Background: The success of a removable denture can be determined by the good support of the mucosa and alveolar bone that underlies a denture. Visually and tactilely in the oral examination could not provide adequate information about the condition of the tissue under the submucosa. A panoramic radiograph can show anatomical considerations that influence the fabrication of a removable denture. Therefore, a panoramic radiograph of the patient can help reveal anomalous or pathological conditions in the patient's oral cavity. Purpose: To describe the importances of panoramic radiograph to identify lesions that are not clinically visible in the oral. Case: This article reports a patient with complaints of discomfort in the previous denture. On clinical examination found a prominance on the lower jaw in the left side of the mandible and it was pain on palpation. The patient was referred to radiology for a panoramic radiograph. From this panoramic radiograph, a suspected complex odontoma was found in the lower left posterior region. The patient was immediately referred to the Oral Surgery department for surgery. Conclusion: Panoramic radiographs play an important role in helping to establish a diagnosis of tissue that is not visible during clinical examination. This case demonstrates that with the aid of radiology, a preprosthetic treatment plan can be established to prepare the supporting tissue for removable dentures.

Background: Dental and oral health have an important role on overall body health, because it can affect someone's physical and psychological condition. The common tooth and mouth disease is periodontal disease. The main cause of periodontal disease is due to the presence of colonizing microorganisms in dental plaque. Gingivitis is a periodontal disease that is commonly found in the community. Review: Aloe vera as an herbal plant has many benefits because of its properties, such as; antiseptic, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antimicrobial, and wound healing. Purpose: The purpose of this literature review is to identify the potential use of Aloe vera toothpaste as an herbal alternative for oral health. Conclusion: Toothpaste containing Aloe vera has been shown to inhibit plaque formation, due to its saponin compound. Aloe vera toothpaste can also significantly reduce the gingival index.

Background: The global prevalence of dental caries is still high and reach 60 to 90% of school children. Dental caries is caused by dental plaque that can be prevented by brushing teeth. ADA recommended two minutes as duration of brushing teeth, but many Indonesian children haven’t reached that standard. Purpose: Knowing the effectiveness of two minutes toothbrush timer and conventional toothbrush to the plaque accumulation. Methods: This was an experimental study using pre and post-test group control with single blind design. Amount of 40 students aged 7-8 years divided to two group (control and intervention) using simple random sampling technique. The respondens was instructed to brushing teeth (Bass method) for two minutes, then the plaque index was measured by Löe & Silness method. Results: Independent t-test results showed the significant differences (mean of plaque index reduction was higher in toothbrush timer group compared to conventional toothbrush group). However, there was no significant difference at the last visit. Conclusion: Using two minutes toothbrush timer is not effective to reduce plaque accumulation. With the increasing of children’s ability in brushing teeth, making the use of timer toothbrush or without timer is useful in reducing plaque.

Covid-19 is an infectious disease that attacks the human respiratory system that can cause respiratory infections, ranging from the common cold to serious illnesses, this disease is caused by the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) virus. The process of Covid-19 transmission can occur through direct contact, droplets that are spread through coughs or sneezes from infected people and aerosols in dental care procedures. Aerosols can be generated from dental procedures such as, the use of high-powered tools requiring air pressure and water spray. The purpose of writing is to describe the potential of aerosols in dental practice as a medium for transmission of Covid-19. Aerosols in dental care procedures have the potential to pose a risk in transmitting Covid-19. This is because aerosols are found in the Covid-19 virus which can contaminate surfaces, dental equipment, and the air around the treatment environment which can endanger dentists, staff, and patients.
