Ondřej Koželuh
The aim of the presented study is to compare the pre-primary sphere of education in all three countries, to compare identical and different aspects of education systems and to describe the tested phenomena of pre-primary education of individual countries Preprimární vzdělávání v ČR, Anglii a na Novém Zélandu Ondřej Koželuh 71 based on agreement, similarity or difference in order to find inspiring elements. The data needed for the analysis will be taken from the OECD and Eurydice databases, the pre-primary education curricula of the countries concerned and the official materials published by the individual ministers. Research design is desk research. The comparison showed that each surveyed country can in some respects serve as an inspiration for the others (eg Compulsory last preschool year in the Czech Republic, high financial subsidy from the budget to the pre-primary sphere in New Zealand and the existence of a separate document (Early education and childcare) connecting school and family in England).

Developing the Desired Axiological Values of the Lower-Secondary School Pupils through the publication Children with a Star
Pub Date : 2021-12-22 DOI: 10.5507/epd.2021.032
M. Mašát
In the contribution, we present the possible use of the publication by Mario Escobar Children with a Star (2020) in educational practice with a focus on basic institutional education. After an introduction, in which we approach the methodology of analysis of Escobar’s narrative and in which we approach the relevance of the Shoah for contemporary society, in the theoretical part of the paper we present the concepts of the Shoah and the Holocaust in curricular documents of selected countries with emphasis on the Czech Republic. Furthermore, we present the expected outcomes of selected educational disciplines and cross-sectional topics that can be fulfilled on the basis of a given artistic narrative. In the practical part of the article, we deal with the possible application of the currently most widely used method for acquainting pupils and students with one line of the Second World War, the Shoah or the Holocaust, namely on the basis of the story of a specific individual. We present the didactic potential of the book based on excerpts from the given publication. Selected examples can be included in the area of multilateral depiction of Shoah events, with the fact that we have selected from the narrative those which, in addition to developing desirable axiological values of recipients, in our opinion fulfil selected expected outcomes of Citizenship Education, Literary Education and some crosscutting themes.
