Runtime Monitoring for Cyber-physical Systems: A Case Study of Cooperative Adaptive Cruise Control 网络物理系统的运行时监控:合作自适应巡航控制的案例研究

Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) involve deep interactions between computation cores, communication networks, and physical environments. These systems are inherently complex and highly nondeterministic. This makes the traditional formal verification technology impractical to verify the complete system behavior, and testing alone is insufficient to guarantee correctness. Runtime monitoring, known as a lightweight verification technique, provides a practical way to monitor and verify such systems at runtime. In this paper, we present a case study for runtime monitoring of the Cooperative Adaptive Cruise Control systems (CACC) in automobile CPS systems. We build a hybrid automaton-based model for the CACC system using the CHARON modeling language and construct an event-based runtime monitoring framework. The synthesized monitor observes the running of CACC and checks whether it works correctly against the temporal logic safety specification. Experimental results obtained through this case study provide evidence for the efficacy of runtime monitoring of CPS systems.

Interaction Design for Multi-touch Interactive Walls 多点触控交互墙的交互设计

In recent times, following the increasing affordability of large-scale display and multi-touch technologies, the market has seen the development and increasing deployment of multi-touch interactive walls. This new medium offers a unique mix of information density, direct interactivity, and collaboration support, and these new features have radical effects on the interaction design for the multi-touch wall device. Designers and developers of the interaction on these walls encounter several new conceptual, methodological, and technical challenges. In this paper, we examine and explore the research issues at three of these interaction design aspects namely multi-touch input, user interface and co-located collaboration. We use the real world scenario of IT management as a working domain to illustrate our proposed solutions and we propose some design suggestions based on our own approach to those issues.

A New Approach to Establish Variable Consistency Dominance-Based Rough Sets Based on Dominance Matrices 基于优势矩阵建立变一致性优势粗糙集的新方法

Rough set theory is an effective mathematical tool for dealing with inconsistencies in information systems. Dominance based rough set (DBRS) is an extension to the original rough set, in which the equivalence relation is replaced by a dominance relation. However, in some condition, the lower approximation of DBRS can be emptied by only one "malicious" object. The variable consistency dominance based rough set (VC-DBRS) is proposed to avoid situations like this. The core conception of VC-DBRS is introducing parameters to control the consistency of objects including in lower approximations. There are several kinds of consistency measures have been proposed, but it is difficult to compute them by manual, especially for a large data set. It is necessary to find out an approach to calculate these measures automatically. This paper proposes a new algorithm based on dominance matrices to calculate the rough membership for VC-DBRS, and then presents how to use this measure to get the lower and upper approximation.

Stability and Bifurcation of a Delayed Singular Prey-Predator Economic Model 时滞奇异食饵-捕食者经济模型的稳定性与分岔

This paper studies a delayed singular prey-predator economic model, which is described by differential-algebraic equations due to a economic theory. Local stability and Hopf bifurcation condition are described on the delayed singular prey-predator economic model. It reveals the sensitivity of the model dynamics on gestation time delay. A phenomenon of Hopf bifurcation occurs as the gestation time delay increases through a certain threshold. Numerical simulations are carried out to substantiate these theory analysis.

A New Image Registration Algorithm Based on Mutual Information of Gradient and Improved PSO 基于梯度互信息和改进粒子群算法的图像配准新算法

Because of the larger difference between the two images to be registered, such as exposure degree or noise pollution, the common registration algorithm that based on mutual information of original gray, is easy to fall into local extreme value, thus the registration accuracy is unsatisfactory. In this case, a new method of image registration algorithm that based on mutual information of gradient and improved PSO is developed in this paper. The experiment result shows the method works well, and comparing with traditional registration algorithm, the registration accuracy is significantly improved while the efficiency is also guaranteed.

A Decision Supporting System for Earthquake Disaster Mitigation 地震减灾决策支持系统

The earthquake disaster was a vast risk for a sustainable and harmonious societal and economic development, so, it was effective methods to build a decision supporting system for earthquake disaster mitigation and preparation stratagem. A typical decision support system for Earthquake disaster mitigation was introduced in this paper. The principle, design criteria, structure, functions and application of the system were described herein. This system based on Geographical Information System and Artificial Intelligence, consists of below several parts: earthquake hazard analysis, lifeline system performance analysis, kinds of building earthquake damage forecasting, post-earthquake emergency response aided-decisions and earthquake information instant publishing. In this system, there were more than 100 coverages and 36 analytical models. These coverages covered almost all related data to meet the needs of earthquake disaster mitigation and risk assessment, including recorded earthquakes, seismic tectonic zones, intensity distribution of historic earthquake, soil profiles, characteristics of buildings, distribution of citizens, important lifeline systems, earthquake rescuing experience and knowledge, etc. These analytical modules could be used to generate isoseismals of earthquake, estimate site effects, forecast the failure possibility of slope and the damage bound of landslide triggered by earthquake, evaluate performance, damage and losses of building and lifeline system, assess the toll of death and injured, and provided the decision-making for rescue, relief, evacuation.

Aging and Life Assessment of Large and Medium-sized Power Transformers in Nuclear Power Plants 核电站大中型电力变压器老化与寿命评估

In order to effectively manage the large and medium-sized power transformer in nuclear power plants, several methods for the aging and life assessment of large and medium-sized power transformers used in nuclear power plants are analyzed and described, including the thermal aging life assessment method of transformer solid insulation, the thermal aging life assessment method considering the moisture content of the insulation paper, the aging and life assessment analysis method based on the average degree of polymerization of the insulation paper and the furfural content of the insulation oil. The aging and life assessment for six single-phase main transformers of a nuclear power plant has been implemented through the combined use of these methods and some satisfactory results have been got. The integrated use of these assessment methods elaborated in this paper can contribute to a more reasonable and accurate assessment of the overall life of transformers, and provide a reasonable and important reference for the aging and life cycle management for large and medium-sized power transformers in nuclear power plants.

Artificial Landmark Positioning System Using Omnidirectional Vision for Agricultural Vehicle Navigation 基于全向视觉的农业车辆人工地标定位系统

The positioning of agricultural vehicle for autonomous navigation systems is important. We proposed a novel simple and inexpensive positioning system utilized by four artificial landmarks and an omni directional vision sensor. The red intensity pixels not less than threshold were extracted as a small area in the omni directional image and the center of the gravity was calculated as one landmark position. The direction angles between the neighboring landmarks were calculated after detecting all landmarks. Location of the vehicle was estimated by the center of gravity of four intersections formed by four arcs according to geometric transformation based on four direction angles of four landmarks with camera. In the field experiment, the sensor was fixed on the ground 50 m × 50 m square area in the sunshine to get clear images and examined the accuracy of the position estimation algorithm. Another experiment was done to test practical application with vehicle in a straight-line driving. The field experimental results showed that the mean absolute error of the four direction angles was about 1 to 2 degree and the RMS error in distance was about 24.51 cm. The vehicle practical experimental results showed that the real-time distance errors were mostly between about 3 cm to 10 cm. The RMS error was about 8.34 cm. This positioning system is a simple, feasible and prospective system for agricultural vehicle navigation.

The red intensity pixels not less than threshold were extracted as a small area in the omni directional image and the center of the gravity was calculated as one landmark position. The direction angles between the neighboring landmarks were calculated after detecting all landmarks. Location of the vehicle was estimated by the center of gravity of four intersections formed by four arcs according to geometric transformation based on four direction angles of four landmarks with camera. In the field experiment, the sensor was fixed on the ground 50 m × 50 m square area in the sunshine to get clear images and examined the accuracy of the position estimation algorithm. Another experiment was done to test practical application with vehicle in a straight-line driving. The field experimental results showed that the mean absolute error of the four direction angles was about 1 to 2 degree and the RMS error in distance was about 24.51 cm. The vehicle practical experimental results showed that the real-time distance errors were mostly between about 3 cm to 10 cm. The RMS error was about 8.34 cm. Failure Analysis on Open Defect with Logic Time Sequence Analysis and Simulation Experiment Method 基于逻辑时序分析和仿真实验方法的开放缺陷失效分析

FA (Failure Analysis) plays an important role in VLSI designing and manufacturing. In FA we usually handle the cases with open failure which we can't use FA tools (OBIRCH, EMMI and so on) to capture its location effectively. Therefore, it is an obstacle to improve success ratio of FA and reduce micro probing workload. In this paper, we proposed one FA idea to analyze gate floating when there were abnormal output, normal input and normal IV curves. And one LTS (logic time sequence) analysis and simulation experiment methods for open failure were introduced. Then, three real cases were shared with open contact, open via and open metal line defects respectively. The idea and method could not only provide novel and simple FA method for open failure, but also reduce micro probing workload and improve success ratio for FA case.
