Desertification causes extensive concern of international academia for its development speed and serious calamity. Based on dynamic analysis of remote sensing data in different time and relationships between desertification and drive factors, a method how to build up desertification simulation model based on cellular automata with the help of GIS (Geographic Information System), RS(Remote Sensing) and GPS (Global Positioning System) technologies was put forward. The simulation model was developed with AML (Arc Macro Language) based on ArcGIS software. Then the model was applied to predict spatial-temporal desertification expansion in Bashang and its neighboring areas in Hebei province. Results show that the simulation and prediction of spatial-temporal evolution of desertification tally with the factual situation, which reflect the desertification development situation in the areas.

Aiming at the coupled processes of combustion and decomposition inside a calciner, multiphase species transportation method is adopted to simulate the complex physical and chemical process. With shrink-core reaction model for raw meal, raw meal particle phase is studied by Euler-Euler method. The coupled processes inside calciner are simulated by solving the species transportation equations between different phases together with fluid dynamics equations. Finally a good consistency is achieved by comparing simulation data with test data from production line and some optimized schemes for flow field of calciner are put forward by analyzing the simulation results.

Thai boxing is a heritage of Thailand. We were interested in doing a research on the development of edutainment concerning Thai martial arts and self-defense in order to give both knowledge and entertainment at the same time. There were 30 postures (double posture) of Thai boxing exercises. The edutainment was designed to gain attention from the learners by using 3-dimension characters, scenes, sounds, animations, emotions, interactions, movements, virtual reality, and simulated situations. The motion picture was captured using 9 optical motion captures to record the data about the right movements performed by 2 experts in the art of self-defense and Thai boxing. This was done at the same time and there was no obstacle to perform dangerous postures. The results revealed that the edutainment helped the learners gain interest in Thai culture, the right exercise postures, physical activities, self-defense techniques, and entertainment for the learners who majored in physical education at the good level.

Web services have changed the Web from a database of static documents to a service provider. To improve the automation of Web services interoperation, a lot of technologies are recommended, such as semantic Web services and agents. In this paper we propose a framework for semantic Web service discovery based on semantic Web services and FIPA multi agents. This paper provides a broker which provides semantic interoperability between semantic Web service provider and agents by translating WSDL to DF description for semantic Web services and DF description to WSDL for FIPA multi agents. We describe how the proposed architecture analyzes the request and match search query. The ontology management in the broker creates the user ontology and merges it with general ontology (i.e. WordNet, Yago, Wikipedia …). We also describe the recommendation component that recommends the WSDL to Web service provider to increase their retrieval probability in the related queries.

Simplified mechanical model can not reflect the real situation of the interaction between foundation and cables. Then numerical software FLAC3D is used to simulate the procedure of foundation excavation and cable reinforcement. Deformation responses of foundation are analyzed as well as the mechanical response of cables. The results show that, (1) the procedure of excavation leads to the deformation of soil mass in foundation, which is the reasons of tensile failure and shear failure; for tensile failure areas, the length of soil nailing should be set surpass the slip plane; for shear failure areas, the density of cables should be set larger at the place of shear opening. (2) after excavation, the axial stress distributes different along the cable shaft, location of maximum axial stress along cable can indicate the location of potential slip plane. FLAC3D can simulate the excavation and reinforcement of foundation reasonably, whose result can give guidance for design and construction.

Training for Tactical Communication Network (TCN) and its various communication equipments needs support of realistic dynamic networking environment. To meet the requirement, the concept of Computer Generated Network (CGN) was advanced, which borrowed the idea of Computer Generated Forces (CGF). According to this, the CGN principle frame was designed and a realization framework for network simulator based on CGN was brought out. Then three different modes for TCN simulation training based on the concept of CGN were put forward, namely, all-element virtual mode, part-element virtual mode and all-element actual mode. The research introduced new method and novel idea for TCN simulation training.

The purpose of this paper is to improve the security and the anti-errors-proliferation character of image encryption. Based on the theory of S-box in AES, we put forward a new standard algorithm. After that, by introducing the chaos random sequence, two improved image encryption algorithms were created. The method used by the first one was that a variety of S-boxes were selected for the substitution of each byte. The method used by the second one was that the encryption included multiple rounds of S-boxes substitution. In addition, the sequences of S-boxes in two algorithms were both decided by the chaos random sequence. Afterwards, we applied the three algorithms to the specific examples in order to testify the strength and the anti-errors-proliferation character of the encryption. Consequently, we have a conclusion that the new improved image encryption algorithms could effectively improve the inefficiency and the anti-errors-proliferation character of image encryption algorithm and be easy to implement.

This paper presents a linear integer programming model to plan the production for multiple products. The production is planned using information shared across a supply chain. The advantage of information sharing has been proved from research that it can make the whole supply chain globally visualized and yet decreasing in variability on the supply chain. The objective function of the proposed model is to minimize the total costs involved including the production costs, the distribution costs, the setup costs of manufacturing, and the fixed costs of distributing. From previous research, one more restriction which is limitation of distribution centers has been added to make the model more realistic. Numerical results verify that this model can be used to generate feasible and optimal plans for multiple products across the supply chain.
