Considered to optimal power characteristics of 《zig-zag》 lasers in the form of a flat truncated prism with a zig-zag course of the ray in the three-mirror stable resonator, depending on the design parameters. It is noted that this design is characterized by the additional loss of radiation on the mirrors of the resonator, contributing to the generated radiation specific power decreasing.

Theorems of Fourier transform cannot be applied to prove that evanescent waves do not contribute into the power passed through the initial plane because the Fourier spectrum of the boundary value is by the most part singular. Their contribution is considered in details in the case of linear source. It is shown that evanescent waves transfer the power in both directions and do not contribute into the total passed power.

A study was made of the influence of misalignment of the plane mirrors of a metal waveguide resonator for the submillimtre laser (λ = 0,4326 mm ) on the energy losses, polarization and mode structure of the radiation. It was found that misalignment of the resonator only weakly affected the energy losses, but exerted a strong influence on the mode structure and polarization of the radiation

The system of relations of basic characteristics of laser irradiation field scattered by location object surface was determined. For estimation of parameters of object surface and reconstruction the registration conditions of characteristics of laser irradiation field were established. The requirements to complex of models describing characteristics of the laser irradiation field of the object surface were made.

We have recently put forward a new type of zig-zag micro-ring resonator chain. This device has been demonstrated, for passive structures, using SiN technology. But the active structures are the ones exhibiting the most interesting behaviour and, for them, new fast and slow light phenomena have been predicted. For the stable operation of such systems, we have proposed and analysed a laser array configuration.

Coherent population trapping (CPT) resonance formation is modeled numerically in a three-level Λ -system with one of the near-resonance fields being frequency-modulated. The model is based on density matrix equations in RW approximation with atomic relaxation properly taken into account. Slow modulation is shown to be equivalent to CW excitation with the frequency changed point by point. As the modulation period approaches the relaxation times, the delayed response of the system is shown to cause the CPT resonance shift and reshaping, as well as the appearance of transient oscillations of the energy level populations.

We study formation of rotating three-dimensional solitons (azimuthons) in Bose Einstein condensate with attractive nonlocal nonlinear interaction. In particular, we demonstrate formation of toroidal rotating solitons and investigate their stability. The presence of repulsive contact interaction does not prevent the existence of those solutions, but allows to control their rotation.

We study the lasing eigenvalue problem for a generic open dielectric resonator with gain material. The gain is introduced within the active region via the “active” imaginary part of the refractive index. Each eigenvalue is constituted of two positive numbers, namely, the lasing wavenumber and the threshold value of material gain. This approach yields clear insight into the lasing thresholds of individual modes. The Optical Theorem, if applied to the lasing-mode field, puts familiar “gain=loss” condition on firm footing. It enables us to rigorously introduce the conception of the volume of an open resonator and then the effective-mode volume, both for the passive cavities and cavities with active regions.
