Customs are powerful environmental determinants that shape and separate one group from many others, often taking generations to evolve. When it comes to academia, it is no different. From the founding of the first universities to our present day, there have been two major components of academic morality that have undergone significant changes: academic institutionalism and academic dissemination of knowledge and skills. It can be difficult to adjust to such changes, especially when certain practices once served our predecessors well but their time has passed. However, with the right mindset and an openness to learning from the past and improving on it, we can ensure that our next colleagues will make the most of what their predecessors have left behind and take their knowledge and skills to the next level.

O przyspieszonych procesach cyfryzacji i robotyzacji we współczesnym nieprzewidywalnym świecie – teoria i praktyka

The aim of this study is to present the accelerated processes of digitization and robotization in the contemporary unpredictable world from a theoretical and practical perspective. In the new developmental conditions, there has been a radical limitation of social and economic activity and the emergence of new barriers, which has led to an increase in the importance of innovative products and services based on modern technologies, aimed at overcoming the economic and social effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The goal of some countries was to develop small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to become leaders in the progress of information and communication technologies. During the pandemic, an innovative approach to company development was necessary. Entities supporting entrepreneurs saw great potential in startups, widespread digitization, and actions consistent with sustainable development. The acceleration of the digitization proces influenced long-term organizational changes in enterprises, including more frequent remote work of some employees and the associated reduction in office space rental costs. Uncertainty in the global economy caused by the pandemic prompted many companies to re-evaluate their business models. Instead of relying on global supply chains, more and more companies invested in robots, leading to a renaissance of manufacturing in industrialized countries.

Article Turning to everyday life in religion research postulates the need to use a new methodology in the analysis of religion. It was proposed by the French cultural anthropologist Michel de Certeau. It is creatively developed by such anthropologists as Nancy T. Ammerman, Hugh Turpin and Catherine Wanner. In this context, the author points to the limitations of traditional methods of studying Polish religiosity. He also proposes his own way of overcoming these limitations. It is listening to the voice of lay Catholics.

Contributions to the aesthetics of St. Augustine 对圣奥古斯丁美学的贡献

The following article aims to resolve the fundamental question referring to the way ideas exist in Augustine’s epistemology and also to familiarize the reader with con­temporary interpretations of this issue. When framing his objectivist theory, Augustine drew on ancient traditions and the Bible, referring to deliberations on astronomy, cosmol­ogy and maths among others. In order for a work of art to be beautiful, it is necessary for human reason to perceive the right proportions in it, but their perfection does not depend solely on details and harmonious selection of parts, but also on something that links all these components to a mental idea. For Augustine, number is the principle of all things, but not in the sense of an arche, but in the sense of its presence in every being for example, the unity that the mind admires and of which it is itself an image. Its essence and meaning can only be found in God and therefore He is the first creator and greatest artist giving inspiration to all the arts. The thinker of Thagaste defined ideas as unalterable forms of things. In his view, all creation bears a certain trace of resemblance to God. That leads to a conclusion in the light of which every being is a greater or lesser implementation of the rules of res intelligibiles. The harmony of nature is of similar importance to him, as well as the beauty of the human body and mind. Facing the question of the ontological meaning of beauty author upholds its objectivity alongside other transcendental properties of being. Unity, equality, number, rhythm, proportion and order constitute the core elements of his aesthetics. The significance of Augustine’s doctrine lies in the fact that immaterial ideas enable achieving perfection in spiritual life, and hence bring us closer to the Creator.

Wyobrażenia i wiara w Boga dorosłych katolików w Polsce w drugiej połowie XX wieku i obu dekadach XXI wieku. Badania socjologiczne

In this article I present the attitude of adult Catholics in Poland in the second half of the 20th century and in both decades of the 21st century towards Theocentrical dogmas and the indicators of their faith in the religious meanning of these dogmas. The basis ftor the analysis of the attitude of adult Roman Catholics in Poland to these dogmas of the Christian faith are the results of sociological research carried out the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries. These studies showed that in the second half of the 20th century, a much greater percentage of adult Catholic in Poland accepted Theocentric dogmas and declared their faith in their religious mening than in both decades of the 21st century.

Zastosowanie teorii performansu Diany Taylor w badaniach nad kultem Świętej Śmierci w Meksyku

The aim of the article is to analyse the latest trends in Mexican cult of Santa Muerte (the Saint Death) using the terms proposed by Diana Taylor in her theory of per­formance. The concepts of the archive and the repertoire are especially functional for describing contemporary hybrid religious phenomena which undergo constant transfor­mations and which origins are diverse. Application of mentioned terms permits to capture the sources of those metamorphoses and their religious and cultural background. This allows to demonstrate how the unrelated archives convert into the repertoire of practices connected with the cult of the Saint Death. These practices are not limited only to the ones representing strictly religious character but they include various activities – performanc­es of everyday life – for which Santa Muerte is a certain type of context, background or reference point.

Contemporary personalism was born out of a certain anthropological disagree­ment with certain concepts that arose on the basis of naturalism and scientism in the nine­teenth and twentieth centuries. However, as practice shows, personalism has not achieved spectacular “success” in the world of philosophy in the form of neither clear external criticism from opponents (be it from the Frankfurt School or representatives of postmod­ernists), nor internal criticism within the framework of discussions within personalism itself. And yet it is difficult to deny the representatives of this trend a clear contribution to the development of such concepts and terms as: value, person (as a corporeal and spiritual being with social orientation), common good, commitment. The aim of this article is to try to answer the question why criticism within personalism could result in a certain exposure of views “outside” the world of philosophy.

Demokracja i religia w trosce o wartości

For quite a long time it was considered that it is the easiest to build democracy through the exclusion of religion and all religious content from the public sphere. This separation resulted in the crisis of religion that we experience nowadays and the degra­dation of democracy. The article is an attempt to rethink these relationships. It is pointed out that such a postulated separation, the exclusion of religion from the formation of the public sphere and participation in democracy, leads in this area to the subordination of everything to the majority rule, while with respect to religion per se to a dangerous reli­gious fundamentalism. Religion provides the information that democracy cannot be lim­ited only to institutions, procedures and the majority rule, but must also be rooted in the rules of law, the principle of justice and values. Religion is also important with respect to the condition of a democratic state and the fate of democracy. Democracy, on the other hand, is also of significant importance with regard to religion because it protects it from destructive fundamentalism.
