In this paper we consider performance of a dual hop amplify-and-forward system, with co-channel interference at relay. We consider channel state information assisted system in Nakagami-m channel. The outage probability and the average bit error probability of the system are determined. The influence of the interference, as well as the influence of other system's parameters, such as the fading parameter m and outage probability threshold γth on the system's performance is considered.

A fast simulation-based and parasitic-aware LC-VCO optimizer CAD tool, using Elitist Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm (NSGA-II) is presented. The proposed CAD tool optimizes the power consumption and phase noise of each conventional LC-VCO (e.g. NMOS-only, PMOS-only and complementary), simultaneously. In order to evaluate the fitness of the LC-VCO, the harmonic balance analysis is performed by HSPICE RF and then the optimizer core, implemented in MATLAB, manipulates the fitness and suggests some optimized designs. This CAD tool has the ability to optimize Figure of Merit of each configuration too. Design methodologies and comparison of performance of each structure, based on trade-off curves, are also presented and in a case study the cross-coupled LC-VCOs are optimized for 2.4-GHz central frequency (802.11 IEEE) in a commercial 0.18μm RF-CMOS technology.

A finite-difference time-domain method (FDTD) has become an essential tool in the modern engineering and scientific research from RF through THz technology up to optical spectrum. Among many other reasons, it follows from great flexibility as well as competitive computational requirements of the FDTD method when compared to other numerical modeling methods. Nevertheless, market demands are always well ahead of the current computational horizons of the classic FDTD method, prompting development of semi-analytical numerical methods that enable modeling of the most challenging electromagnetic (EM) applications. As an example of those continuing trends, we will recall semi-analytical FDTD solutions for axisymmetrical and periodic structures, both widely addressed in the literature and solvable by the commercial EM simulation tools. It will be shown that a tremendous cut of required computational resources is achievable when the FDTD method is supported by appropriate analytical solutions. Several application examples, like cylindrical corrugated horn antenna, Cassegrain reflectors, photonic crystals and micro-structured telecommunications fibers, will be presented.

In this paper we propose a reconfigurable multiple bit differential detection algorithm that can be used for the DPSK signal reception in the presence of significant frequency offsets. The analysis shows that the bit error probability of the proposed algorithm is nearly constant in a wide frequency offsets range and equal to the error probability for zero frequency offset. Also, the proposed receiver has better performance than the ordinary differential detection receiver for any frequency offset.

This paper describes a novel Packet Triggered Architecture (PTA). This architecture takes advantage of programmable pipeline and parallel processing, which lead to MIMD (Multiple Instruction Multiple Data) architecture. The PTA is composed of two main blocks. The first block is constituted from Functional Units (FUs) and their interconnection network. The instructions in the PTA are composed of instruction packets. Every packet encapsulates a data and route across internal NoC (Network on Chip) to which enables dynamic data flow scheduling. This approach brings a new way of programming, because the programming is done by specifying FUs addresses and functions ports. Using of such a design allows create target hardware like a software application. The main advantages of this approach are that any processor can be emulated in the PTA, its ISA can be extended and special accelerators can be added too. Small loops are created directly inside the PTA and small concurrent Finite State Automats (FSM) can be created inside the PTA. The PTA can be as well used like an abstraction layer to easily design and create special-purpose hardware. There are some advantages in hardware design as well. The PTA does not need any complex instruction decoder. Instructions packets can be only fetched and dispatched to PTA. The PTA as well does not need any complex forwarding logic. The PTA can work as a system with improved reliability as well.

In this contribution we will demonstrate an extended-usage two-resonant circuit model of quartz with two LC resonators for numerical computation tuning characteristics. Real crystal resonators contain, besides a dominating resonance, other, unwanted parasitic resonances. Their existence can markedly modify the tune performance chart of the VCXO.

The paper deals with study of temperature turbulences effect towards the optical beam. The horizontally and vertically polarized optical beams have been studied. The turbulence flux has the vertical direction and the optical beam is propagating through the atmosphere environment with three different states of turbulences. The evaluation of obtained data was done by means of relative variance of optical intensity and refractive index structure parameter computing. The different temperature turbulences rate of effect towards the horizontally and vertically polarized beam has been found.
