Tafsir Nur al-Ihsan is the earliest Malay-language tafsir book that was printed in 1934. This book was written by Hj. Muhammad Sa’d bin ’Umar (d. 1932 AD) presented the interpretation of Surah al-Fatihah as an introduction to the book as is common with the content of other books of interpretation. The interpretation is still general and requires a study to see if it contains the facts of faith and is appropriate to be practiced within the framework of Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama’ah. This study aims to explain the interpretation of Surah al-Fatihah Hj. Muhammad Sa’id in focus of faith. Next, the role of the study is to analyze the beliefs that should be used as guidelines in Muslim life. This study is important in proving that the interpretation of Surah al-Fatihah is always consistent in explaining the principles of faith that are compatible with the apparent content of its verses. Knowledge related to fiqh and tasawwuf is not the main container in the early stages of interpreting the book Tafsir Nur al-Ihsan. This qualitative study applies the inductive method by identifying and gathering the facts of belief from the content of the interpretation of Surah al-Fatihah. The descriptive method is carried out to analyze the facts of belief in the aspect of emphasis of belief, comparison of facts between sources of interpretation and then formulate the emphasis of belief. The findings of the study show that the interpretation of Surah al-Fatihah contains principles of belief that are parallel to the Pillars of Faith. Belief in Allah S.W.T is always emphasized in every verse based on the appearance of the verse and has similarities with some books of al-ma’thur interpretation such as Tafsir Ibn Kathir and Tafsir al-Tabari. The study found that the emphasis on belief is in line with the teachings of Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama’ah. Although the method of interpretation is simple without long debates, readers of tafsir have the opportunity to gain a clear and authentic knowledge of the faith behind the interpretation of Surah al-Fatihah.

The dissemination of unauthorized hadith is an issue that has continuously plagued generations of Muslim scholars. Nowadays tremendous effort has been made to resolve this issue wisely. If failed to do so, there is a risk of distorting the purity of hadith which will in turn confuse the Muslims because the Hadith they have been referring to are a mix of sahih and weak. In response to this, many related parties in Malaysia have come forth to help tackle this issue and to ensure that the mediums used in delivering Hadith are free from dispersion of these rejected substances. Therefore, the objective of this study is to discover the efforts made by these organizations, be it government, private or Islamic, that are taking part in resolving this issue. Furthermore, this study also aims to identify the challenges faced by them so that the appropriate solutions can be taken. There are two parts of methodology used in this study. The first part is data gathering in which two methods were used: documentation and interviews as supporting data. The second part is data analysis in which the method of content analysis was used. This study proves that the organizations in Malaysia related to this matter are committed in resolving this issue, taking the effort into various fields such as law, research and studies as well as taking advantage of modern technology. These programmes are undoubtedly beneficial for the Muslims in Malaysia, providing assistance to ensure their hadith resources are not contaminated by impurities.

The "black seed" is one of the most important types of plants mentioned in the hadith of the Prophet S.A.W, Several authentic hadiths were reported from the prophet S.A.W confirming its health benefits from diseases. Based on this, many scientists studied this seed from a scientific and experimental point of view, they discovered many benefits for this seed and considered it a healthy food for many diseases. At last, they discoverd its benefits for cancer, which is described as a deadly disease, because this disease has caused the death of more than one million annually in the world. This article comes to study the hadiths contained in the black seed and to explain the benefits that scientists discovered through scientific experiments. The researchers used the inductive and analytical method in defining the black seed and collecting the hadiths related to it and studying those hadiths. They also used the inductive and descriptive method in collecting the findings of ancient and modern scholars regarding the benefits of the black seed and presenting some of them.

Allāh has revealed a comprehensive religion, which covers all aspects of life for humanity, and adequate for them for all ages. Therefore, Allāh has created to every disease a suitable remedy, which tackles it. However, the unawareness of the cures of maladies in the Qur’ān has led to the negligence of the implementation of these rules in coping with such diseases. Further, the Contemporary medicine has had the lion's share in dealing with the maladies, which resulted in a defective cure. Therefore, this study aims to shed light on how to cure the maladies from a Qurʾānic perspective. Besides, it will pave the path to eradicate all diseases, which can contaminate the body, the soul as well for a sole individual and the entire society. By employing the inductive and deductive method, the study concluded that natural medicine, Qurʾānic medicine, and prophetic medicine, especially the recitation of Sūrat al-Fātiḥah, al-Baqarah, Āl ʻImrān, al-Kahf, al-Isrāʼ, al-Mulk, al-kāfirīn, al-Ikhlāṣ, al-Falaq, al-Nās, Āyat al-Kursī, ends of Sūrat al-Baqarah, al Ruqyah al-Sharʻīyah, seeking of refuge, and the authentic prophetic supplications; guard the muslim against all kinds of harm, with the permission of God Almighty, except death and old age, but not as necessary, so whoever was afflicted by illness while maintaining these various medicines, that is the decree of God Almighty, and he has great wisdom in his command and destiny.

The effort of teaching al-Quran to childrens has been applied by parents as early as four years old. This effort continues in primary school since 7 to 12 years old with j-QAF syllabus in National Primary Schools and also additional KAFA classes in religious primary schools. However, the effectiveness of tajwid syllabus on students' ability to read al-Quran is still in unsatisfactory level. Among the factors which contribute to the weakness of students are incompetent teachers, less effective teaching and learning methods which further affect the ability to read al-Qur'an with tajwid when move to secondary school. The students who have reached the secondary school level need to be helped by looking at one of the factors contributing to this weakness, which is less effective teaching aids. This study aims to review the need of the development of tajwid self-learning modules to comprehend tajwid practices among National Secondary School Students. This study is a qualitative study which is collecting documentation from literature studies that touch on the skills of reciting the Qur'an. The results of this study found that the method of teaching Ilmu Tajwid and teaching aids need to be upgraded so that students can practice it independently at school and home. In conclusion, new teaching aids such as the Red Sign Tajwid Self-Training Module need to be developed to facilitate the process of imparting Ilmu Tajwid that can be used by student independently in class and home.

This article explores the knowledge related to Tarannum al-Qur'an and highlights the definition of Tarannum al-Qur'an, the history of the Tarannum development, the Tarannum streams and its types. This research approach is a qualitative study, where the research methodology used in this writing is a content analysis and unstructured interview. The main references for this study are the book of Tarannum al-Qur'an and the articles related to Tarannum al-Qur'an. This paper aims to see the similarities and differences of opinion between two Tarannum books regarding to the characteristics of each Tarannum. Then, this study analyzes the elements that are the characteristics of each Tarannum types with the experts and as a result of the content analysis, the elements are arranged and calssified into a table in the findings of the study. The initial survey was conducted by briefly interviewing the reciters (qari) regarding to the method or technique in reciting Tarannum. Findings show that the practiced on reciting Tarannum al-Qur’an recited by the reciters in Malaysia was based on Tarannum songs and does not emphasize the meaning of the verses of the Qur'an due to several factors.

Humans require food to survive. Plants are one of the sources of human food. The concept of plants based on the Quran is explored in various interesting themes, but there is still room for research on this topic, such as the study about the concept of plant-based food based on Imam Al-Razi in Tafsīr Mafātīhul Ghayb. This tafsīr was chosen because it broadens the naqli and aqli aspects that can be used in modern scientific studies, particularly in the fields of nutritional science and medicine. Thus, based on Tafsīr Mafātīhul Ghayb, this study will examine verse 99 of surah al-An‘am. Tafsīr Mafātīhul Ghayb is regarded as a useful reference in the study of plant sources in the food according to the Quran. This qualitative study used the content analysis method and thematic analysis on surah al-An‘am verse 99. According to the study’s findings, this verse describes the concept of plant-based food by incorporating six themes: plants come from water, green elements of plants, the hierarchy of plant-based food, plant category, fruit ripening phase, and Allah SWT as the Creator of plants.

The concept of plants based on the Quran is explored in various interesting themes, but there is still room for research on this topic, such as the study about the concept of plant-based food based on Imam Al-Razi in Tafsīr Mafātīhul Ghayb. This tafsīr was chosen because it broadens the naqli and aqli aspects that can be used in modern scientific studies, particularly in the fields of nutritional science and medicine. Thus, based on Tafsīr Mafātīhul Ghayb, this study will examine verse 99 of surah al-An‘am. Tafsīr Mafātīhul Ghayb is regarded as a useful reference in the study of plant sources in the food according to the Quran. This qualitative study used the content analysis method and thematic analysis on surah al-An‘am verse 99. One of the significant criteria of an authentic ḥadīth is, it is free from any syudzūdz and ‘illah in its sanad or matn, and this criterion is related to one important criterion, which is ḍabṭ al-rāwi. A ḥadīth narrator is categorized into different levels and groups based on his ‘adālah and ḍabṭ, and hence his narrations will be labeled as Ṣaḥīḥ, Ḥasan, or Ḍa‘īf. There is a group of generally trustworthy ḥadīth narrators, but their narrations in certain circumstances are considered inadequate due to poor memory. Simāk Ibn Ḥarb falls under this category. According to most ḥadīth scholars, he is a trustworthy narrator, and his narrations are in significant ḥadīth encyclopedias. Unfortunately, his narrations from his teacher, ‘Ikrimah mawla Ibn ‘Abbās, are inconsistent; therefore, some of the ḥadīth experts like al-Bukhāri and Muslim, the authors of the two most authentic ḥadīth books, did not record any narration from this chain in their books, and they classified this chain as a defected one. At the same time, other ḥadīth scholars like the authors of al-Sunan al-Arba’ah, Ibn Khuzaymah, and Ibn Ḥibbān, the authors of two ṣaḥīḥ books, recorded a considerable number of his narrations from this chain. This scenario raises an inevitable question regarding the reason and methodology of these scholars in doing so despite their knowledge of the problematic chain. In this study, I will examine thirteen narrations of this chain in the book of al-Sunan by Abū Dāwūd, which is one of the essential ḥadīth books in Islamic tradition. After thoroughly studying the narrations, I conclude that Abū Dāwūd had recorded those narrations where he was confident that Simāk Ibn Ḥarb had memorized them properly from his teacher, Ikrimah, based on the syawāhid and mutāba’ah. As for the sole narrations from this chain, Abū Dāwūd recorded them because the practices of some fuqahā’ support them or because the ḥadīth is under the mursal category, which is considered sufficient as fiqh evidence. This methodology is known as al-intiqā’, where a ḥadīth scholar will choose some narrations from a narrator or a chain, after being confident that the content of the narrations is accurate. Thus, it is unmethodological to impose a general ruling on each narration from this chain as weak without thoroughly examining them case by case, especially if the narration is in a ṣaḥīḥ book or al-sunan al-arba’ah.

Therapy for the healing of spiritual problems with a cold water is one of the treatment methods practiced by some Islamic Treatment Centers in Malaysia. It is also associated as a method of Islamic medicine, which refers to treatment methods based on the Quran or Sunnah. The main focus of this article is to review the extent of the validity of claims relating to this treatment as one of the methods of Islamic medicine. Research through inductive and descriptive analysis methods on related sources of the Sunnah is carried out. The study seeks to examine and analyze naṣ of syara’ used by Islamic treatment centers as the basis of cold water in the therapy of healing spiritual problems. Several interview sessions were conducted to identify the relationship between the treatment and the sources of the Qur'ān and Sunnah. The results of the interviews found that the processor referred to verse 42 in surah Ṣād regarding the story of the prophet Ayyub as an argument in the use of cold water as the spiritual therapy. They do not refer to any hadith as an argument for this kind of therapy. Meanwhile, searching in Islamic references and hadith collections found as many as 4 hadith that can be used as a basis to support the use of this treatment method as a therapeutic attempt to heal spiritual problems. However, the texts of the hadith do not specifically state about this treatment method, rather they are only general indication for it. While in the implementation aspect, the cold water therapy carried out by the treatment centers involved was found not to contain anything that is against the Islamic Law. Therefore, cold water therapy can be categorized as one of the methods of Islamic medicine.

This research aims to demonstrate the efforts of linguistic and rhetorical interpreters in the quest of al Qur’an meanings’ clarification and extract Islamic sharia provisions with reference to Arabic language arts such as grammar, morphology, rhetoric and dictionaries, as well as the sciences of jurisprudence, logic and others. That is by choosing, studying and clarifying some of the words of the Qur’an such as the difference between “creates and does,” and “from its places,” “after its places,” the different meanings in “laughed,” and proportionality in the context of “hunger and thirst,” and clarifying the significance of the consequence and becoming. The research attempts to answer several questions, the most important of which are: What is the role of the Arabic grammar, dictionaries, morphology and rhetoric in clarifying the purposes of vocabulary and Quranic texts and how did the interpreters manage to adapt Arabic language arts in order to understand the Qur’anic text as well as to extract Islamic sharia provisions. The research used the descriptive analytical method to demonstrate how interpreters use Arabic language arts in order to understand the Qur’anic text. The research reached several results, including that the interpreters pay attention to the linguistic levels during their analysis of the Qur’anic verses, starting from the meanings of the vocabulary to the relationships of the sentences and the context of the text; they use the verses to demonstrate al Qur’an miracles and to derive the Islamic sharia provisions.
