Sound masking using Genetic Algorithm & Artificial Neural Network (SMUGAANN) 基于遗传算法和人工神经网络的声音掩蔽

One of the significant factor of privacy is the source of sound. It creates the level that determines the effectiveness of the other factor. To experience maximum privacy, cancelling of unwanted sound is necessary. To automate the design of sound masking, this proposal use Genetic Algorithm and Artificial Neural Network (SMUGAAN). By evolutionary method two stages are use: a) to determine the target sound being mask evaluation of the parameters of functional elements and b) analysis of the target sound to get the fitness value to be mask and test signals with the help of Sound Synthesis Algorithm (SSA) technique. This stage gives audible sound to mask the target sound.

A remote-controlled land and water traversing vehicle for flood search operation 用于洪水搜索的遥控水陆穿越车

A remote controlled robot that can traverse on land and water with human detection for flood search operation has been made to aid rescuers and volunteers in conducting search operations. The robot can traverse on water and different types of terrain, namely wooden floor, cement, rocks and mud. It can handle an additional load of less than 8 lbs and a water current of 0.385 meters per second. It can be controlled of up to a distance of 290 meters, line-of-sight. The human detection algorithm achieved an accuracy of 93.6 percent in terms of detecting unique ROI for every set of 15 frames.

Food businesses are constantly looking for ways to improve their services, and one approach that consistently delivers value is investing in new technology to do things smarter, faster and more efficient. The usual process of ordering meals in restaurants begin with customers making an order through a waiter which in turn passes the information to the kitchen staff for food preparation, and then finally reaches the cashier to record the billing. This study aims to improve this system by developing an android application that hastens customer-waitperson interaction in terms of compliance of orders through the use of WiFi technology.

Beyond multi-core: A survey of architectural innovations on microprocessor 超越多核:微处理器架构创新综述

As single-core processors are getting faster, the dual problems of heat dissipation and efficient use of Instruction Level Parallelism (ILP) has now become a major problems. Major chip developers such as Intel® have shifted to multi-core processor. Multi-core processor has a lower clock rate than single-core processors, but this is offset with architectural innovations. These innovations have also been incorporated to provide value-added performance to the multi-core processor. This research paper will survey the different architectural innovations introduced as of 2012, map these innovations with Intel processors and analyze the relationship of architecture trends to the development of processor.

Visual surveying control of an autonomous underwater vehicle 自主水下航行器的视觉测量控制

This paper implements a visual surveying control in providing motion control to an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV). The AUV, which has a dimension of 35.5 cm by 16.5 cm, has five motors that are used to provide the necessary motions. Three motors are used for vertical movements while the remaining two are used for the AUV's horizontal movements. A programmable embedded vision sensor mounted inside the AUV processes and analyzes acquired information from its camera and then generates specific commands to be executed by the AUV. Visual surveying for motion control is achieved by recognizing color and tracking objects of a predefined shape. Color recognition aids the AUV to identify a specific color while object tracking makes the submarine to automatically move towards an object in response to its recognized color.

In situ sports performance analysis system using inertial measurement units, high-FPS video camera, and the Android platform 现场运动表现分析系统采用惯性测量单元、高fps摄像机和Android平台

We developed a mobile sports performance monitoring system that incorporates the use of inertial measurement units or IMUs, a high-fps video camera, and an Android tablet to provide quantitative and visual assistance to coaches and athletes in the actual location of respective sports. An Android app was developed to wirelessly communicate via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to control the IMUs and video camera in recording high frame rate video and motion data. The app then graphically presents the motion data along with their corresponding frames from the video. With the system, coaches and athletes can easily analyze sports performances, decide the necessary courses of action to improve on them, and easily share the data in a group for peer discussions and consultations.

An integrated and optimal scheduling of a public transport system in metro Manila using genetic algorithm 利用遗传算法对马尼拉大都会公共交通系统进行综合优化调度

Selection of dispatching modes for a transit system is a very important aspect of the schedule problem. This paper aims to optimize and monitor the scheduling and dispatching of public utility vehicles (PUV) plying along EDSA. Using passenger and vehicle data, the system will analyze an optimal scheduling pattern for dispatching PUVs in terminals that covers EDSA routes. The scheduling is based on passenger demand and congestion along the route. The scheduling system will be based on the dispatch system used by the Bus Rapid Transit. There are three modes of dispatch scheduling: normal scheduling, zone scheduling and express scheduling. It seeks to optimize the dispatch system in such a way that the transfer time of passengers at the transfer nodes is minimized while the operational constraints such as the traffic demand, departure time and maximum (minimum) headway are satisfied. Mathematical model illustrates the dynamics and behaviour of the system under different constraints. Genetic algorithm is used as the optimization tool. Data necessary for the generation of the algorithm came from transportation surveys. The code was written using C++ program. Effectiveness, accuracy and robustness of the system are evident by the results.

This study presents the development of a LASER power controller using pulse-width modulation (PWM) technique for the 3-axis computer numerically-controlled (CNC) LASER Machine. This includes the use of a graphical-user interface (GUI) and a GizDuino board to produce PWM outputs. The GUI was developed in Microsoft Visual Studio. The PWM code was programmed in the Arduino development environment. In this study, PWM is effective in controlling the LASER power of the Synrad firestar f201. Actual tests were conducted to verify its performance in an acrylic plastic material. PWM is also proven to be cost-efficient since it does not require additional modules for analog converters and signal conditioning process. Other features, like motor errors, LASER and chiller temperature, were also incorporated and created in the controls for the safety of the user and the machine hardware.

Life-threatening conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and other cardiovascular diseases becoming more common, the need to change one's eating habits and to monitor one's lifestyle have become a necessity. However, going to the doctor frequently is very expensive, and preventive self-monitoring is now more practical and cost-effective. Furthermore, an organized health-monitoring and data-gathering system will make patient monitoring and case-by-case diagnosis and treatment easier. With the development of advanced mobile computing technology and interface able portable medical devices, this project aims to develop a health monitoring system with its cost-effectiveness, ease of data acquisition as features.

A genetic algorithm for blind source separation based on independent component analysis 基于独立分量分析的盲源分离遗传算法

This paper presents the implementation of genetic algorithm (GA) to a simple blind source separation(BSS) problem using independent component analysis(ICA). The process did not include pre-processing of mixture signals such as centering and whitening like most of ICA algorithms. The GA directly guesses the coefficients of the separating matrix given the mixture signals as inputs using maximization of kurtosis and minimization of mutual information as fitness function. Only one fitness function was defined to account the fitness for kurtosis and mutual information. Three set of simulations were performed. The first two simulations used the mixture of two and three synthetic signals, respectively. The third simulation used four audio signals. The results show that the proposed algorithm indeed separates the independent sources consisting of synthetic signals. The simulation consisting of four audio signals separates only three signals. It failed to extract one signal probably because the signal is almost a gaussian signal.
