Fast convergence mechanisms and features deployment within operator backbone infrastructures 运营商骨干基础设施内的快速收敛机制和特性部署

The goal of backbone operators like: Orange/France telecom, Cegetel , AT&T, Sprint, BT…etc, is minimizing impact on customer applications due to failures and interruptions within their backbone. Data backbones based on MPLS /VPN infrastructures are widely deployed over the world, giving connectivity to enterprises and public users with on demand added services. Ideally: customers will see no interruption at all, tending to make backbone failures as transparent as possible to end applications. That is why tuning configuration of routers and routing mechanisms, introducing features that help to minimize interruption durations within the backbone. In this paper we will give an overview of fast convergence mechanisms and features deployment within data network infrastructures. Will be discussed standard features like: “bidirectional failure detection” (BFD) [1] which provides fast failure detection for all media types, encapsulations, topologies, and routing protocols, and how it is the way to go when the physical media does not provide any way of detecting a failure, fast enough to meet fast convergence design requirement, Mpls ldp-igp synchronization [5]: which ensures that LDP is fully established before the IGP path is used for switching. It achieves this by not building IGP neighbor-ship before the LDP [6] neighbor-ship is established, will be discussed also some other relevant features ….

Slow light for microwave photonics applications 微波光子学应用中的慢光

This paper focuses in slow light and its application in microwave photonics. It makes a brief review of microwave photonics evolution from its inception to new emerging topics. Subsequently, the principles, techniques, and applications of slow light in microwave photonics are addressed more in depth. Finally, the photonic crystal approach is presented as a promising approach to slow-light-based microwave photonics devices. The peculiar design flexibility of this approach is demonstrated with a series of simulations.

The analysis of surface plasmon polariton (SSP) propagation through a long nano-metallic channel by a spatio-temporal finite element model is presented in detail for the first time. Interesting results showing the evolution of the signal's temporal information together with the signal's transverse spatial distribution along the channel's axis will be reported.

Services provisioning in ubiquitous mobile wireless environments 在无处不在的移动无线环境中提供服务

Ubiquitous computing has gained momentum over the last years with the expansion of mobile devices. One area of pervasive computing is context-aware systems which are applications designed to react to the constant changes in the environment. This project presents a context aware platform that handles context acquiring and processing and manages the service provisioning. The platform alleviates the process of high level application development and sets a common ground for building applications and services.

Quality of service in MAQAME Architecture MAQAME架构中的服务质量

Due to the advance in Wireless technology, ubiquitous Internet access, and improvements to mobile device technology, mobile services flourishe considerably and will continue to do so as the number of mobile users begins to multiply. However, this range of published mobile services introduces a new challenging problem, in addition to the diversity of discovery protocols and the heterogeneity of interaction protocols. This challenge concerns the ability to find at runtime relevant mobile services in term of QoS for users among those implementing similar functionalities according to their device constraints and their preferences. To this end and taking into account the diversity of QoS specification languages, we present in this paper an approach to determine at runtime the appropriate needed mobile service related to device capabilities, client preferences, execution context and mobile service features. This approach is currently under implementation on MAQAME Architecture suggested in a previous work.

Turbo packet combining for broadband MIMO relay communication 宽带MIMO中继通信的Turbo分组组合

In this paper, we provide a survey of cooperative automatic repeat request (ARQ) protocols for multi-relay systems operating over multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) broadband channels. We study three main operating modes: amplify-and-forward (AF), decode-and-forward (DF), and positive/negative acknowledgment (ACK/NACK)-aided DF. We describe efficient minimum mean square error (MMSE) frequency domain equalization (FDE) iterative turbo packet combining techniques for cooperative ARQ, and show that they outperform conventional log-likelihood ratio (LLR)-based turbo combining.

Electromagnetic scattering from Conical Horn analysis using wavelet-based moment method 基于小波矩法的圆锥角电磁散射分析

In this paper Conical horn Antenna has been analyzed by two methods, the first one is an asymptotic one which is the aperture integration based on the geometrical optics (GO), the second one is a numerical method based on the well known moment method and improved by wavelets. In this work we intend first to introduce the application of wavelet in electromagnetic scattering, then a comparison of the two method of analysis is presented to show the limit of use of the asymptotic method and to emphasize on the fact that moment method is an exact method which is improved by the introduction of wavelet by reduction of both memory space and processing time, this is well presented and compared with different type wavelets.

A fully integrated LC-VCO fabricated in 0.13 µm CMOS technology is presented in this paper. The VCO achieves a wide tuning range of 31.43 % (from 3.841 GHz to 5.381 GHz). The measured phase noise is −120.63 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset from the carrier at 5.287 GHz. The current dissipation of the VCO is 1.32 mA from the 1.5 V power supply. The VCO figure of merit is greater than 190 placing this design among the top of the state-of-the-art.

Study and proposal of a mapping between the classes of 3G services and DiffServ model for IP/MPLS transport network IP/MPLS传输网络中3G业务类与DiffServ模型映射的研究与建议

The establishment of All-IP architecture is today, a major challenge to many telecommunications operators. This is a necessary passage towards the world of simplicity and convergence offered by new technologies and those to come. In this article, we show that the current evolution of communications networks tends towards the adoption of IP technology and QoS support from end to end. In this context, we demonstrate that IP / MPLS networks need to have a QoS architecture sufficiently mature to support the management of priority in terms of delay, jitter and loss rate required by the services. Thus, we propose a mapping between the classes of services 3G and the DiffServ model for transport IP/MPLS network, and prove the excellence of quality guaranteed network.

This is a necessary passage towards the world of simplicity and convergence offered by new technologies and those to come. In this article, we show that the current evolution of communications networks tends towards the adoption of IP technology and QoS support from end to end. In this context, we demonstrate that IP / MPLS networks need to have a QoS architecture sufficiently mature to support the management of priority in terms of delay, jitter and loss rate required by the services. FDTD study of surface plasmons and perfect tunneling of power in parallel-plate waveguides 平行板波导中表面等离子体的时域有限差分研究及功率的完美隧穿

Perfect tunneling of power through waveguides can be achieved by taking advantage of surface plasmon conditions. A few years ago, a waveguide filled by metamaterials with negative parameters was proposed in order to achieve such perfect tunneling behaviour. The aim of this communication is to both analyze and visualize in the time domain a structure presenting both a plasmonic resonance and perfect tunneling behaviour. This work is carried out by using the Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) formulation presented in. As shown here, a waveguide filled with a dispersive material is necessary, but it is not mandatory for this material to be DNG. In addition, the main advantage of the FDTD formulation used here is that it is able to directly incorporate any arbitrary high-order frequency dependence of the constitutive parameters, allowing a realistic characterization of high-order dispersive materials.
