Video conference 3-D display that fuses images to replicate gaze direction 视频会议3d显示,融合图像来复制凝视方向

We propose a new video conference display that replicates the eye contact back channel available to the attendees of real conferences. The display consists of multiple screens that present the remote participants' faces so that they exhibit the participants' gaze direction. We introduce a prototype video conference terminal with two screens and demonstrate that it offers eye contact with directivity of up to 17 degrees.

Hybrid high-power rectifier with reduced THDI and voltage sag ride-through capability 混合大功率整流器与降低THDI和电压凹陷穿越能力

Temporary voltage sags are the main cause of untimely arrest in automated systems that use adjustable speed drives (ASDs). In this context, this paper presents an analysis of a new hybrid three-phase rectifier designed to correct the power factor and to promote voltage sag ride-through capability to ASDs. To prove the effectiveness of the proposed solution, this paper presents results of simulations for several case studies, evaluating the performance of the proposed hybrid rectifier under the voltage sags types A, B, C, and D. In all cases under analysis, it was proved that the proposed solution is effective and very attractive for retrofitting applications in high power.

Transfer technology for fabrication of flexible OTFT backplane 柔性OTFT背板的制造转移技术

A new transfer technology to realize flexible organic thin film transistors (OTFTs) on a plastic substrate has been developed. The basic principle of the proposed method is that all the fabrication processes for the OTFT array on glass substrate have been completed, and the OTFT is then transferred onto the plastic film. A 5.8-inch diagonal wide-QQVGA OTFT array was fabricated using this technology. We confirmed that degree of substrate deformation with the proposed technology could be suppressed in comparison with that with conventional direct formation method, and also that no significant degradation in the electrical characteristics of the OTFT was observed as a result of the transfer process. It is thought that this will be a key technology for the fabrication of large flexible displays with TFT backplanes.

Comparison of current control methods for a near unity power factor converter in a wind generator system feeding stand-alone loads 风力发电系统中近单位功率因数变流器电流控制方法的比较

A simple near-unity power factor converter using two current control methods- the Average Current Control method (ACC) and Hysteresis Current Control method (HCC)-has been employed in this paper for a wind energy conversion system feeding simple loads. A simple stepped wind speed profile, comprising the rated wind speed and a higher wind speed, has been considered and the performance parameters of the unity power factor converter compared for these two current control methods. The wind turbine drives a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG), which is interfaced with the near UPF converter feeding a resistive load. The performance parameters under study are the Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of the input currents to the converter and the input Power Factor (PF) to the converter. Simulation has been performed in PSIM and Simulink employing SimCoupler for co-simulation and the results verify the efficacy of the converter in delivering satisfactory performance.

Vector control method of parallel-connected induction motor drives fed by a Matrix Converter 矩阵变换器驱动并联感应电动机的矢量控制方法

A Matrix Converter is an electricity converter to operate direct convertion of Variable Voltage Variable Frequency (VVVF) without Direct Convertion (DC) link part. Some applied examples of motor drives by the Matrix Converter (Fig.1). This paper presents basic characteristic of parallel-connected dual induction motor drives with the Matrix Converter. Purposes of this system are low cost and saving space in the industrial field to operate plural motors. However, in case of the unbalanced loads, both motors are unstable and each motor makes the speed response differenced to cause the rotor flux change. We indicate the new strategy to control stably by applying the average value control in slip-frequency vector control. Moreover, we propose to decrease the speed response of two motors by choosing feed-forward term in the speed control system applying two degrees of freedom control (2DOF) compared with 1DOF.

ZigBee wireless network for transformer load monitoring and temperature sensitivity analysis ZigBee无线网络用于变压器负荷监测和温度灵敏度分析

This paper applies a ZigBee wireless network to monitor load conditions of transformers and analyze their temperature sensitivity. The developed approach can effectively monitor the operating states of transformers, thereby protecting transformers from burning by overloading via an early overloading warning system. The proposed method is suitable for many underground distribution transformers using a ZigBee wireless sensor network with minimal power consumption and good communication quality. Transformer load current and temperature are captured via a temperature and current sensing interface and transmitted to the ZigBee wireless network control center via the ZigBee wireless network. A transformer load database is complied. The relationship between load current and temperature is determined using a statistical regression method. The regression model of transformer load current and temperature is derived for temperature sensitivity analysis of transformer loading. The transformer load current variation following a temperature increase is then derived to construct an early warning mechanism for overloading, such that maintenance personnel can take the necessary actions to avoid power interruption and improve power quality.

Developing virtual protection system for control and self-healing of power system 开发用于电力系统控制和自愈的虚拟保护系统

Using new technologies for communication in power system creates new opportunities for developing wide area system monitoring, protection and control system. Virtual Protection System (VPS) is a system that can be implemented in control center to detect any system abnormalities in a virtual environment by using PMUs data from whole system area. The control system can use the VPS fault analyses to detect system states and apply the proper remedies for self-healing of power system. Developed laboratory test setup is presented and several tests are accomplished in this regard. Applications of this system in power system control and self-healing will be discussed.

Design of advanced voltage management system including manual operation mode via real-time simulation 设计先进的电压管理系统,包括手动操作模式,通过实时仿真

This paper presents the design of the advanced voltage management system (AVMS) including manual operation mode in order to control reactive power generations in practical power system. The existing secondary voltage controller (SVC) has a demerit occurring large transient phenomenon shortly after the SVC begins to work. This malfunction results from the difference of the operation status before and after the SVC operates. For solving the problem and implementing the voltage control safely, the AVMS including the manual operation mode is developed by Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO). As well as the AVMS overcomes the drawback, it can execute the coordination control of both continuous voltage controller (CVC) and discrete voltage controller (DVC). The CVC controls reactive power generation sources such as generator and FACTS devices which can generate reactive power continuously and linearly. Otherwise, the DVC controls the discrete reactive power sources such as switched shunt capacitors and reactors. The performances of the proposed AVMS are carried out by time domain simulation in the Jeju Island power system with real-time digital simulator (RTDS).

The CVC controls reactive power generation sources such as generator and FACTS devices which can generate reactive power continuously and linearly. Otherwise, the DVC controls the discrete reactive power sources such as switched shunt capacitors and reactors. Optimized fuel cell array energy management using multi-agent systems 利用多智能体系统优化燃料电池阵列能量管理

With the recent commercialization of modular fuel cell power plants, the interest for stationary fuel cells has grown over the last years. The main advantages of these energy sources are their limited environmental impact compared to traditional power sources such as coal- and gas-fired power plants, and at the same time, their ability to be controlled, as opposed to intermittent energy sources. However, controlling an entire array of fuel cells causes problems similar to the ones encountered by thermal power plant operators: how can the operation of such units be optimized? This article describes a method to help reach a better economic performance for fuel cell arrays, in which the individual performance of each fuel cell is considered. The method is based on a hybrid system consisting in a multi-agent system, an expert system and an optimization algorithm for optimally dispatching the load. By enabling the use of storage and the ability to automatically start and stop fuel cells, simulation results show that the energy management system can dramatically reduce running costs, as well as enable a very flexible control.

Experimental modeling of the tribo-aero-electrostatic separation of mixed granular plastics 混合颗粒塑料摩擦-空气-静电分离的实验模拟

A tribo-aero-electrostatic separator can be successfully employed for the selective sorting of granular mixtures of polymers. The tribocharging of the material to be separated occurs in a parallelepiped fluidized bed. Two opposite walls of this device consist of metallic plates connected to two DC high-voltage supplies of opposite polarities, so that the charged granules are attracted to these electrodes and separated while still in fluidized state. The granules are then collected in two recipients each placed in a Faraday pail, to allow the instantaneous measurement of the mass and charge of the separated products. The experiments were carried out on binary mixtures of virgin polyamide and polycarbonate granules both in intermittent and continuous regime Real-time data-acquisition enable the monitoring of the separation outcome, i.e. mass, purity and charge, at various values of the applied voltage, of the mass of material and of the proportions in the granular mixture.
