A magnetic sensors feasibility investigation for continuous intraocular pressure monitoring 磁传感器连续监测眼压的可行性研究

A feasibility study on an intraocular magnetic sensor for continuous monitoring of the pressure inside the eyes is introduced. In this first approach the system consists on a coil designed for special goggles and on a small cylinder of magnetic material aimed at simulating the magnetic sensor. The analysis has been carried out from both an experimental and theoretical point of view. In particular perturbative methods have been adopted for evaluating the inductance variation. Results from measurements have shown a good agreement with theory and they appear to be encouraging for further studies.

Capacitive sensor for incremental angular measurement 增量角度测量的电容式传感器

This paper presents a new approach for the design of incremental angular position and angular speed sensors, using a capacitive technology. Transmitter and receiver segments are integrated with the sensor electronics on a single PCB. As the sensor measures the change of capacitance in dependence of the rotor position, any conductive or dielectric material can be used for the gear-tooth rotor. The carrier frequency excitation and the differential sensor output assure a high level of EMC.

Magnetic field sensing in the underground construction environment 地下建筑环境中的磁场传感

Industrial magnetic field sensing applications often address such problems as crack detection, gear tooth (or missing gear tooth) detection, tramp metal detection in a process stream, proximity detection, vehicle counting, and similar tasks. The general sensor community is little aware of another industrial application in which magnetic fields are used for short-range distance measurements and data communication in the underground construction environment. In such problems, the magnetic field sensor becomes an antenna for a magnetic field receiver. This paper discusses magnetic field sensing in two situations conventionally called locating and tracking applications encountered in underground construction. Problems of this type typically involve magnetic fields from line or dipole sources, respectively, giving equipment for each problem a particular physical structure and mathematical foundation.

Calibration and adjustment of an eddy current based multi-sensor probe for non- destructive testing 基于涡流的多传感器无损检测探头的校准和调整

In this paper an easy way to calibrate and adjust the output response of a multi-sensor probe for non-destructive testing on conductive material is proposed in order to perform the calibration, a simple coil is used, considered as a reference magnetic field generator thanking to a preliminary characterization carried out by using a simulation software. An FFT based algorithm was then used for probe adjustment. The calibration and adjustment apparatus can be easily integrated in the realized multi-sensor probe, so realizing a self-calibrating NDT instrument. The realized probe has then been tested on specimen with known cracks and the experimental results have been compared with the theoretical ones showing a very good agreement.

In this paper we present the description and the experimental characterization of a system for chemical recognition made up of sensors, first conditioning electronics and DSP-based processing electronics. A test apparatus is built to manage gravimetric sensor arrays and a suitable neural network is applied to their outputs. Classification results are available on a Web server that has been embedded in the DSP electronics. Finally, to show system capability, an experiment with three different vapors is carried out.

AC current-to-voltage transducer based on digital processing of Rogowski coils signal 基于Rogowski线圈信号数字处理的交流电流电压传感器

Rogowski coils represent an attractive solution for AC current measurement, since they feature a wide bandwidth, high degree of galvanic insulation, and low cost compared to traditional measuring system like shunts and current transformers. The drawback in their use is represented by the need for integrating the EMF picked up at their terminals. The integration of the EMF signal is classically obtained by an analog integrator. problems related to the availability of suitable electronic integrator circuits usually limit the use of the Rogowski coil in the field of very large currents and/or very fast electrical transients. In a recent work, the authors developed a new integration process of the EMF signal induced in the coil, using digital signal processing. Since this approach was based on a data acquisition board and a PC, it was not suitable for industrial application. For this reason, we propose a novel and improved integration process, still based on a simple digital signal processing but implemented now in a stand alone board. The new system is characterized by accuracy and stability levels of the output signal well suitable for the majority of industrial applications, especially when low-amplitude and low-frequency current measurements are considered.

The use of tapered fibers in an intensity based single mode temperature sensor 锥形光纤在基于强度的单模温度传感器中的应用

In this paper a single mode fiber optic sensor for monitoring temperature changes has been modeled, built and evaluated. The fiber optic sensor has been developed using a biconically tapered single-mode optical fiber. The tapered fiber is mounted in a groove cut within a polymer rod and straight clamped at the rod edges. The sensor is activated by heating it at a reference temperature according to the desired range of the sensor. The induced bending is the effect produced by expansion or contraction of the polymer rod. The activation temperature and the taper dimensions play a key role in the performance of the designed sensor. For the same taper length, a larger activation temperature determines a higher total loss in the taper. Additionally, a decrease in the taper length over the same temperature range with the same activation temperature will establish an increase in the total loss of the taper. The experimental and simulated results showed a good consistency in the fabrication of the designed sensors. The main features of the designed fiber optic sensor are good repeatability, wide dynamic range, low weight, small size and low cost.

A low-cost absorbance meter for dissolved compounds identification and concentration evaluation is proposed. The main elements of the system are a white light source and a set of three colored light-to-voltage converters. The system includes auto-calibration capabilities and compensates spectral sensitivity variation of the optical source and detectors. A neural network-processing scheme is used to identify dissolved compounds and evaluate the correspondent concentrations.

Pseudo Stereo Vision System: modifications for accurate measurements in 3-D space using camera calibration 伪立体视觉系统:修改精确测量在三维空间使用相机校准

In this paper, first, a new method for mirrors alignment in Pseudo Stereo Vision System (PSVS) and a new user interface, which measures the quality of mirrors alignment, are described. Using this user interface the measurement of the length of the baseline in PSVS is possible. Then, a well-known method for camera calibration is implemented to each virtual camera of the PSVS and the modified equations giving the coordinates of a random point in 3-D space are recalculated. Using these modified equations and algorithms for point correspondence and robot path points calculation presented in our previous papers, higher accuracy experimental results are illustrated.

Using this user interface the measurement of the length of the baseline in PSVS is possible. Then, a well-known method for camera calibration is implemented to each virtual camera of the PSVS and the modified equations giving the coordinates of a random point in 3-D space are recalculated. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the Sandia National Laboratories (SNL) are collaborating on the design and fabrication of thin-film multijunction thermal converters (MJTCs). A brief description of thermal converters and their applications is presented, followed by descriptions of the motivation, fabrication processes, physical characteristics and the electrical properties of the thin-film MJTCs produced by the NIST/SNL project.
