Depth estimation in monocular Breast Self-Examination image sequence using optical flow 基于光流的单眼乳房自检图像序列深度估计

In this paper, we study the depth estimation for image sequence with small displacements as in Breast Self Examination (BSE). We utilized its Lucas-Kanade optical flow vectors, the concept of divergence and focus of expansion to estimate the apparent depth level for each frame. Moreover, orientation binning is also introduced to supplement its invariance to translation. The experiment used an actual BSE performance and the results show its effectiveness in predicting palpation depth level. This algorithm has shown to be in realtime implementation with a frame rate of 30 frames per second that is very useful for implementing the computer vision-based BSE guidance system.

Hiligaynon language 5-word vocabulary speech recognition using Mel frequency cepstrum coefficients and genetic algorithm 基于Mel频率倒谱系数和遗传算法的希利盖农语5字词汇语音识别

In the study conducted by the Department of Health National Epidemiology Center, there is a high incidence and mortality rates of breast cancer among Western Visayan women, specifically in Bacolod city, Philippines. The development of breast self-examination (BSE) multimedia training system that can be easily used by the local female population in Western Visayas can help awareness and prevention of this dreaded disease. This system incorporates Hiligaynon speech recognition for motion control commands. Hiligaynon language, popularly known as Ilonggo, is an Austronesian language spoken in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines with approximately 11 million speakers, 7 million of which are native speakers. This study focuses on a 5-word vocabulary Hiligaynon language speech recognition for the BSE multimedia training system with feature extraction using Mel frequency cepstrum coefficients and pattern recognition using genetic algorithm. The genetic algorithm uses Euclidean distance, neighbourhood selection, two point crossover and elitist survival techniques. The system has an adaptive database system which improves the training and classification of the Hiligaynon words. The results showed that the combined Mel frequency cepstrum coefficients and genetic algorithm techniques used together with the adaptive database system can effectively recognized the different Hiligaynon words with 97.50% accuracy.

Low cost smart security camera with night vision capability using Raspberry Pi and OpenCV 具有夜视功能的低成本智能安全摄像头使用树莓派和OpenCV

In order to further maintain peace and provide security to people now a day, Closed-circuit television (CCTV) surveillance system is being utilized. This study focused on the design and implementation of a low cost smart security camera with night vision capability using Raspberry Pi (RPI) and OpenCV. The system was designed to be used inside a warehouse facility. It has human detection and smoke detection capability that can provide precaution to potential crimes and potential fire. The credit card size Raspberry Pi (RPI) with Open Source Computer Vision (OpenCV) software handles the image processing, control algorithms for the alarms and sends captured pictures to user's email via Wi-Fi. As part of its alarm system, it will play the recorded sounds: “intruder” or “smoke detected” when there is a detection. The system uses ordinary webcam but its IR filter was removed in order to have night vision capability.

Rerouting of busses along EDSA using Genetic Algorithm 基于遗传算法的EDSA总线改道

This paper introduce Genetic Algorithms (GA) as an optimization tools of finding the best alternate route of busses along EDSA. The study aims to reduce the number of busses travelling across the main road of EDSA, find the best station nodes to optimize the number of passenger in every travel and when the optimum number of passenger is achieved the higher profit of the bus company will follows. The strategy of travel approach is not just to find the alternate route but also use another strategy like transferring of passenger in other bus to optimize the continues travel system and availability of buses in the area with respect to the number of passenger in a given time.

Dynamic forecasting of electric load consumption using adaptive multilayer perceptron(AMLP) 基于自适应多层感知器(AMLP)的电力负荷动态预测

Electric energy plays a vital role in the achievement of social, economic and environment development of any nation. Thus, efficient demand planning and production of energy is needed to avoid too much over/under-estimation of electric load. In this study, the researchers proposed a scheme with eight steps for a dynamic time series forecasting using adaptive multilayer perceptron with minimal complexity. Two different data sets; each divided into three overlapping parts (training, validating and testing sets), from two different countries were used in the experiments to measure the robustness and accuracy of the models produced by the AMLP. Experiments results show the effectiveness of the proposed scheme for AMLP in forecasting the electric load consumption based on the calculated coefficient of variance of RMSD, CV(RMSD).

Preliminary turbulence model validation for flow across rotating cylinders using ANSYS CFX 基于ANSYS CFX的旋转圆柱流动湍流模型的初步验证

The inherent randomness of turbulence makes it one of the most difficult phenomena to model. The need to accurately describe turbulence gave rise to the development of empirical turbulence models. Accurate prediction of the onset of turbulence and flow separation is critical in estimating the lift and drag force on a rotating cylinder immersed in a fluid stream. The objective of this study is to narrow down the selection of turbulence models for the particular application. Using ANSYS CFX software, 28 model variations were tested. Through simple comparative analysis based on lift and drag prediction accuracy, the study suggested moving forward with either the Eddy-Viscosity Transport Equation or the SST-kω turbulence models. Additional simulation runs and further literature review is needed to back-up findings in the study.

Solar-powered lifting mechanism for handpump systems 用于手动泵系统的太阳能提升机构

A power efficient lifting mechanism that will be applied as alternative to human power in water lifting applications from underground sources had been proposed. The mechanism is powered by a solar system, thus the design was essentially prepared to attain the desired effectiveness in both the battery consumption and lifting power. A high-torque 12 V wiper motor was used to power the whole set-up. Initially, the design aims to operate the handpump between a constant rate of 60 to 120 rpm as they are the acceptable efficiency speeds of the piston system without destruction to the whole well set up. By using the software Solidworks and add-in tool Solidworks Motion, the 3D virtual prototype of the parts and whole mechanism were modeled and analyzed. Several design iterations were performed to accomplish the set goal of using only a small DC motor to power the lifting mechanism. Finally, a sample model prototype of the device was constructed and employed in an experiment set-up to establish the whole system performance and value in agricultural irrigation applications.

Path planning for quadrotor UAV using genetic algorithm 基于遗传算法的四旋翼无人机路径规划

Path planning in quadrotor-typed UAV is essential in navigating from initial to destination point. This will minimize the power consumption of the vehicle which is important to avoid wasted energy in a given amount of time. This paper will use Genetic Algorithm (GA) to determine the shortest path that the quadrotor must travel given one target point to save energy and time without hitting an obstacle. The obstacle is assumed to be any point within the boundary. This algorithm is effective in searching solutions in a given sample space or population. If you know the possible solutions of the problem, you can evaluate it based on its fitness until the fittest individual arrives.

Trust based secure wireless communication in Ubiquitous network 泛在网络中基于信任的安全无线通信

Ubiquitous computing environment is a coalesced consequence of wireless and mobile computing, smart spaces along with invisibility, localized scalability and uneven conditioning. In Ubiquitous network, wireless communication between consumers and service stations are imperceptibly done in real space through a number of directory servers for getting user requested services. When consumers need a Web service, they query directory servers. A Directory server discovers available service station for consumer using Web service discovery process. Malevolent service stations may attack directory servers during service discovery and disrupt the wireless communication in service delivery process. As a corollary, ubiquitous environment necessitates a definite level of trust to be built in wireless communication between service stations and directory servers for desired service discovery. In this paper, we have proposed Trusted Service Discovery against Malevolent Service Station (TSD-MSS) protocol with a trust based security approach. Proposed TSD-MSS depends on context aware architectural and computational model to prevent malicious behaviour in service discovery for consumers in ubiquitous wireless network. The outcome of proposed approach in simulated environment corroborates the claim of our research.

Design of indoor microstrip TV antenna for integrated services digital broadcast — Terrestrial (ISDB-T) signal reception at 677 MHz 用于综合业务数字广播-地面(ISDB-T)信号接收的室内微带电视天线的设计

This study will eventually provide a great help to the Philippines in its transition from analog TV to digital TV. Through this study, just before the full adaptation of digital TV transmission, a new indoor digital microstrip TV antenna will be made available for indoor use. The antenna designed is specific to 677 MHz with target characteristics: gain in the range of -5 dB to -2 dB, VSWR of around 1.5, return loss of -10 dB and a bandwidth of 400 MHz. Through the use of simulation tool, High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS), the antenna was designed and optimized at 677 MHz. The actual field measurements and testing at the farthest distance of 2000 m around the service coverage area of PTV station helped in validating that the rectangular design has a maximum gain of-2.1623 dB, VSWR of 1.595, return loss of -14.0905 dB, and a bandwidth of 421.9 MHz. With these findings, the antenna designed was limited to a size of 17 cm by 17 cm using a fiber glass printed circuit board as the material.
