In databases field, the term Data Lake is increasingly common, which is a new raw data storage technology to undergo further advanced processing and analysis. Today there are for different ways to implement Data Lake architecture, namely: Data Lake On-Premises, Cloud Data Lake, Hybrid Data Lake and Multi-Cloud Data Lake. Each of these architectures has their own advantages and disadvantages, and yet the new trend is to go in Cloud. In this work, we will briefly explain what a Date Lake is, what the for different architectures are, and we will broadly present the major benefits of the Cloud architecture and its shortcomings in order to provide a preliminary guide on the implementation of Data Lake architecture.

Nowadays, wireless sensor networks (WSNs) appear as an active research area due to challenging issues, including power consumption, routing algorithms, efficiency, and so on. Notwithstanding the open problems in WSN, there is already a high number of applications available. In any case for the design of any application, one of the main goals is to keep WSN as long as possible in terms of the life cycle and function. This paper discussed previous works that focused on the data reduction and routing algorithms, which aims to save energy consumption by the sensor node. Besides, it concludes the limitations in current studies and further research opportunities as well.

In this work, an Enhanced Super twisting-based Robust Integral of the Sign of the Error (RISE) controller is developed and is applied to control a 4 DOF Parallel Kinematic Manipulator (PKM) called – VELOCE. The proposed controller is designed by replacing the integral term of the Super Twisting Control law (STC) by a RISE control term. The main aim of the proposed controller is to benefit from the advantages of STC and RISE control method in order to improve the trajectory tracking performances. Super Twisting Control (STC) method is a powerful tool to control uncertain and nonlinear systems. Better control performances are added to the original STC thanks to RISE control method which ensures semi-global asymptotic tracking without needing the model of the manipulator. To prove the effectiveness of the proposed controller, simulations have been conducted on a 4DOF non redundant parallel manipulator called VELOCE. By comparing the original and proposed controllers, we show on simulation results the clear improvement in trajectory following performance for the proposed controller.

The Vehicle Ad-hoc Network (VANET) represents a developing and emerging intelligent transport technology (ITS) technology that allows interaction between vehicles (V2V) through various IEEE standards, such as IEEE 802.11p. VANET's high mobility of nodes generates major challenges when routing packets through the main target node that must be addressed with various routing protocols. Take that into consideration. In this review paper, we study three sections to describe this review. In the first section, we will explain the principle of data dissemination. In the second section, we will classification and explain the routing protocols for all their types. Finally, we will discuss the challenges for VANETs, data dissemination, and routing protocols.

Soft continuum system-based robots which can interact with different environment are becoming a novel mechatronic system in varied fields. Many soft continuum robot can easily crawl, roll, steer, and climb. These innovatively designed systems are safe, effective and easy to control. In this study, two different soft continuum robotic prototypes are developed for locomotion in pipeline inspections. The motions of these soft robots were inspired from the locomotion behavior of the caterpillar. Unlike other types of soft robotic systems, the developed soft robots do not rely on pneumatic or hydraulic actuators, but can be operated electrically using nickel-titanium (NiTi)-based shape memory alloy (SMA) springs. These soft robot systems are fabricated via casting process using silicone elastomers. The linear locomotion profile of the soft robots are investigated carefully. Prismatic and tubular forms are used for designing of the soft robots to move within the pipelines via actuation of the NiTi shape memory alloy springs. The soft body of the robot systems are made of RTV-2 grade silicone rubber due to its hyperelastic response. A thermo-mechanical training process is applied on the NiTi SMA springs for achieving the linear motion inside of the silicone-based body. A microprocessor is used for creating the locomotion sequence of the soft robotic system. The periodic optimal locomotion sequence of the soft robots is determined by means of experimental investigations.

In this study, the effect of change in financial conditions, which is very important for investment costs in the process of evaluating Turkey’s solar energy potential, is examined by giving different case scenarios. Sizing of the photovoltaic system with 8.9 MW installed power are given which made for Izmir Organized Industrial Zone during the application phase. Production (simulated) and financial performance of the generated system have been compared to the cities of Izmir, Ankara, and Istanbul, which are located in different geographical regions of Turkey and are at a level of similar development from a socio-economic point of view. The investment return made for three city alternatives in the financial conditions of 2018, has been compared with the return provided in the conditions of 2019. Also, for three alternatives; the results of the different scenarios such as the investment costs to be incurred, the land costs in the investment regions, the energy procurement and other additional supports provided by the state are included in the study. In the photovoltaic investment performance; In addition to system sizing, regional selection, and state incentives, the impact of the financial conditions that are constantly changing has been seen to be very important.

Sacrifice stands for the production of goods and function, constitutes the costs of enterprises. Cost is also defined as the provision of consumed goods and functions by a production enterprise. Accuracy of enterprise activity analysis is very important in order to make appropriate decisions in enterprises. The consistency of the results ensures correct decision-making; provides right marketing and competitive advantage. Various elements are effective in the process of product costing. The items on the basis of product are examined one by one and the analysis is carried out to obtain the unit costs that reflect the reality. The aim of this study is to investigate the factors affecting the costs and to estimate the cost in the integrated system, with data mining classifying models in the process of billet production, in an a enterprise for the Iron and Steel sector. It is targeted to compare obtained estimation results with the costs presented inside the enterprise.

There have been developed image encryption algorithm using chaotic map and DNA pseudo-symbols sequence gained on the basis of real DNA symbols. In the suggested algorithm, the address for the selecting of DNA symbols sequence from Gene Bank, encoding rule of the DNA symbols, also the initial parameters of the chaotic map are determined on the secret key basis. Image pixels modification is based on the numerical values of the chaotic points sets coordinates obtained with the chaos play description of the DNA pseudo-symbols and the transference of pixels is based on displacement table constructed with the chaotic map.

Admission chance prediction helps in many ways for candidates such as estimation of results, saving time and effort for higher acceptance chance, selecting the right school and making a good training plan. Admission chance prediction is also very valuable to prepare a good training plan since the physical ability test is one of the most important criteria for admission. Among many Machine Learning approaches, we only used Support Vector Machine (SVM), Single Decision Tree (SDT). In this study, these approaches were applied to train models on the dataset of 403 candidates who applied in 2018. These models were compared to each other for better accuracy and will be used them in the following years. The results were analyzed with K-fold cross-validation to decrease data dependency and increase reliability.
