solutions for complex amplitudes of reflected and transmitted waves are found by method of transmission matrices. Influence of connection of lumped elements on resonance properties is investigated. Hysteresis behavior is observed for case of Kerr nonlinearity.

The method of measuring of the intensity distribution by knife-edge is proposed. The algorithm and program for handling of the signal from receiver are developed. By using the MATLAB to carry out the simulation analysis, the method is proved that it can accurately recover the complicated energy distribution.

This paper reviews our recent activities on nanophotonics based on a photonic crystal (PC)/quantum dot (QD)-combined structure for an all-optical device and a metal/semiconductor composite structure using surface plasmon (SP) and negative refractive index material (NIM). The former structure contributes to an ultrafast signal processing component by virtue of new PC design and QD selective-area-growth technologies, while the latter provides a new RGB color filter with a high precision and optical beam-steering device with a wide steering angle.

Investigations of the melt removing in the gasjet-assisted CO2 laser cutting by pyrometer have been performed for steel plate 3, 6 mm and 10 mm thick are reported. The measurements of local brightness and brightness temperature were conducted for different values of cutting speed and assisted gas pressure.

The practical deep-ultraviolet (DUV, below 200nm) coherent light sources, which are considered as puzzles of laser field, can provide a kind of unique tool to explore the front fields of biology, physics, chemistry, material etc‥ The methods to obtain the DUV coherent light sources are reviewed and compared, and all-solid-state DUV lasers are precise and practical compared with the others. Recent progresses on them and their engineering in our lab are reported, and some new phenomena such as Fermi pockets in superconductor are discovered with them.

The experimental research of thermalphysic properties of thin metal bolometers (platinum and nickel) in a range between room temperature and the temperature close to melting is carried out. The factor of heat exchange with external environment, the efficiency factor of radiation absorption in a visible range, the time constant of bolometer cooling are measured. The polynomial approximation of the data received is carried out.

We report an enhanced experimental set-up that allows fast and accurate determination of refractive indexes in optical materials. The set-up is equipped with the high-precision sample positioning system and sensitive detector for the registration of interference fringes shift. Additionally, an approach that can be utilized in order to eliminate the error caused by non-parallel sample edges is discussed. The results of the refraction index measurements in lithium niobate are presented.

A 12.7 W 589 nm coherent light source with the linewidth of less than 1 GHz and the beam quality of M2 = 1.2 is achieved by extra-cavity sum-frequency mixing 1064 nm and 1319 nm quasi-continuous-wave diode-pumped Nd:YAG lasers with a LBO crystal.
