Experimental performance of a model reference adaptive flux observer based NFC for IM drive 基于NFC模型参考自适应磁链观测器的IM驱动实验性能

This paper presents a model reference adaptive flux (MRAF) observer based neuro-fuzzy controller (NFC) for an induction motor (IM) drive. An improved observer model is developed based on a reference flux model and a closed-loop Gopinath model flux observer which combines current and voltage model flux observers. The d-axis reference flux linkage of the indirect field oriented control is provided by flux weakening method. Furthermore, a proportional-integral (PI) based flux controller is used to provide the compensation for the reference flux model by comparing the flux reference and the observed flux from Gopinath model flux observer. An improved self-tuned NFC is utilized as a speed controller for IM drive. The proposed NFC incorporates fuzzy logic laws with a five-layer artificial neural network (ANN) scheme. In the proposed NFC, parameters of the 4th layer are tuning online for the purpose of minimizing the square of the error. Furthermore, the design of normalized inputs makes the proposed NFC suitable for variant size of IM with a little adjusting. A complete simulation model for indirect field oriented control of IM incorporating the proposed MRAF observer based NFC is developed in Matlab/Simulink. The performances of the proposed IM drive is investigated extensively at different dynamic operating conditions such as step change in load, step change in change in speed, parameter variations, etc. The proposed IM drive is also implemented in real-time using DSP board DS1104 for a laboratory 1 HP IM. The performance of the proposed MRAF observer based NFC controller is found robust and potential candidate for high performance industrial drive applications.

Transient stability assessment of industrial power systems with detailed models implementation 工业电力系统暂态稳定评估的详细模型实现

This paper presents a brief summary of issues on industrial customer's electrical power systems and an approach to analyze the transient behavior of a system with the group of self-generators, substations and many induction motors. Power oscillations and voltage recovery performance after some contingencies are recognized as typical issues on customer's systems. The strong nonlinearity caused by the complicated system configuration falls into difficulties of the proper evaluation of the transient state. Power system analysis is an effective countermeasure for these issues, however, there are some problems on the modeling of each component for better assessment of inherent phenomena. In this paper, required models especially for the complicated governor system for the assessment of the dynamical process are discussed. These models are consistently implemented on the MATLAB/Simulink environment with object oriented configuration. Static and dynamic characteristics of the real power system of a petrochemical plant are investigated as an example.

A new advanced method for assessment of waveform distortions caused by adjustable speed drives 一种新的先进的评估可调速驱动引起的波形畸变的方法

In this paper, we propose a new method for the accurate estimation of frequencies and magnitudes of harmonics and interharmonics caused on the supply-side currents by an adjustable-speed drive. The proposed method consists of a three-step procedure in which Estimation of Signal Parameters by Rotational Invariance Technique (ESPRIT) and Prony high-resolution methods are properly applied together with theoretical formulas. The method guarantees high accuracy with acceptable computational effort. Numerical applications were made on a hardware PWM adjustable-speed drive, and comparisons were made between the results of the proposed method, results obtained by applying the traditional IEC standard approach, and results obtained by another high-resolution method proposed in the relevant literature. The numerical applications and comparisons demonstrated the superior effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed method.

Interleaved buck converter applied to high power HID lamps supplying: Design, modeling and control 用于大功率HID灯供电的交错降压变换器:设计、建模和控制

As the output current levels of power converters increases, interleaved topologies become widely used. A well-known topology is the interleaved buck converter (IBC), which presents as main characteristic a low ripple output current source behavior. Due to HID lamp voltage source characteristics and their acoustic resonance issue, it is necessary to drive them with nearly constant current with a square-wave shape. Therefore, a buck-interleaved converter can be advantageous for supplying high power HID lamps. The goal of this paper is a proposal of an electronic ballast based on a two-cell buck-interleaved converter for high power HID lamps, with current control loop, voltage sensing and constant power. A DC model based on averaged state-space technique is derived for the ballast, as well as an AC model based on small-signal disturbances. The results are verified experimentally and through simulation in Matlab/Simulink and PSIM softwares.

Fractional Order PID and Modulated Hysteresis for high performance current control in multilevel inverters 分数阶PID和调制迟滞用于多电平逆变器的高性能电流控制

The present paper deals with the study and the implementing of a multilevel inverter simultaneously controlled by Modulated Hysteresis Current Control (MHCC) and Fractional Order PID (FOPID) controllers. The converter supplies large ranges of low inductive loads in the purpose to transfer the energy from a DC supply source to an independent electrical network. The MHCC with low frequency of the triangular mono carrier adjusts the load current of the multilevel inverter, insures low power losses, high viability, strong sturdiness and good EMC behavior. The FOPID controller allows keeping constant the grid voltage. Simulation study and experimental results are presented in the paper for verifying the concept and its efficiency in practice.

Untrained artificial neuron based speed control of interior permanent magnet motor drives over full operating speed range 基于非训练人工神经元的内置永磁电机全转速控制

This paper presents an intelligent speed controller for the interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM), based on a single artificial neuron (SAN). Traditional artificial neural network-based motor controllers require extensive offline training, which is both time consuming and requires extensive knowledge of motor behaviour for the specific drive system. In addition, drive behaviour is unpredictable when parameters outside the training set are encountered. The proposed drive system overcomes these limitations by requiring no offline training, is robust under varying operating parameters and is easily adaptable to various drive systems. Drive efficacy is verified in simulation as well as experimentally.

Pilot-scale experiments of continuous regeneration of ceramic particulate filter in marine diesel engine using nonthermal plasma-induced radicals 船用柴油机陶瓷颗粒过滤器用非热等离子体诱导自由基连续再生的中试试验

As the regulations governing diesel engine emissions become more stringent, it is difficult to fulfill these new requirements using only techniques that improve combustion. More effective aftertreatment technology is thus needed particularly for particulate matter (PM). Although the use of ceramic diesel particulate filters (DPF) is a leading technology in automobiles, it still presents a problem in terms of soot removal or regeneration for marine diesel engine operated with marine diesel oil (A-heavy fuel oil) including the sulfur. In the present study, to establish a nonthermal plasma DPF regeneration method for marine diesel engines, laboratory-scale and pilot-scale experiments are carried out. The pressure difference decreased only when the plasma is turned on and that regeneration is realized at 320°C. The amount of ozone required for regeneration is determined under various engine-operating conditions, and basic characteristics of regeneration are clarified. The required plasma energy is approximately 5% of the generated power of the marine engine.

Analysis of interconnection of photovoltaic distributed generation 光伏分布式发电的互联分析

Rapid growth of grid-connected photovoltaic distributed generation (PV-DG) provides many benefits such as clean energy, reduced emissions and creation of new green jobs. However, given its intermittent nature, large scale penetration of PV-DG may challenge the quality and reliability of the grid. This paper evaluates the impact of PV-DG on distribution system voltages. The paper describes the models used for the study, discusses the impacts of PV-DG, and presents the results of detailed simulations. The results show that PV-DG can cause both steady-state and transient overvoltages along the feeder, and may create additional tap operations of line voltage regulators. Finally, the paper proposes a mitigation strategy to eliminate overvoltages, reduce additional tap operations, and validates the proposed method with simulation results.

A new loss minimization control of interior permanent magnet motor drives operating with a wavelet based speed controller 一种基于小波速度控制器的内置永磁电机损耗最小控制方法

The paper presents a new loss minimization control for interior permanent magnet (IPM) motor drives. A wavelet-based speed controller is integrated with the loss minimization control. The loss minimization control in addition to the maximum torque per ampere control provides minimum input power for IPM motor drives. The proposed loss minimization control regulates the command flux current at its optimum point to ensure minimum electrical losses of the IPM drive system. The wavelet-based speed controller provides the command torque current for the drive system. A wavelet based de-noising technique is used inside the speed controller in order to minimize the torque ripple, which reduces the iron losses of the motor. The IPM motor drive with the loss minimization control and the wavelet-based speed controller is modeled in the m-file script of MATLAB software. The speed response and the power consumption of the complete drive system are investigated for speed and torque variations. The performances of the loss minimization control with the wavelet-based speed controller are compared with the loss minimization control operating with the PID speed controller. The drive system with the wavelet speed controller shows more efficient and more robust performances than the PID speed controller based IPM drive system.

Development of EHD-enhanced plasma electrostatic precipitator ehd增强等离子体静电除尘器的研制

The novel device is able to not only collect the low resistive particles generated from diesel engine but also incinerate captured particulates within the same reactor. The new electrohydrodynamically (EHD)- enhanced plasma ESP (EHD plasma ESP) is to utilizes the ionic wind to transport the charged particles effectively into the low electrostatic field region where electrostatic repulsion force acting on particles by induction charge becomes very small, resulting in reentrainment suppression. At the same time, collected particulates are incinerated by ozone and oxidation product of NO2 in the flue gas by the surface discharge plasma, so that no particle handling device is required. The particle-size dependent collection efficiency and particle incineration were evaluated by the Scanning Mobility Particle Sizer (SMPS) and particle counter (PC). This device is particularity important applications for automobile and marine diesel engine emission control.
