Phenotypic and genotypic characterizations of antimicrobial resistance among gram-negative bacilli of clinical isolates 临床分离革兰氏阴性杆菌耐药表型和基因型特征分析

One of the biggest threats to human health today is the emergence of resistance among the most significant bacterial diseases. To identify outbreaks and the transmission of clinically important resistance genes and the genetic components associated with them in human infections, there is a need for genomic surveillance of antimicrobial resistance genes. The objective of this study is to evaluate the phenotype and genotype of antimicrobial resistance in clinically isolated gramnegative microorganism strains, as well as their molecular characterization. Microbiological identification was done using the automatic microbiological analyzer and GN ID REF21341 cards. The isolates' susceptibility to antimicrobials was evaluated using conventional disc diffusion. Using particular primers, resistance genes were amplified through PCR (applied biosystems).The identities of all 1470 isolates, including Escherichia coli (28%), Klebsiella pneumoniae (21%), Acinetobactor baumanii (7%), Serratia marcescens (6%), Enterobacter cloacae (6%), Proteus mirabilis (6%), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (5%), Citrobacter freundii (5%), Citrobacter braakii, Acinetobacter lwoffi, Enterobacter aerogenes and Proteus vulgaris (4%). All of these isolates exhibited multidrug resistance (MDR) to several kinds of antimicrobial medicines. Nine Carbapenem-resistant gramnegative bacilli strains were identified to be positive for blaNDM and blaOXA1.Our study found a concerning association between these diseases' antimicrobial resistance and the routinely prescribed antibiotics. This discovery compromises the medical field's therapeutic options and encourages the use of specialists who have less potent antimicrobial effects.

Mycosynthesis of silver nanoparticles by endophytic Fungi: Mechanism, characterization techniques and their applications 内生真菌合成纳米银的机理、表征技术及其应用

Fungi are attractive as reducing and stabilizing agents in the biogenic synthesis of silver nanoparticles due to the production of considerable amounts of proteins, high yields, simplicity of handling, and low toxicity of the residues. Nanotechnology is one of the prospective technologies that could be utilized to address the recent issues as agrichemical production lines, nanotechnology production lines can also have drawbacks. As a result, a brand-new branch of nanotechnology called as "green nanotechnology" was developed, integrating biological ideas with physical and chemical procedures to produce nanosized particles with specific uses that are ecologically friendly. Biochemical synthesis methods utilizing microorganisms and plants are being investigated and developed in an effort to create nanoparticles (NPs) in a sustainable and eco-friendly manner. Biological synthesis has grown in favor as a possible alternative to the drawbacks related to physical and chemical methods of synthesis. The current analysis discusses the potential for enhancing plant health and disease resistance using AgNPs produced by endophytic fungi, which will contribute to a greater level of agricultural sustainability. Future research should focus on understanding this important method, it is advised.

Lactic acid bacteria attracted the researchers in Egypt long time ago and information related to lactic acid bacteria in Egypt still either mystery or fragmented. By screening of available sources of information, it was possible to figure out a range of 457 studies that could be representing Egyptian Lactic Acid bacteria up to the present time. This work serves as a list of Egyptian published articles since 1973 up to 2022 on lactic acid bacteria to assist the researchers of Egyptian dairy and food industry and worldwide.

Microbial diversity and abundance in the hot springs on the west coast of Saudi Arabia as a potential source of novel industrial products 沙特阿拉伯西海岸温泉的微生物多样性和丰度作为新型工业产品的潜在来源

A knowledge gap exists regarding the potential of thermophilic bacteria in the hot springs in Saudi Arabia as a resource for medically useful compounds. This study aimed to investigate the microbial diversity in the soils of hot springs at three locations on the west coast of Saudi Arabia, including Jizan, Al Lith, and Tabuk. Soil samples were extracted for rDNA 16S, and the results were analysed for microbial diversity and abundance. The results showed the dominance of Acidobacteriota, Actinobacteriota, Desulfobacterota, Firmicutes, Halanaerobiaeota, Nitrospirota, and Thermotogota. Actinobacteriota dominated the microbial population in Al Lith soil, while Deinococcota were dominant in Jizan soil and Chloroflexi in Tabuk soil. Firmicutes and Proteobacteria had high microbial populations in all three soils. Based on principal coordinate analysis, the normalized relative microbial diversity of all soils showed differences as well as similarities in the distribution of taxonomic classifications between soil samples. In conclusion, the microbial diversity in Jizan, Al Lith, and Tabuk included a variety of microorganism species that can potentially be used in biotechnology as a novel source for industrial production of medically useful compounds.

Assessment of the antistaphylococcal properties and bioactive compounds of raw and fermented Trametes polyzona (Pers.) Justo extracts 生的和发酵的多带曲菌的抗葡萄球菌特性和生物活性成分的评价胡斯托提取

Trametes species are polyporoid white rot fungi that are important in medicine as well as serving as bioremediator and biodegrader of cellulosic waste. The present study investigates the bioactive compounds and antistaphylococcal properties of extracts obtained from raw and fermented Trametes polyzona . T. polyzona was collected from dead woods in farmland around Akungba-Akoko (7 o 27’ 32.4’’N 5 o 45’ 07.8’’E) and subjected to submerged and solid-state fermentation. The raw and fermented samples were extracted using acetone and methanol. The mycochemical and antistaphylococcal properties of the extract obtained from raw and fermented T. polyzona were assessed using standard methods. Extract obtained from T. polyzona subjected to submerged fermentation exhibited higher and better antistaphylococcal activity (28.00 mm) on Staphylococcus aureus isolated from blood when compared to other extracts. The minimum inhibitory concentration of the extracts against Staphylococcus aureus ranged from 100mg/mL to 400mg/mL. Gas chromatography Mass Spectrophometric (GC-MS) analysis of the sample confirmed the presence of fourteen bioactive compounds of fatty acid group. Results from this study revealed that extracts obtained from T. polyzona contain bioactive compounds with potent antistaphylococcal properties that can be exploited by biopharmaceutical companies.

Insights into the two single cases of the silent cause of death in dogs, the carcinogenic nematode 狗的无声死亡原因,致癌线虫的两个单一案例的见解

The factor that contributes to the development of oesophagal nodular granuloma in canin is the carcinogenic dog nematode known as Spirocerca lupi . This nodular forming nematode can have broader epidemiology because of the widespread availability of its biological host (the beetle) as well as certain environmental factors. Because of the similarities in the morphology of the eggs, the study coprology of depends on the presence of rhabditiform larvae in most nematodes and the features of those larvae. In contrast, the physical appearance of the eggs in the presence of carcinogenic nematodes is conclusive for diagnosis. Flotation and sedimentation techniques may detect this in a faecal examination in order to detect gastrointestinal parasites. These two single cases in the Amedi, Kurdistan Region were the first reports of confirmed cases of the silent killer cause of death in dogs. The parasite's eggs in the samples of the dog's faeces need to be confirmed through molecular and specific gene amplification.

Warm-blooded animal toxoplasmosis and its connection to COVID-19: A review 温血动物弓形虫病及其与COVID-19的关系研究进展

Toxoplasmosis is a zoonotic illness that spreads from animals to people. Toxoplasma gondii, a protozoan parasite that infects warm-blooded mammals, causes the sickness. Toxoplasmosis is a parasitic infection that causes abortion and death in animals. Cats are the parasite's sole sexual hosts, thus they're the only ones who can get it. Because cats are frequent pets, they are highly likely to come into touch with humans. As a result, the disease poses a risk to human health. The potential danger is influenced by the frequency of oocyst secretion and the level of contamination in the environment. Toxoplasmosis has serious consequences for both animal and human health, hence preventative actions should be taken to reduce the dangers. COVID-19 is affected by such methods as well. Toxoplasmosis is thought to increase immunological and immunosuppressive factors, which increases the chance of SARS-CoV-2 infection and the severity of the resulting COVID-19. Research into Toxoplasma gondii intermediate hosts might help understand COVID-19's dynamics and determine if the virus can be transferred from animals to humans. We explore what we know about Toxoplasma gondii infection as a human parasitosis and how it may alter the course of SARS-CoV-2 infection in this review study.

Health hazards awareness and fast food habits among university community in Suleimanyah, Iraq 伊拉克苏莱曼尼亚大学社区的健康危害意识和快餐习惯

Most of food borne diseases occurs as a result of poor food safety knowledge of individuals who work in food processing industries and also due to people do not have enough awareness about health hazards that occur during food poisoning. In this study, an online questionnaire was prepared and sent through emails to students and lecturers at the university and a scientific institute about their knowledge of food safety and health hazard awareness. Among 233 respondents, there is a high preference toward selecting fast food as an individual’s daily meal regardless of the educational background and age with a higher significant preference among male genders. Nowadays, people have access to various sort of valuable resources through internet, that is why most people have moderately good knowledge of food safety such as washing hands and practicing food safety measures. University lecturers and students are aware of health hazards caused by contaminated food and water with pathogenic bacteria, and they can manage it by various methods of treatment once they have been experiencing the food poisoning. Most of the socio-demographic population included in the study, they are fairly unsatisfied about fast food restaurant services in the city. Therefore, continuous educational practices and advices are necessary in order to educate most of the people and healthier food options must be provided in order to replace the fast food in possible.
