Power transfer efficiency (PTE) of wireless power transfer decreases sharply due to divergence of magnetic field when the distance between transmitter (Tx) and receiver (Rx) coils increases, especially with coil misalignment. However, electromagnetic (EM) metamaterial (MM) can manipulate the direction of EM fields due to its negative effective permeability. Metamaterials can mitigate the effects of low efficiency under coil misalignment. In this paper, an ultra-thin and extremely sub-wavelength magnetic MM is designed for a 13.56 MHz WPT system to enhance magnetic field and its PTE. Two coil situations of lateral or angular misalignment are both investigated with metamaterial. The simulation and experimental results indicate that the WPT efficiency decreases caused by misalignment and it can be significantlly enhanced by using metamaterials. Therefore, the metamaterial is an effective means to improve PTE of WPT under coil misalignment in a more practical environment.

A folded antenna for tablet computer application is proposed. The antenna covers long term evolution (LTE) band and wireless wide area network (WWAN)band(i.e. LTE700/GSM850/900/1800/1900/UMTS2100/LTE2300/2500MHz). We made a parametric study of key geometrical parameters affecting in return loss quality. The measured results show that the antenna operates over the 698∼960MHz and 1644∼2830MHz, which can meet the required bandwidth of the desired eight band LTE/WWAN operation. The peak gains and efficiencies of the antenna are about 1.38/3.88dBi and 79/86%. for the LTE/WWAN bands, respectively. This makes it attractive for practical applications.

During the operation of the electrified railway, the location of the train through the Neutral-Zone area will appear obvious electromagnetic disturbance phenomenon. In this paper, by analyzing the circuit structure of the Neutral-Zone, the circuit simulation model is constructed and the data of the disturbance voltage is obtained. The data is measured on the cable of the EMU and the simulation results are confirmed. At the same time, Through the construction of the analog discharge platform to study the phenomenon of off-line arc generated electromagnetic disturbance, get the real discharge data, get the real discharge data. Finally, through the electromagnetic simulation software, the arc net off-line equivalent antenna radiation simulation modeling, And the spectrum distribution of electromagnetic disturbance is analyzed.

In this paper, a patch antenna of satellite navigation is taken as an example. Using the electromagnetic simulation software CST to design a patch antenna which works in B1 and L1 frequency bands. The antenna is irradiated by different electromagnetic pulse(EMP). The time domain signal waveforms of the antenna output is obtained. Finally, the simulation data are analyzed, and some EMP coupling laws are proposed, which provide some useful conclusions for electromagnetic protection.

In many cases for direction of arrival (DOA) estimation, moving targets which are the signals of interest, exist with stationary targets simultaneously. To obtain the DOAs of moving targets while eliminating the stationary signals, a new method based on multiple signal classification (MUSIC) for uniform linear array (ULA) is presented in this paper. The signal and noise subspaces are given by singular value decomposition (SVD) of the processed covariance matrix which is a non-positive definite matrix and includes the information only about moving targets. It is well known that source number estimation is needed in subspace-based methods. However, the traditional methods based on information theoretic criteria couldn't work well due to the special distribution of the singular values even with high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). Thus according to the property of singular values of the processed covariance matrix, we give a relative robust approach to estimate the number of moving sources. Several simulation examples are provided to show the performance and effectiveness of the proposed method.

In this paper, a dual-band metamaterial structure (MS) based on a two-dimensional (2D) curved-surface substrate is simulated working in THz band. The simulated results showed some novel properties compared to the conventional planar MA. The curved-surface MS appeared two resonant frequencies at 9.63 THz and 11.27 THz. With the transmissivity zero and the reflectivity approaching to zero, the incident plane wave is partly polarization converted and partly absorbed.

In through-the-wall radar imaging (TWRI), clutter suppression is necessary for target detection and identification. Clutter in TWRI mainly consists of wall reflection, antenna coupling, multiple reverberation etc. Assuming that the walls are smooth is too ideal. The rough surface wall is considered in the present paper. Blind signal processing such as singular value decomposition (SVD), principal component analysis (PCA) and independent component analysis (ICA) are applied to remove the clutter for rough wall. Signal to clutter ratio (SCR) of the images after clutter suppression with these techniques is compared. Simulation results show that the SCR obtained by using ICA is superior to the one by using PCA or SVD.

A planar offset-feeding Cassegrain H-plane horn antenna based on substrate integrated waveguide is proposed in this paper. Blockage effect can be avoided because the sub-reflector and feed are located out of the aperture of the main reflector. Almost uniform phase distribution can be realized by proper design of the two reflectors and the location of feeding horn. A narrow beamwidth in H plane and wide beamwidth in E plane can be achieved, and the radiation pattern is stable in the operating band from 27.5 GHz to 32.1 GHz.

The electromagnetic environment of the train and the complex and variable train conditions are closely linked, which makes the analysis of the electromagnetic environment for the train is facing too many parameters, can not determine the causal relationship and other challenges. Based on the measurement theory of train electromagnetic signal, this paper obtains the common mode disturbance frequency domain signal of the antenna signal cable of balise transmission module (BTM) and Speed dynal, and preprocesses the data. Then, the classification and regression tree (CART) model and the radial basis function (RBF) neural network model of data mining (DM) are used to analyze the electromagnetic measurement data of the train, and the validity of the model is verified. Finally, the two data mining models were compared.
