Design of Arc-Shaped Slot for Enhanced 5G Circular Patch Array Antenna Performance 增强5G圆形贴片阵列天线性能的弧形槽设计

We presented the design of arc-shaped slots on microstrip circular patch array antennas to improve bandwidth performance. Antenna design proposed to work on 5G C-Band application. The addition of an arc-shaped slot design to the CB and microstrip antenna significantly increases the bandwidth performance. The results of this work shown an increase in bandwidth reaching 485 MHz compared to without arc-shaped slot is only 104 MHz. These results are promising for the design of 5G C-Band microstrip antennas which require a wide bandwidth to increase the capacity.

Effect of Drain Splitting on Silicon Nano-Tube Tunnel Field Effect Transistor 漏极劈裂对硅纳米管隧道场效应晶体管的影响

In this research work, researchers have investigated the drain-engineered Silicon nano-tube tunnel FET. The performance of the Tunnel FET (TFET) by modulating the doping concentration in the drain region has been realized. For the realization of the tunnel FET in electronic device simulation non-local band to band tunneling (BTBT) model is utilized. The TFET device proposed in this work is tubular type in which there is a gate inside and outside the tube, due to which the controlling capacity over the charge carriers is excellent. Results have been compared with 45 nm gate length conventional Silicon nano-tube tunnel FET. It has been realized that on decreasing the doping of the split drain region, the ambipolar current decreased from 10-9 A/μm to 10-11 A/μm, due to which it becomes suitable for low power memory applications, devices, and FETs. The outcomes show that the drive capability of the devices is increased.

Thermoelectric Properties of Ti Doping in Bismuth Telluride prepared by Powder Metallurgy Process 粉末冶金法制备碲化铋中Ti掺杂的热电性能

The Ti-doped Bi2Te3 with concentrations 1, 3, and 5 in % Ti were synthesized using a simple powder metallurgy method. It is revealed that the optimum Ti addition in parent material changes the conduction type from undoped n-type into p-type with 1 % Ti concentration. However, the Ti addition above 1 % affects on decreasing the absolute Seebeck coefficient. Furthermore, the conduction type returns to w-type again at 5 % Ti addition. A 70 % and 74 % reduction in the absolute Seebeck coefficient and the electrical resistivity value, respectively, were found in 5 % Ti-doped at near room temperature. Even though the 5 % Ti doping concentration does not give an enhancement effect in the power factor (PF) value at near room temperature, there is a possibility of 5 % Ti-doped achieves a higher PF value than undoped Bi2Te3 at the higher temperature above 500 K.

RSS-Based improved DOA estimation using SVM 基于rss的改进的支持向量机DOA估计

Many applications like wireless communications, radars, objects detection need precise localization particularly in 5G communications. An approach to improve direction of arrival (DOA) estimation based on machine learning, correlation matrix and received signal strength (RSS) is proposed. The proposed method relies on a fine feature selection to rise generalization capability of a support vector machine (SVM) and received signal strength (RSS) to further enhance the generalization capability and angle estimation precision. While standard usage of SVM network with correlation matrix leads to 50% generalization capability the proposed approach rises the performances up to 98%. The approach is tested with success for the estimation of a two-dimensional DOA.

Impact of Overloading Factor on MIMO–SCMA Systems 超载系数对MIMO-SCMA系统的影响

Sparse code multiple access with multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO–SCMA) is one of the technical schemes proposed for 5G communication systems. One of the challenges in 5G network is massive connectivity regarding the number of devices and data volume without spectrum increase. In the SCMA structure, each allocated resource can be accessed by several users at the same frequency and time, which is called the overload factor. This paper investigates MIMO–SCMA performance with various overload scenarios under Rayleigh and AWGN channel models. For single SCMA and MIMO– SCMA with an increased overloading factor up to 300%, the result shows that the processing time significantly increases, and the bit error rate performance is underperformed. However, MIMO-SCMA performance is outperformed others in bit error rate, but processing time complexity is still higher than single SCMA.

Optical Fiber Communication Design and Analysis for A Railway Line A铁路线路光纤通信设计与分析

This paper proposes an optical fiber communication design from Semarang to Surabaya to back up with an additional station and support a longer route than the previous study. This study considers the link budget and the rise time budget analysis to analyze the route’s feasibility. The received power ranges from -22.67 dBm to 12.57 dBm. Meanwhile, the total rise time value ranges from 39.72 ps to 57.17 ps. The results indicate that the proposed design is potentially feasible to work appropriately.

Far UV-C Beam Propagation Characterization in Air Medium for Human Friendly Virus Sterilization 人体友好型病毒在空气介质中的远紫外- c光束传播特性

Emerging of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) since the end of 2019, calls scientist to develop various ways to combat the disease. One of the possible ways is to develop human friendly sterilization room. We report characterization of far UV-C beam propagation in air medium. Several distances and radiation angles of the far UV-C beam was experimentally measured using an UV optical spectrum meter. As a result, the beam has irradiance loss of 0.02 – 0.2 dB/cm and beam radiation angle of about 150 degree for vertical and 180 degree for horizontal. The far UV-C beam can be used for airborne virus sterilization and safe to human skin or eyes. The exposure time varies to the distance from the UVC source.

Design of Lower Limb Exoskeleton for Stroke Patients Gait Rehabilitation 脑卒中患者下肢外骨骼的步态康复设计

The possible gap as the number of stroke patients outgrows the number of therapists encourages the development of the exoskeleton as a multiplier for the therapists. The objective of this study is to design a lower limb exoskeleton for stroke patients’ gait therapy. The design method was started with assessing previous studies, to search for design references and issues of the technology. The previous studies provide information on the brief history of the exoskeleton for gait rehabilitation as well as the various structural, mechanical, and control designs of exoskeletons. Based on the references, we design a simple lower limb exoskeleton and formulate the prototyping and testing plan, from CAD modeling, followed by 3D printing of the model, mockup testing, until prototyping and the clinical test of the prototype. This article describes the preliminary stage of exoskeleton design especially the design process and the results in the form of exoskeleton conceptual design and scale model 1:2. The scale model improves the efficacy of the design study.

Based on the references, we design a simple lower limb exoskeleton and formulate the prototyping and testing plan, from CAD modeling, followed by 3D printing of the model, mockup testing, until prototyping and the clinical test of the prototype. This article describes the preliminary stage of exoskeleton design especially the design process and the results in the form of exoskeleton conceptual design and scale model 1:2. Efficient Organic Photovoltaics Enabled by Aqueous Ammonia-Based Doped Copper Thiocyanate Hole Transport Layer 氨基掺杂硫氰酸铜空穴传输层实现高效有机光伏

The efficiency of organic photovoltaics (OPVs) has been significantly increasing over the past few years, primarily due to the advent of new active layer materials and carrier-selective charge transport interlayers. Many recent research efforts are currently directed toward developing hole transport layers (HTLs) to replace (PEDOT:PSS), which is still broadly utilized as HTLs for standard structure OPVs. Despite the promising features of PEDOT:PSS, the high acidity of the PSS chain is known to compromise the stability of the devices. To address this issue, we propose alternative HTL materials. This study uses copper (I) thiocyanate (CuSCN) prepared from aqueous ammonia solvent as the HTL in efficient nonfullerene-based OPVs. To further increase the efficiency of the CuSCN-based OPVs, we also explore the possibility of adding copper (II) chloride (CuCh) inorganic salt dopant into the CuSCN solution.

Embedded Smart Glove using Ultrasonic and Flame Sensors for Helping Visually Impaired People 使用超声波和火焰传感器的嵌入式智能手套,帮助视障人士

Visually impaired is someone’s condition of lacking visual observation due to neurological and physiological factors. Also, wildfire and coronavirus cases made the situation worst for visually impaired people. A helping tool is very needed to overcome these problems. This paper proposes a prototype of an embedded glove using ultrasonic and flame sensors to provide a convenient and safe method for visually impaired people to overcome difficulties in daily life. Smart glove system prototype based on Arduino UNO microcontroller, ultrasonic and flame sensors, SIM800L GSM module for communication, and buzzer for alarm notification. Then, the complete device prototype was tested using both the acrylic box and embedded at one’s hand as a proof of concept for emphasizing the reliability and usefulness of our work. The results show that the ultrasonic sensor works well for detecting an object with a coverage of 40 cm from the blind. The fire/flame sensor also works well when using fire detection mode for detecting the small fire from matches or lighter at a distance of about 15 cm or big fire from a burnt paper at a distance of about 20 cm and will be sending a short message to the respected person through SIM800L GSM. The only drawback for this device is a bit heavy when used on hand and still lacks an IoT system. However, further research will be conducted to overcome those problems soon.
