Abstract : This research purposes is prove the impact of adopting tablet PCs on enhancement of teach-ing in secondary schools of Mauritius. The research was conducted by mixed method which comprised of quantitative and qualitative approaches for the data gathering process in Mauritius schools. A sam-ple of 400 participants were asked to participate to answer the questionnaire and the data captured was analyzed using software and it is restricted to reliability analysis, descriptive statistics analysis, correla-tion analysis, and custom tables’ analysis for the quantitative data. As for the qualitative data, the reac-tions collected from teachers convoked for the focus group which was analyzed and reflected upon. Results from the studies and researches have shown more positive impacts than negative ones which affect teaching in secondary schools of Mauritius. The best means, therefore, is to resort to applying Tablet PCs within education to promote teaching for efficiency and effectiveness. Abstract: This study aimed to improve students’ narrative writing by implementing POWER strategy combined with the animated film at class VIIIB of SMPS Kartika Kendari. It was CAR design conducted in 2 cycles. The findings showed an improvement in writing ability in which 29 students (82.85%) achieved the minimum passing grade and the rest 6 students (17.15%) were in fair level of writing, and the result of teaching and learning process showed that 82.5% respond positively. The teachers are suggested to use this strategy as an alternative way to improve the writing ability and the media that is used should be appropriate with students’ level. Key Words: POWER strategy, animated film, writing narrative Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis naratif siswa dengan menerapkan POWER strategy berbantuan film animasi pada kelas VIIIB SMPS Kartika Kendari. Abstract : This study aims at describing the internal quality assurance management in character education. This research was a qualitative research using multi-site design study. The data of this research was obtained through observation, interview, and documentation. The d ata analysis was performed with single site data analysis and cross-site data analysis. The findings of this study were: the implementation of quality assurance of school's vision and mission and the meaning of quality assurance; The establishment of indicators of quality standards and their implementation systems; The i mplementation of quality standard using activity program; The evaluation of student quality standard by using observation method and self-report; The quality standard control using routine guidance for teachers, guidance for students and SOP changes; The improvement of quality standards with improvements in indicators, quality of human resources and teachers in preparation for improving quality standards. Key Words : internal quality control, SDIT, character education Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan manajemen penjaminan mutu internal dalam pendidikan karakter. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan rancangan studi multi situs. Data untuk penelitian ini didapatkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Abstract : This study investigates Indonesian EFL learners’ corrective feedback preferences including the timing, types of error, strategies of corrective feedback, and providers of error correction; and the relationship between foreign language anxiety and preferences for corrective feedback among students. Two hundred fifty seven EFL English department undergraduate students from two different course grades participated in the survey. The data were collected through questionnaire as the main data and interview as the supplementary data. The students’ were assigned to either a low anxiety group or a high anxiety group. The results showed that both sophomore students and freshman students agreed that student errors should be treated; freshman students and sophomore students had significantly similar opinions about perception, types, strategies, and providers of error correction. Key Words : students’ preference, corrective feedback, speaking instruction Abstrak : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap pilihan siswa terhadap umpan balik korektif yang termasuk waktu umpan balik korektif, tipe kesalahan umpan balik korektif, strategi umpan balik korektif, dan pemberi umpan balik korektif. Dua ratus lima puluh tujuh mahasiswa Bahasa Inggris dari dua tahun kelas yang berbeda ikut serta dalam penelitian berbentuk survey. Data kuantitatif diperoleh menggunakan kuesioner sebagai data utama dan interview sebagai data tambahan. Hasil pengolahan data menunjukkan bahwa kedua tingkat kelas siswa baik dari mahasiswa baru dan juga mahasiswa tahun kedua memiliki persamaan penilaian terhadap umpan balik korektif, mereka setuju bahwa kekeliruan segera dikoreksi; mahasiswa baru dan mahasiswa tahun kedua memberikan persamaan penilaian yang signifikan tentang persepsi, tipe, strategi, dan juga pemberi umpan balik korektif. Abstract : The aim of this research is to develop a questionnaire of multicultural education implementation in learning at elementary schools. As a preliminary study, this research target is to identify a factor(s) underlying questionnaire items. Questionnaire was developed based on four of five dimension of multicultural education proposed by James Banks in four point Likert Scale. Data were collected from 150 elementary school teachers employed in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. In order to achieve above goal, exploratory factor analysis was conducted through maximum likelihood method with promax extraction procedure. Eigenvalues greater than 1 and scree test were used to retain a factor(s) underlying items construct. Whereas Cronbach’s alpha is used to determine questionnaires reliability. This research found that from 54 items, there are 29 items valid for 6 factors of multicultural education dimensions with item load 0.40 or larger and 0.878 Cronbach’s alpha. These 6 factors are critical thinking practices for student, opportunity for student to reduces prejudice, cultural diversity as a learning resource, equality in learning opportunity, teacher’s knowledge about students’ cultural background, and encouragement for students learning initiatives. Based on this result, researcher suggests for further research to clarify and test those six factors by engaging larger sample size. Abstract : In general, language learners depict different ability and grasp of learning the language. Due to the fact that individual learns differently, researchers are interested to study how English language learners learn the language successfully. This study is designed to identify the area of language learning strategies that were employed by ten successful English Language Learners of Form Five from a private secondary school in Kuching, Sarawak. The strategies used by these learners help promote and boost the use of strategies among poor language learners. Using a purposive sampling procedure, a group comprising of ten successful language learners of a private school in Kuching, Sarawak participated in the study. The findings indicated that successful language learners are high frequency users of language learning strategies. The findings revealed that metacognitive strategies are among the highest frequently used strategies, followed correspondingly by social, cognitive, compensation, affective and memory strategies found as the least used strategies among successful language learners. The total means of each category showed that metacognitive strategies (Mean=4.466) are among the most frequently used strategies, followed respectively by social (Mean=4.217), cognitive (Mean=4.036), compensation (Mean=3.450), affective (Mean=3.233) and memory strategies (Mean=2.867) found as the least used strategies among successful language learners. Interestingly, the study acknowledged that successful language learners employed more indirect strategies paralleled to direct strategies. The findings have significant implications for research on language learning strategies concerning successful language learners and teacher planning to cater the needs of diverse learners in English Language and improve the field of language teaching. Abstract : This survey study was intended to investigate the perception of senior high school English teachers’ and students about personal competence. Using Probability Simple Random Sampling, this study involved 35 English teachers and 246 students of public senior high schools in Kota Malang. Instruments used are questionnaires and interview guides for English teachers and students samples. The findings revealed that both English teachers and students perceived the English teachers’ personal competence is very good. However, the English teachers’ perception covered personal competence related to cognitive and affective skills. Meanwhile, the students’ perception on personal competence only related to the affective skill. Abstract : A study conducted by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) in the United States in 2008 stated that the ratio of autism in children aged 8 years diagnosed with autism was 1:80. From Hong Kong research study in 2008, it was reported that the prevalence of the incidence of autism in Asia was 1.68 per 1000 for children under 15 years old. Semarang Autism Therapy Center is one of the autism therapy centers in Semarang. The foundation has approximately 9 children with autism. Several therapies have also been occupied, such as ABA, speech and occupational therapy, yet the results were less significant. Therefore, researchers want to offer a new therapy Method by the name Alquran Speech Therapy. This therapy is a combination between speech therapy and the Quran. Based on the identification of the problem, then the purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of Alquran Speech Therapy method in healing children with autism in Semarang autism therapy center. Based on the research, the result can be concluded that there is positive effect of giving the children suffering from autism speech therapy with Quran recitation. They can be calm and happy in learning process. Karena itu, peneliti ingin menyarankan metode terapi baru dengan nama Alquran Speech Therapy. Terapi ini merupakan kombinasi antara terapi wicara dan Alquran. Berdasarkan identifikasi masalah tersebut, maka tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan metode Terapi Alquran Speech dalam penyembuhan anak autis di pusat terapi autisme Semarang. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh positif pemberian anak penderita terapi wicara autisme dengan pembacaan Alquran. From Hong Kong research study in 2008, it was reported that the prevalence of the incidence of autism in Asia was 1.68 per 1000 for children under 15 years old. Semarang Autism Therapy Center is one of the autism therapy centers in Semarang. The foundation has approximately 9 children with autism. Several therapies have also been occupied, such as ABA, speech and occupational therapy, yet the results were less significant. Therefore, researchers want to offer a new therapy Method by the name Alquran Speech Therapy. This therapy is a combination between speech therapy and the Quran. Based on the identification of the problem, then the purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of Alquran Speech Therapy method in healing children with autism in Semarang autism therapy center. Based on the research, the result can be concluded that there is positive effect of giving the children suffering from autism speech therapy with Quran recitation. They can be calm and happy in learning process. Key Words : speech therapy, the quran, autistic children Abstrak : Sebuah studi yang dilakukan oleh Center for Disease Control (CDC) di Amerika Serikat pada tahun 2008 menyatakan bahwa rasio autisme pada anak usia 8 tahun yang didiagnosis dengan autisme adalah 1:80. Dari penelitian yang dilaksanakan di Hong Kong tahun 2008, dilaporkan bahwa prevalensi kejadian autisme di Asia adalah 1,68 per 1000 untuk anak di bawah 15 tahun. Pusat Terapi Autisme Semarang adalah salah satu pusat terapi autisme yang berlokasi di Semarang. Yayasan ini memiliki sekitar 9 anak autis. Beberapa terapi juga telah diduduki, seperti ABA, terapi bicara dan pekerjaan, namun hasilnya kurang signifikan. Karena itu, peneliti ingin menyarankan metode terapi baru dengan nama Alquran Speech Therapy. Terapi ini merupakan kombinasi antara terapi wicara dan Alquran. Berdasarkan identifikasi masalah tersebut, maka tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan metode Terapi Alquran Speech dalam penyembuhan anak autis di pusat terapi autisme Semarang. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh positif pemberian anak penderita terapi wicara autisme dengan pembacaan Alquran. Mereka bisa tenang dan bahagia dalam proses belajar. Abstract : English teaching is not only simply devoted to make students to master language contents. More than that, teachers may infuse moral values like politeness, respect, and honesty during the teaching and learning process. This preliminary case study explored teacher’s perception to their moral exemplary function and how they play their role as a moral agent in the classroom. Through interviews with two English teachers, it is revealed that teachers regard the exemplary function is crucial for students’ moral development. Teachers could actualize their role as moral model by showing good attitude in speaking and behave properly in front of students. Key Words : character building, English language teaching, role model Abstrak : Pembelajaran bahasa Ingris tidak sesederhana mengajarkan konten bahasa kepada siswa. Lebih dari tu, seorang guru bahasa inggris seharusnya juga menyampaikan nilai moral yang melandasai penggunaan bahasa seperti norma kesopanan, menghargai, dan juga kejujuran. Penelitian studi kasus ini bertujuan untuk memahami persepsi guru bahasa inggris tentang peluang mereka menjadi menjadi teladan bagi siswa dan bagaimana guru mencontohkan nilai moral kepada siswa. Dari data interview, diketahui jika guru meganggap bahwa dengan menjadi contoh yang baik, mereka bisa mendorong pembentukan karakter siswa.
