Territorial marketing aims to build a long-term strategy to structure and communicate territorial offers and integrates several elements that are essential for successful implementation. The local community, from residents to firms, is a fundamental element in the success of this strategy. This paper analyzes the perceptions of different stakeholders regarding their involvement in the strategic process of marketing the municipality of Bragança (a historical municipality in the northeast of Portugal) as a tourist destination. This study employed a mixed methods methodology. In the first part (qualitative analysis), interviews were carried out with the different competent bodies in the promotion and communication of the destination and with the county’s tourist entities. In the second phase (quantitative analysis), questionnaire surveys were conducted in the local community to complement the first part of the methodology. The results show little involvement of tourism entities in the construction and communication of the destination, as well as some gaps in identification with the destination. These results reinforce and justify the importance of the local community in marketing territories (which is fundamental), as well as the construction of a set of recommendations aimed at solving some of the problems found through the adopted methodology.

Exhibitions attract an increasing number of visitors, which, in turn, greatly influence the destination’s economy. Past studies paid little attention to exploring both internal and external attributes of the exhibition. The purpose of this study is to identify the multi-level attributes that motivate visitors to attend the exhibition, and explore their effects on value co-creation, satisfaction and re-exhibit intentions. A total of 395 valid questionnaires from the 26th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area International Auto show at Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center were collected. By using Partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM), the results revealed that three dimensions of exhibition attributes (exhibition, travel and destination) are all significantly related to satisfaction and value co-creation, while travel-related factors have the greatest impact on satisfaction and value-co-creation. Furthermore, satisfaction and value co-creation all positively influence re-exhibit intention. This study helps exhibition organizers, tourism destination marketers and government agencies to establish strategies by considering travel purposes as a priority to attract potential tourists. It also helps future scholars to deeply understand tourists’ co-creation experience with an exhibition.

Multiple religious cultures coexisted and prospered.in Quanzhou. Using the data from 608 religious sites in different dynasties as the main time nodes, the spatial distribution of religious sites and their evolution process were analyzed from the perspectives of spatial distribution type, trend, density and equilibrium with Geographic Information System (GIS). Findings show: The spatial distribution of religious sites is concentrated, the agglomeration situation is obvious, and the degree of agglomeration is increasing. The religious sites as a whole show a trend from southeast to northwest, and spreading from the coast to the inland areas. The high-density core area distribution is characterized by multi-core to single-core accumulations, and the number of high-density core areas is reduced. Religious sites are spatially represented by an unequal probability distribution, with local agglomeration centered on Quanzhou City, but the overall trend is constantly balanced; the spatial distribution of religious sites is influenced by both human and natural environments.

While Greece has historically hosted many minority groups in various relational statuses with the majority population, the Roma uniquely embody practical, psychological and metaphorical spaces that sets them apart from other excluded groups. This study explores the historico-social space that separates the Roma and contextualizes recent developments, including Covid-19, which further marginalizes the group. The transactional space that defines relations between Roma and non-Roma encompasses a ‘gaze’ that disenfranchises Gypsy cultural standing and reduces mutual understanding between mainstream and marginalized communities. This same transactional space is rife with misunderstanding that profits normative day-to-day relations between Roma and those in mainstream society. The paper explores perceptions of the Roma within the Greek social hierarchy, while suggesting study abroad programming, as part of academic tourism, can play a positive role in altering perceptions of minority groups.

The common practice of connecting to one’s job outside the primary office by using ICTs is linked to adverse outcomes like work-family conflict and poor-sleep quality. However, outcomes are shown to vary between individuals. This work aims to establish the root cause behind individual variations by unearthing the foundational generative mechanisms that lead to the outcomes. The ontological and epistemological approach of critical realism is used to propose a novel conceptual framework that offers a three-way interaction effect between psychological control over work-life balance, emotion regulation strategies and job-connectedness outcomes. According to the framework positive emotion regulation generated by the appropriate use of savoring and dampening strategies elicits specific neurobiological processes that mitigate adverse outcomes of job-connectedness. This work theoretically extends Bandura’s agentic perspective of socio-cognitive theory and practically provides managers with a deep understanding of the generative forces underlying human functioning that can be leveraged for hiring, leadership development and performance-management. An additional contribution of this work is providing a taxonomy of traditionally interchangeably-used terms to denote different kinds of alternate work arrangements, thus clearing the prevalent ambiguity in literature. A research limitation is the theoretical nature of the framework that needs to be tested empirically to confirm the effect sizes of the proposed relationships. This work is timely and offers future research directions in the interdisciplinary fields of IS and psychology.

The exchange rate is one of the most important factors affecting the travel costs of tourists. Therefore, the depreciation of the national currency makes tourist travel cheaper. Similarly, the appreciation of the national currency makes travel more expensive for tourists. From this point of view, this study aims to seek the effects of real effective USD/TRY exchange rate on tourism income and average tourism expenditure per capita for the period 2003Q1-2019Q4. In the empirical analysis, the Granger causality test was used to examine the relationship between the variables. According to the results of the study, a bilateral Granger causality relationship was determined between the real effective USD/TRY exchange rate and the average tourism expenditure per capita. However, Granger causality could not be determined between the real effective USD/TRY exchange rate and tourism income. Afterwards, variance decomposition and impulse-response functions analyses were performed to support the results obtained from the Granger causality test. According to the results of the variance decomposition analysis, the ratio of the average tourism expenditure per capita in Turkey to be explained by tourism income and real effective exchange rate is quite high.

The purpose of this study is to research the relationship between tourism development in the province of Burdur, satisfaction, support to tourism development and tourism entrepreneurship. The research model developed was based upon the theory of social change and was tested by using PLS-SEM. The data were obtained from 390 persons residing in the province of Burdur by using the survey method. The findings have revealed significant relationships between positive economic and sociocultural effect in tourism development and satisfaction by tourism development, support for tourism development and tourism entrepreneurship. No relationship between positive environmental effect, negative economic, sociocultural and environmental effect, and satisfaction by tourism development was confirmed. The results are coherent with the theory of social change in terms of indicating that the residents of Burdur perceive much the benefits in tourism development, but not yet the costs. Moreover, the findings of this study reveal the tourism entrepreneurship role of the residents, although the tourism development studies neglect the tourism entrepreneurship of the residents on a large scale.

This is a research paper that is focused on assessing the toxic leadership impacts of Project Management (Employer) on an 81Km road construction project in Nepal in terms of project performance. An interpretive methodology was utilised in order to help understand implicitly the management leadership’s impact on the project. The scope for this research was the on-site supervisory team. The targeted population of interest was made up of 13 engineers located at 2 on-site offices in the early construction phase of a road construction project. The research outcomes consisted of five (5) main themes with corresponding nineteen (19) sub-themes.The paper addresses raised issues of toxic leadership and determines outcomes and implications for the continuing project construction management. The paper also discloses that the Project Management of the Employer has been inadequate. Another specific outcome indicates that more effective leadership training focused on utilizing and embracing contemporary project leadership developments is essential to bring the project back into alignment with the planned Contractual construction schedules. The Employer road construction management appears to be very weak due to their low level of technical knowledge, toxic leadership style, orientation and strategies adopted for the Project Management. The Employer also appears to operate with a demonstrated lack of coherent leadership or oversight that has resulted from a Toxic Leader approach. The outcomes of the integrated analysis shows that this has negatively altered the project quality and delivery expectations. Significant changes have been recommended to address these raised toxic leadership issues.

Romanian museums have a rich cultural heritage that is intrinsically valuable to its citizens, however, the number of visitors has been decreasing in recent years as individuals prefer to visit more dynamic and more effectively promoted tourism and cultural establishments. An interactive presence on social media can switch the attention of different cohorts as well as provide a space where people feel free to express their feelings and opinions and thus could also influence the decisions of others in regards to visiting these cultural heritage establishments. This article investigates 1,790 comments posted on Facebook from January to June 2021 by visitors of the Romanian museums to find the emotional responses regarding their experiences. R software delivered the text mining results, sentiment scores, and emotion classifications. In addition, the EViews software was used to produce images regarding the relationships between emotions and sentiments. As a result, we have found that the visitors expressed favorable emotional responses to the Romanian museums’ activities.
