About 3.5 million graduates, on an average, every year 22,000 graduate students are coming out from Higher Educational Institutions in India, but all of them are not getting employment. Thus, the country has more than 50% able-bodied unemployed (300 million) between the ages of 18 to 50 years and they do not have required skill sets. Recruitment companies say that many of the students, who are coming out with degrees, do not have requisite employability skills to secure employment. It is estimated that by 2025, about 300 million educated youth will be waiting for jobs/ employment in the country. However, employers in India are facing a huge shortage of skilled manpower. Thus, there is little connection between education and employability of students. Ensuring the employability of students is an intrinsic part of good education and is a government priority. It is reflected in the performance indicators of educational institutions and it is likely to become increasingly important to prospective students in their choice of course and required budget for providing good infrastructure. Increasingly, our graduates have to compete for jobs with talented youth outside the states or even outside the country. To secure employment, the students must develop communication skills, self-confidence / high aspirations, transact the course curriculum effectively, involve in extra-curricular activities, aware of job opportunities, develop career related experience, linkages with the providers of employment, aware of selection procedure, face the interviews boldly etc., are important. The present paper entitled ‘Employability in Higher Education: Problems and Prospects’ discusses about the concept of employability, status of employability of students and problems faced for the employability of students. The paper also explains about the need for employability of students and pre-requisites for employability of students. Further, the prospects in the employability of students in higher educational institutions will be discussed.

In Bangladesh, SMEs play a dominant role in the national economy as well as contributing to gross domestic product [2, 3]. The government has already taken some initiatives to support SMEs such as establishing SME foundation, dealing with SME sectors’ problems and facilitating and promoting SME development. However, there are many factors that SME foundations are unable to perform due to inadequate resources and policies. Therefore, this brief paper is aiming to highlight these factors at the present time facing SMEs in the country. The paper is mainly dependent on a secondary research through screening key publications in the literature to determine those factors. The paper has included a general overview of these factors including insufficiency of resources and information, employee turnover and low levels of productivity, poor physical infrastructure and utility support, interest rates and bank loans, availability of appropriate technology, skilled manpower, lack of government support, and external changes. This brief paper opens key considerations for researchers in the field to further explore these factors and to enhance further understanding, and provide key solutions to overcome these challenges to be considered by SMEs, entrepreneurs, and policy developers in the country.

Internet shopping developed fast and has become a very popular shopping channel. The objective of the study is to explore the promotion, brand attitude on consumer buying behavior of the Internet shopping. Questionnaires were sent out to collect the data to understand the shoppers’ attitude. Factor analysis was utilized to analyze the collected data. The results indicated that Internet promotion activities do have impacts on shoppers’ buying behavior, but it is different from person to person; some people are easy to be influenced by the promotion and have higher acceptance to the activities, while the others are not. Additionally, demographics like income, age, education, and gender do have impacts on consumers’ Internet shopping behavior.

Quality of education is determined by conditions of learning in institutions. There are real concerns raised by stakeholders regarding quality of education in Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE) centers in Emuhaya Sub-County, Kenya. Factors contributing to poor quality assurance control in implementation of ECDE curriculum are yet to be established. The purpose of the study was to establish quality assurance factors influencing implementation of ECDE Curriculum in Emuhaya SubCounty, Kenya. The study was based on descriptive survey design. It consisted of 196 teachers drawn from 98 ECDE Centres and 1Program Officer. Simple random sampling technique was used to select 65 teachers. Saturated sampling technique was used to select 1 program Officer. Data was collected by questionnaire, interview schedule and observation schedule. The study concluded that: ECDE Centres did not have adequate teaching learning resources and facilities suitable for ECDE children. This inhibits implementation of ECDE Curriculum. The study recommends that; Intensive monitoring and evaluation system should be developed and implemented to enhance quality assurance by employing more ECDE Quality Assurance and Standards Officers to work hand in hand with The Program Officer in the process of manning ECDE subsector.

The objective of this study is to identify the factors that affect satisfaction of Penang tourists who patronize Penang hawker centres by combining SERVQUAL model with food quality. The collected data from 259 tourists was analyzed and hypotheses were tested by using Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) analysis. Result of this study shows that food quality and service qualities (reliability and assurance) have a significant positive relationship with customer satisfaction. In terms of theoretical significance, this study proved that food quality has greater significant positive relationship with customer satisfaction than service quality. The combination of SERVQUAL model and food quality in testing the customer satisfaction has been validated in this study. The Penang State Government should emphasize on improving the quality of Penang street foods during policy setting process. The findings of this study are applicable to any hawker centre globally to improve the quality of the food.
