Isolation between transmitting and receiving station for distributed radar is a key factor for determination of station sites. The appropriate sites can avoid direct wave interference from the transmitting station to the receiving station. This paper analyzes mechanisms of trans-horizon radio waves propagation. Isolation between transmitting and receiving station in typical western China region was predicted by using the ITU recommendations relevant to radio waves propagation and empirical formula of troposcatter propagation, and test validation was carried out. Prediction and test results show that the troposcatter propagation is dominant when the separation distance between two stations is above several hundred kilometers. Test results also show that the appropriate mountain obstacles can effectively increase the isolation between transmitting and receiving station, and at the same time the diurnal variation of isolation is obviously decreased.

An ultra-wide band(UWB) low noise amplifier (LNA) of bandwidth 0.6–5.5GHz, gain more than 27dB, flatness fluctuating in ±2dB, noise-figure less than 1.2dB and the input and output reflection coefficient is less than −10dB within the range of the bandwidth is designed and simulated. This LNA utilizes both series negative-feedback in the source electrode and parallel negative-feedback between the drain electrode and the gate electrode to compensate the decrease of the high frequency gain. Comparing with traditional inductance negative-feedback between the drain electrode and the gate electrode, this adding resistance series capacitance feedback can improve gain-flatness and expand bandwidth obviously. Furthermore, this design adopt two stage cascade technology to achieve high gain and a transmission line of TL29 is used to achieve broadband match of an input and output port. Simulated in schematic and layout results are in excellent agreement.

We derive closed-form expression of an approximate location estimate in AOA-based localization. The derivation is based on Taylor series expansion and an approximate solution of an overdetermined linear system. The effect of an angle-of-arrival (AOA) estimation error on the location estimate is explicitly shown in the derived expression, which implies that the result can be used for the closed-form expression of the mean-square-error of the location estimate.

Research of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) formation is a hot spot in the field of UAV applications. Based on the fountain code, an encoding communication scheme using unequal level coding Lu by Transform (ULC-LT) code and stepwise unequal error protection Lu by Transform (SUEP-LT) code are proposed for the UAV formation communication. Simulation results reveal that the proposed coding scheme can reduce the decoding bit error rate and provide strong unequal error protection property across sources.

This paper presents a median troposcatter path loss model by the uniform path-loss (UPL) model based on power balance theory (PBT), theoretically. Firstly, the tropospheric forward scatter cross section of the common volume is adopted in the UPL. Secondly, ITU-R P.617, ITU-R P.452 and NBS-101 are compared with this theoretical prediction model. Thirdly, the tropospheric scatter loss experiment outcomes in northwest China at L band are used to verify the effectiveness of the basic loss predictions. It is found that the suggested model is an accurate model compared to the empirical models, i.e., ITU-R P.617, ITU-R P.452 and NBS-101, for not only the trans-horizon link, but also the relatively high scatter angles link, i.e., the obstacle crossing short jump mode. And the TSUPL-H is found to be well-fitted with the median troposcatter path-loss L band experiment data in the northwest China.

The problem of influence of stochastic straggling of the individual modules trigger time on quality of the pulses being radiated by the multimodular source of EMP is being considered. As indexes of a radiation quality the “key parameters” have been chosen. These parameters are the quantity indexes which, on the one hand, predetermine possibility of occurrence of specific physical effects in devices under test and, on the other hand, take into account features of these devices. Assessments of chosen key parameters values depending on the standard deviation of the trigger moments of individual radiating modules has been carried out.

To tackle the difficulty of retrieving and analyzing the unstructured large railway accident fault text, this paper proposes a retrieval scheme based Elasticsearch, which is a distributed full text search engine. The scheme adopts the Chinese word segmentation which integrates the railway domain dictionary, and uses the mainstream inverted index technology to realize the fast indexing after Chinese word segmentation, and applies the mature TF-IDF algorithm to realize the text search. Based on the structural characteristics of the railway accident fault tracking report, a text feature extraction method based on text format and regular expression is adopted to realize the extraction of accident name, accident location and so on. Finally, this paper adopts a railway bureau's railway company accident tracking report to do experiments and analysis from July to December 2016, which verified that ES full-text retrieval for near real-time. Through the text feature extraction, this paper uses the word cloud to show the key accident fault providing guidance for on-site work, establishing foundation of railway industry full text retrieval and analysis.

A Ku-band 14×14 center-fed linear polarized wideband reflectarray antenna is presented in this paper. A new element, which can reach up to a bandwidth of 33.3%, from 13 GHz-18 GHz, is proposed to extend the bandwidth of the reflectarray. The proposed element consists of a square loop and four folded stubs inside, which is modified from the conventional single-loop element. The sub-wavelength technology is applied to enhance the aperture efficiency. The simulation results show that the 1-dB gain bandwidth is 36.7%, and the bandwidth for aperture efficiency larger than 50% can reach up to 36%. The maximum efficiency is 67.6% occurring at the center frequency of 15 GHz.

For the economic development and transport demands, various types of rail-road bridges have been widely applied in China. As the high voltage (HV) transmission lines are laid along the road part, once there is a short circuit in the power lines, its electromagnetic disturbance, which mainly composed of low frequency magnetic field disturbance, would induce the longitudinal induction electromotive force (LIEF) higher than the normal operation electromotive force on railway signal lines. This paper builds up a simulation model of rail-road bridge in low frequency magnetic field and simulates the longitudinal induction electromotive force along railway signal lines caused by short circuit current of power lines. The shielding effectiveness of the rail-road bridge has also been studied and simulated. In order to protect the railway signal lines from disturbance, a practical design of cable tray based on low frequency magnetic field shielding theory has been presented and is applied to actual rail-road bridge construction.
