The Online Estimate of System Parameters For Adaptive Tuning on Automatic Generation Control 自动生成控制中自适应调谐系统参数的在线估计

Making balance between the generation and demand is the operating principle of the load frequency control (LFC). Several studies in LFC have led to the trend of applying the adaptive approach to the implementation on automatic generation control (AGC). However, the adaptive controller with self- tuning technique requires online acquisition of system parameters that was not clearly stated in the related literatures. This paper proposes the online recursive least square (RLS) estimation on system's parameters for an isolated power system. The estimated parameters not only could be used as a reference model for the design of the nominal gains in gain scheduling technique, but also could be applied to the online tuning of the controller gains under the time-varying condition. Simulation results show that the RLS based estimate with an adaptive controller could enhance the performance of the LFC.

Exploiting Multi-agent System Technology within an Autonomous Regional Active Network Management System 在自治区域主动网络管理系统中开发多代理系统技术

This paper describes the proposed application of multi-agent system (MAS) technology within AuRA-NMS, an autonomous regional network management system currently being developed in the UK through a partnership between several UK universities, distribution network operators (DNO) and a major equipment manufacturer. The paper begins by describing the challenges facing utilities and why those challenges have led the utilities, a major manufacturer and the UK government to invest in the development of a flexible and extensible active network management system. The requirements the utilities have for a network automation system they wish to deploy on their distribution networks are discussed in detail. With those requirements in mind the rationale behind the use of multi-agent systems (MAS) within AuRA-NMS is presented and the inherent research and design challenges highlighted including: the issues associated with robustness of distributed MAS platforms; the arbitration of different control functions; and the relationship between the ontological requirements of Foundation for Intelligent Physical Agent (FIPA) compliant multi-agent systems, legacy protocols and standards such as IEC 61850 and the common information model (CIM).

Long-Term Load Forecasting Using System Type Neural Network Architecture 基于系统型神经网络结构的长期负荷预测

This paper presents a methodology for long-term electric power demands using a semigroup based system-type neural network architecture. The assumption is that given enough data, the next year's loads can be predicted using only components from the previous few years. This methodology is applied to recent load data, and the next year's load data is satisfactorily forecasted. This method also provides a more in depth forecasted time interval than other methods that just predict the average or peak power demand in the interval.

The Novel Stochastic Algorithm for Thermal Unit Commitment 热机组调度的一种新的随机算法

In this paper, a novel stochastic algorithm is presented to deal with the unit commitment problems. In this algorithm, a stochastic coding scheme including a binary and an integer matrices represented all the potential combinations of units statuses during the dispatch intervals. Signal-to-Noise Ratio(SNR) technique is used to avoid the entrapment in a local minimum to obtain a better solution. The effectiveness and efficiency of the algorithm are demonstrated by using several cases and the results are compared with many previous publications. Results show that the proposed method is feasible, robust, and more effective than many other previously developed computation algorithms.

Visualization of Wide Area Dynamics in Power Network for Oscillatory Stability Assessment 用于振荡稳定性评估的电网广域动态可视化

Many countries around the world had suffered blackout incidents due to inter-area oscillations in recent decades. Analysis of system wide oscillatory stability requires a more effective engineering tool for modeling the wide area dynamics in power network. This paper proposes a data visualization based method for assessing the wide area power oscillatory stability. The phasor measurements are used and estimated to obtain more real-time system operating data by using a linear state estimator. The phasor data are then used as the input data for visualizing wide area dynamics. Several visualization modules for displaying the phased angle dynamics are discussed and implemented. Test results of application of the proposed method to an inter-area oscillation event are reported. Sensitivity of the performance of the proposed visualization modules to different system sizes is illustrated.

This paper addresses the on going work of the application of Machine Learning on Dynamic Security Assessment of Power Systems. Several techniques, which have been applied for the Dynamic Security Assessment of the Greek Power System are presented. These techniques include off-line Supervised learning (Radial Basis Function Neural Networks, Support Vector Machines, Decision Trees), off-line Unsupervised learning (Self Organizing Maps) and online Supervised learning (Probabilistic Neural Networks). Results from the application of these methods on operating point series from the Greek Mainland system and the Power System of Crete island show the accuracy and versatility of the methods.

Data Management of On-Line Partial Discharge Monitoring Using Wireless Sensor Nodes Integrated with a Multi-Agent System 基于多智能体集成的无线传感器节点在线局部放电监测数据管理

On-line partial discharge monitoring has been the subject of significant research in previous years but little work has been carried out with regard to the management of on-site data. To date, on-line partial discharge monitoring within a substation has only been concerned with single plant items, so the data management problem has been minimal. As the age of plant equipment increases, so does the need for condition monitoring to ensure maximum lifespan. This paper presents an approach to the management of partial discharge data through the use of embedded monitoring techniques running on wireless sensor nodes. This method is illustrated by a case study on partial discharge monitoring data from an ageing HVDC reactor.

Fault Location Using Sparse IED Recordings 稀疏IED录音故障定位

Basic goal of power system is to continuously provide electrical energy to users. Like with any other system, failures in power system can occur. In those situations it is critical that remedial actions are applied as soon as possible. To apply correct remedial actions it is very important that accurate fault condition and location are detected. In this paper, different fault location algorithms followed with description of intelligent techniques used for implementation of corresponding algorithms are presented. New approach for fault location using sparse measurements is examined. According to available data, it decides between different algorithms and selects an optimal one. New approach is developed by utilizing different data structures in order to efficiently implement algorithm decision engine, which is presented in paper.

Optimal Design of Grounding System in Transmission Line 输电线路接地系统的优化设计

A novel optimization methodology is proposed for the design of transmission line grounding systems, taking into account technical as well as economical considerations. The problem of designing the grounding systems of transmission lines is stated as a linear-integer programming problem in terms of the construction characteristics and the particular requirements of the tower grounding schemes at the supports of each of the different line sections, in order to minimize the variable investment costs, subject to the maximum allowed line outage rate due to the lightning activity. The mathematical statement of the problem allows solutions in which the transmission tower footing resistance changes along the line, depending on the cost and on the particular characteristics of each tower grounding, assuring however, that the average behavior enforces the desired outage rate due to lightning activity, selecting the complementary electrode scheme required at each tower. The methodology is tested on a real case consisting of a 230 kV transmission line, 85.4 km long, with 180 towers. The linear programming branch and bound mathematical technique was applied for the solution of the test case. Two different simulation approaches for the calculation of the behavior of the line subject to lightning phenomena were evaluated without loss of generality: the approach proposed in [1], selected as an initial test due to its simplicity, and the improved version presented in [2]. Results are presented and compared to the design obtained through conventional tower design approaches with important reductions in the investment costs, encouraging the use and further development of the methodology.

A Rule-Based Approach for Navy Ship System Arc Fault Control 基于规则的舰船电弧故障控制方法

The electric power distribution systems of Naval Ships require autonomous control under all operating conditions. In some instances, natural or forced disturbances lead to arc faults between conductors and/or the hull of the ship. This paper develops a Rule-Base (RB) approach for arcing fault control with appropriate recommendations that minimize the effect of the arc current. The proposed technique applies an Intelligent Systems (IS) solution strategy to solve a unique and complex problem that is of value to the Navy.
