Study of subsynchronous torsional interaction with voltage source inverter drive for LNG plant LNG装置电压源逆变器驱动的次同步扭转相互作用研究

Electrical drives for large capacity compressors in a liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant have been investigated. There are mainly two topologies for such an electrical drive; load commutated inverters (LCIs) and voltage source inverters (VSIs). Due to commutation of the thyristors, LCIs produce current harmonics with variable frequencies, and their interharmonics are significant. Therefore, torsional interactions should strongly be concerned. The VSI systems have low harmonics of voltage and current, and become a matured and reliable technology. So this technology is getting attractive to the very large capacity motor drives. This paper shows characteristics of proposed variable speed drive system (VSDS) using VSIs technology comparing with LCIs at first for subsynchronous torsional interactions(SSTI). Second, interharmonics are considered. This study shows that the SSTI is less concerned with the proposed VSI-VSDS that would be suitable to apply large capacity drive applications in LNG plant.

Mathematical modeling of electrochemical cell involving novel kinetics description 涉及新型动力学描述的电化学电池数学建模

We propose an alternative kinetic description of electrochemical interactions. The model is based on the balances of mass and electric charge and the kinetic equations for the electrode reaction. The rate of electrochemical reaction is dependent on the surface concentration of electric charge. The current-voltage characteristics of a selected electrochemical system are presented. In regimes not hindered by mass transport, the characteristics are in good qualitative agreement with those given by classical Butler-Volmer kinetics.

Performance analysis of induction motors for driving coke transfer cars of a coke oven plant in a practical iron-making factory 某炼铁厂焦炉装置转焦车用感应电机性能分析

This paper investigates the operating characteristics and field measurement results of four 28-kW induction motors (IMs) that are employed for driving coke transfer cars of a coke oven plant in a practical iron-making company in Taiwan. Both nameplate data and filed measured responses of the studied IMs under various operating conditions are employed to obtain the parameters of the studied IMs. This paper discusses and compares the measured output responses of the four IMs driven by four independent small frequency converters and the ones of four parallel-operated IMs driven by a large frequency converter. According to the comparative field measured results under both startup and steady-state conditions, it can be concluded that the control scheme of using a larger-capacity frequency converter to drive four parallel-operated IMs has several advantages over the original control method of employing four identical IMs driven by four independent frequency converters.

Analysis and design of isolated solar-PV energy generating system 隔离式太阳能光伏发电系统的分析与设计

This paper deals with the design, control and modeling of an isolated solar-PV (Photo-Voltaic) energy generating system. The proposed system is designed for supplying an average consumer load of 1.5 kW. A constant voltage method is applied to the PV array for MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking). A push-pull boost dc-dc converter is fed from the PV array for charging the battery. A VSI (Voltage Source Inverter) utilizing multi-loop feedback control technique with a BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) is used for power management of the proposed system. This solar-PV energy generating system is designed, modeled and its performance is simulated in the Matlab using the Simulink, Sim power system etc. toolboxes. Simulated results are presented for the linear, nonlinear and motor loads to demonstrate its performance.

Multi agent based energy management control for commercial buildings 基于多智能体的商业建筑能源管理控制

This paper discusses the use of Multi-Agent- Systems to control various systems in a commercial building in order to achieve maximum energy efficiency while maintaining comfort for the occupants and allowing a possible interconnection with a smart-grid. An approximated optimal control is proposed in this paper, where on-line training of a Bayesian state-machine learns the system for a given utility function. Different aspects and challenges associated with the control of a building will be discussed, and a control scheme using Multi-Agent-Systems technology is proposed.

On performances of wavelet modulated three phase AC-DC converters 小波调制三相交直流变换器的性能研究

This paper presents the implementation and performance testing of the wavelet modulation technique for three phase, 6-pulse, voltage source ac-dc converters. The wavelet modulation technique is based on utilizing sets of scale-based linearly-combined wavelet scaling and synthesis basis functions in order to construct a non-dyadic type multiresolution analysis (MRA). The analysis part of the constructed MRA creates three sets of groups of non-uniform recurrent samples from a reference dc signal. The synthesis part of the constructed MRA generates switching signals for operating the three phase ac-dc converter to synthesize the reference dc signal on its output side. The wavelet modulation technique is implemented for performance testing, when operating three phase ac-dc converters. Test results show that the wavelet modulation technique is capable of operating three-phase, 6-pulse, voltage source ac-dc converters to produce outputs with high dc components and reduced harmonic contents, while maintaining close-to-sinusoidal input currents at a nearunity power factor.

Power estimation of induction generators fed from wind turbines 风力发电机供电的感应发电机功率估计

Wind energy has good potential for reducing the environmental impact and cost of electricity generation in diesel based stand-alone systems (mini-grids). However, due to the stochastic nature of wind and the highly variable loads typical of remote communities, the diesel power plants can be subject to significant variation in the power demand. This can create large variations in the grid frequency and also make the diesel gensets operate at low load what can lead to carbon build up in the engines and increased maintenance costs. Some power electronic based wind turbines can provide frequency support to mitigate these problems but might be too costly for operation in small mini-grids. Conversely, there is the fixed-pitch fixed-speed induction generator based (type 1) wind turbine which does not allow any active control but presents low capital and maintenance costs. In this paper, an approach for obtaining the power vs. grid frequency characteristics of a type 1 wind turbine is described and validated experimentally. It shows that the power injected into the grid by a type 1 wind turbine reduces as the grid frequency increases. Therefore, it can help with frequency regulation in a passive way.

Sinusoidal and triangular high voltage neutralizers for accelerated discharge of non-woven fibrous dielectrics 用于无纺布纤维电介质加速放电的正弦和三角形高压中和器

Electric charge accumulation on fibrous dielectric media during manufacturing processes can easily attain high levels of electrostatic hazard. In a previous paper, the authors addressed the problem of the accelerated discharge of such materials using a commercial ion generator. The aim of the present work is to evaluate the various factors that influence the efficiency of charge neutralization performed using a wire-type corona electrode energized from either a sinusoidal or a triangular AC high-voltage supply. The experiments were performed on 400 µm-thick non-weaved sheets of polypropylene and polyester, in ambient air. The samples were charged for 10 seconds using a triode - type corona electrode system of negative polarity. The surface potential on the charged media, which was in contact with the grounded electrode, was then measured with an electrostatic voltmeter. After 10 minutes, the media was moved beneath a neutralizing electrode, connected to a high-voltage amplifier. The efficiency of the neutralization was quantified by the ratio between the surface potential after and prior the charged sample exposure to AC corona discharge. The experimental design methodology was employed for evaluating the effects of two factors: amplitude (range: 16 to 24 kV) and frequency (range: 20 to 400 Hz) of the neutralizing voltage. The potential at the surface of the non-woven fabrics after neutralization was found to vary insignificantly with thermal conditioning and signal waveform, but was significantly lower for higher frequencies and amplitudes.

In a previous paper, the authors addressed the problem of the accelerated discharge of such materials using a commercial ion generator. The aim of the present work is to evaluate the various factors that influence the efficiency of charge neutralization performed using a wire-type corona electrode energized from either a sinusoidal or a triangular AC high-voltage supply. The experiments were performed on 400 µm-thick non-weaved sheets of polypropylene and polyester, in ambient air. The samples were charged for 10 seconds using a triode - type corona electrode system of negative polarity. The surface potential on the charged media, which was in contact with the grounded electrode, was then measured with an electrostatic voltmeter. After 10 minutes, the media was moved beneath a neutralizing electrode, connected to a high-voltage amplifier. The efficiency of the neutralization was quantified by the ratio between the surface potential after and prior the charged sample exposure to AC corona discharge. The experimental design methodology was employed for evaluating the effects of two factors: amplitude (range: 16 to 24 kV) and frequency (range: 20 to 400 Hz) of the neutralizing voltage. Two-dimensional simulation of streamer discharge including the vibrationally excited molecules effects 包括振动激发分子效应的二维流放电模拟

The vibrationally excited molecules play an important role in the plasma process. We numerically calculate the two-dimensional point-to-plane streamer propagation and the vibrational kinetics in atmospheric pressure dry-air (80% N2, 20% O2) environment. The calculated streamer discharge characteristics, such as the mean streamer velocity and the streamer channel radius, show good agreement with an experimentally obtained results. The calculation shows that vibrational temperature for N2 is higher than for O2 and these two temperature have a different spatial distribution.

There is an unfilled market need for a medium-voltage (5 kV–15 kV), arc-resistant, compact metal-clad switchgear for a variety of applications such as data center, marine and critical health care facilities, etc. However, meeting ANSI/IEEE/UL design challenges to come up with such compact, front-accessible switchgear has been very difficult so far. This paper discusses the ANSI/IEEE Standards and explores the design challenges to finding a solution to this multidimensional optimization problem. Analysis and simulation methods of finding an optimal design solution are explained. Modeling of an internal arc inside the switchgear compartments is explained in detail. An example of IEM VESTA-AR™ metal-clad switchgear is used to illustrate the test results. Simulated and test results of an internal arcing event are compared. The use of internal arc simulation as a powerful design tool is explained.
