Stability Analysis of the SIRS Epidemic Model using the Fifth-order Runge Kutta Method 用五阶龙格库塔法分析SIRS流行病模型的稳定性

: Transmission of the diseases can occur through interactions within the infection chain either directly or indirectly. In some cases, there are diseases that can enter endemic conditions; conditions of an outbreak of a disease in an area over a long period of time. This condition can be mathematically modeled by using certain assumptions and solved by the analytical and numerical solutions. In this research, we analyze the stability of disease spread by building a mathematical model of SIRS epidemic in infectious disease, whose numerical solution is obtained through Runge-Kutta 5 th Order Method and simulated with MATLAB R2010 software. In the result of the simulation, it is concluded that the greater the rate of disease transmission, the lower the rate of recovery is and natural death can be caused endemic condition.

Family Support to Elderly at Nursing Home in Medan City, Indonesia 印尼棉兰市养老院对老年人的家庭支持

: Elderly is someone who generally experiences dependence on family. Family support is very meaningful for the elderly. This study aims to identify the desires and support given by the family to the elderly who live in nursing homes. The research design used was descriptive with the total respondents was 30. Data collection was done by interview. The results of the study found that the elderly had hoped to gather with family members (63.3%), the elderly received family support in the good category (70%) and emotional support also in the good category (60%). However, information support in sufficient categories (40%), instrumental support in sufficient categories (40%). The study concluded that family members and relatives continue to provide support to the elderly, especially those who live in nursing homes, both appreciation, emotional support, information and instrumental support, which are useful for improving the quality of life for the elderly.
老年人通常是依赖家庭的人。家庭的支持对老年人来说很有意义。本研究旨在探讨家庭对住在安老院舍的长者的期望及支持。本研究采用描述性设计,总调查对象为30人。数据收集采用访谈方式。研究结果发现,老年人希望与家人团聚(63.3%),老年人获得家庭支持(70%),情感支持(60%)也属于良好类别。然而,信息支持在足够的类别(40%),工具支持在足够的类别(40%)。研究的结论是,家庭成员和亲属继续为老年人,特别是住在养老院的老年人提供支持,包括欣赏、情感支持、信息和工具支持,这些都有助于提高老年人的生活质量。

Isolation of DNA Genomes from the Head and Middle Gland of Silkworms (Bombyx mori L) 家蚕头腺和中腺DNA基因组的分离

: The quality and quantity of DNA are very much needed for the molecular analysis of organisms. The superior quality of DNA samples can be obtained from an appropriate DNA extraction protocol.This research was conducted to isolate the DNA of silkworm larvae from the head and middle glands. The silkworms used are from three National silkworm breeding centers, namely Perhutani-Bogor, Bili-Bili and Soppeng. Organ samples taken are the head and middle silk glands. Samples are crushed and put into extraction buffers using a Mini Kit (Promega, Madison, WI, USA) in accordance with established procedures.The measurement of DNA quantity was carried out by the spectrophotometric method using a spectrophotometer at wavelengths (λ) 260 and 280 nm.DNA purity was determined by calculating the absorbance ratio at A260 to A280. DNA isolation showed a very thick band (high concentration) and also firm, this indicated that the results of DNA isolation are very good.DNA samples from the middle silk gland from the Bogor region were not obtained because the sample used when extracting was too much hence the extraction buffer used was insufficient to lyse lipids or compounds in the silkworm glands. DNA purity ranges from 1.75-2.2 with an average purity of 1.95 and the concentration of isolated DNA reaches 37.000 ng / µl.

Effectivity Test of Loquat (Eriobotrya japonica (Thunb.) Lindl.) Leaves Extract on the Incision Wound Healing in Mice (Mus musculus L.) 枇杷的药效试验采用)。叶提取物对小鼠切口创面愈合的影响

: The wound healing process is divided into four phases; 1) coagulation 2) inflammatory 3) proliferation 4) remodelling. Loquat ( Eriobotrya japonica (Thunb.) Lindl.) leaf contains triterpenoid, flavonoid, alkaloid, and tannin as anti-inflammation, antibacterial, anti-allergic that can accelerate the wound healing process. The aims of this research were to find out the effectiveness of ethanol extract of loquat leaves and to examine the histological appearance of wound healing process on mice’s skin in day 14 th . This research used 25 male mice ( Mus musculus L.) that were divided into five different treatment groups. The treatment groups were treated with two control groups; povidone-iodine (K+) and without treatment (K-) and loquat leaves ethanol extract with three concentration of 15% (PI), 30% (PII), and 45% (PIII). Incision wound was made into 1 cm length, the ointments were applied onto the wound and observed for twice a day in 14 days. Histological preparation was made to calculate epithelial thickness, fibroblasts, and lymphocytes. The data were analyzed statistically using SPSS. The result of this research showed significant difference of average time span of wound healing of each group's, K-, K+, PI, PII, and PIII was subsequently 8 days, 9.2 days, 7.6 days, 8.4 days, and 9.4 days, with p=0.048 (p<0.05). Histological observations showed the average of epithelial thickness, fibroblasts, and lymphocytes in the treatment group PI is higher than the other treatment groups. In conclusion, loquat leaves ethanol extract with concentration 15% (PI) was the most effective to accelerate the wound healing process.

Resilience of Chronic Renal Failure Patients Undergoing Hemodialysis in Medan, Indonesia 在印尼棉兰接受血液透析的慢性肾衰竭患者的恢复力

: Chronic renal failure (CRF) is a failure of kidney function that progresses slowly and can’t recover so the body is unable to maintain the metabolic, fluid and electrolyte balance in the body. Haemodialysis therapy is used as one of the renal replacement therapy in CRF patients to prevent dangerous complications that can lead to death. Patients suffering from chronic renal failure who underwent haemodialysis will face psychological, financial, physical and social suffering. The patient will experience a meaningless state in which this situation will lead the patient to the process of seeking meaning in suffering so that there is a need for resilience in the face of his illness. This study aims to identify the resilience of patients with chronic renal failure who underwent haemodialysis in Medan. Methods: the population in this study were patients with chronic renal failure with a sample of 117 people using accidental sampling technique. Data were collected using questionnaires and analysed by frequency distribution. The result showed that 84 of 117 responders were in medium resilience (71.8%). Haemodialysis therapy is used as one of the renal replacement therapy in CRF patients to prevent dangerous complications that can lead to death. Patients suffering from chronic renal failure who underwent haemodialysis will face psychological, financial, physical and social suffering. The patient will experience a meaningless state in which this situation will lead the patient to the process of seeking meaning in suffering so that there is a need for resilience in the face of his illness. This study aims to identify the resilience of patients with chronic renal failure who underwent haemodialysis in Medan. Methods: the population in this study were patients with chronic renal failure with a sample of 117 people using accidental sampling technique. Data were collected using questionnaires and analysed by frequency distribution. The result showed that 84 of 117 responders were in medium resilience (71.8%). Blood Glucose Determination by Fourier Transform near Infrared Spectroscopy 傅立叶变换近红外光谱法测定血糖

: Diabetes is a metabolic disorder that is caused by unregulated blood glucose and therefore requires regular and intensive monitoring. Currently, blood sugar monitoring is mostly done invasively by withdrawing blood through a needle or piercing of the fingertips. This method can cause trauma and an infection. However, there is the potential for using a non-invasive measurement of blood glucose levels with near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) combined with partial least-square regression. As a pathway to actualize it, the spectrum of whole blood was measured with different glucose levels. A total of 72 NIR spectrum from 8 whole blood samples with different types of glucose levels were measured. A principal component analysis (PCA) and partial least square regression (PLSR) were applied to the spectral data matrix. The results showed that PCA is successfully classified as spectral data based on the glucose content and PLSR model within the clinically accurate region of the Clarke error grid. These results indicate that NIRS has an immense potential to be applied in measuring blood glucose non-invasively.
