In this paper the concept of insular Polish dialect is applied not only to migrant dialects, but also (by the example of Polish dialects of Ukraine) to the vast compact in the past territory of the “mother” dialect, which now has been reduced to separate islands. The linguistic features of two Polish dialects in Ukraine (the villages of Sharovechka find Matkivtsi near Khmelnitsky) are compared with the linguistic features of two Polish dialects, the speakers of which were forcibly resettled from Ukraine to Kazakhstan (the villages of Ozernoe and Stepnoe near Kokchetav).

The paper aims to shed light on some cases of complex formation of the Bulgarian dialectal vocabulary as a result of multilingual and multicultural situation in the Balkans. The main source for the analysis is the first volume of the innovative Ideographic Dialectal Dictionary of Bulgarian Language (Sofia, 2012). The dictionary provides a list of dialectal synonyms for a literary word and thus allows the linguists to analyze the genesis of various denotations of one particular object (person, event, quality, action etc.). In the center of this paper there is the lexical opposition “poverty” / “richness” (correspondingly “poor”, “a poor man, woman” / “rich”, “a rich man, woman”). The dictionary documents many Turkish borrowings, which are widely spread on the Bulgarian language territory and are known to other Balkan languages. Occasionally there are Greek, Romance and Russian borrowed words. Motivational models are similar for Slavic and non-Slavic words denoting a poor or a rich man. Many lexes have multiple formal variations on the Bulgarian territory, as a Slavic or non-Slavic root is combined with Slavic, Greek, Latin or Turkish af fixes, which is a speci fic Bulgarian and Balkan feature.

The novel by Slovenian writer Goran Voinovi ć (1980) “ Đorđić Returns” (2021) is a sequel to the author’s debut novel “Southern Scum Go Home!” (2008), which turned to the life of first and second generation immigrants from the southern republics of the former Yugoslavia in Slovenia, and became a cult book. The author refers to the same characters and their evolution over the past ten years, a special place in the text is given to Bosnia and the life of the main protagonist there. The clash and overlap of different cultural spaces leads to complex forms of transculturalism, which are re flected in the work in the form of various forms of linguistic hybridity, bifurcated, nomadic identity of characters, actualization of the problem of migration as such.

In the north-east of Argentina, in the province of Misiones, there are speakers of Ukrainian, Polish, Belarusian dialects, descendants of labor migrants who began to settle there since the end of the XIX century. During the field researches carried out from 2015 to 2019, narratives in dialect were collected in these languages. The paper discusses models of verb adaptation borrowed from the Spanish language in the speech of the descendants of Slavic immigrants. Both oral speech recordings and written sources of the dialect are involved (the diary of a migrant from Volhynia, Kirill Wozniuk, written in the South Volhynian dialect of the Ukrainian language). The models of verb adaptation in all three languages are identical.

The Department of Dialectology of the Institute of the Czech Language in Brno systematically examines traditional territorial dialects. Between 1992 and 2011 six volumes of the Czech Linguistic Atlas were published. Since 2011, Czech dialectologists have been working on the Dictionary of Czech Dialects . The dictionary is being created in a special computer programme. It captures the dialect lexicon in Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia over the past ca. 150 years. An electronic version of theDictionary has been available since 2016. The Department of Dialectology is a team member of The Slavic Linguistic Atlas project. The 9 th volume “Reflexes *tort, *tolt, *tert, *telt, *ort, *olt” was published by Czech dialectologists in 2019.

In the work on the material of vocabulary, as well as rituals, beliefs and folklore of the Russian North, the symbolics and ritual functions of tea and tea drinking in folk culture are reconstructed. The place of tea in the diet, the organization of tea drinking are considered; reveals the parameters by which the quality of tea is assessed and functions of tea in family rituals. Drinking tea in folk culture acquires a special ceremoniality and often performs the functions of social regulation: social skills are tested during tea drinking and social relations are built. In family rituals, tea takes on the symbolic functions of wine and beer, bread and bread and salt, forming a functionally close “tea-sugar” pair. Often, tea is opposed to bread as an empty and non-nutritious product, a symbol of luxury and excess.
